Psalm 34:16

Psalm 34:16

16 The face [paniym] of the LORD [Yahovah] is against them that do [`asah] evil [ra`], to cut off [karath] the remembrance [zeker] of them from the earth ['erets].   KJV-Interlinear

16 The face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from the earth.   ESV

Two important principles come out of these last two verses.  First, God not only brings help to those who are saved and/or advancing in their spiritual life, and remembers them.  And second, God wipes out the memory of those who do not.

These things are not always done immediately, but when history finally comes to a close, then the believers in Christ will be remembered and blessed, and the unbelievers will be forever forgotten.

And just as important, all evils engaged in by even believers, will be forgotten and wiped from the memories of creation.

Nothing evil will migrate from this universe to the next.  Nothing evil will continue out of this universe and life and history, into eternity.

And that is exactly what, to cut off from the earth, means.

All of creation has things that probably need to be forgotten.  Why would God allow sadness or failure into an otherwise perfect new creation?

Better to part ways from the old and begin everything anew, especially ones bad memories.
