Psalm 31:3
3 For thou art my rock [cela`] and my fortress [matsuwd];

Wisdom comes from the
construction of studying word upon word, line upon line, precept upon precept. Wisdom cannot be acquired from a single verse. Wisdom is a structure within the soul made up
from the building blocks of bible doctrine.
There is only one way to develop wisdom and that comes from dedicating
yourself to a daily study of word of God, something that, unfortunately, most
people do not do.
A fortress is a mighty
structure, made up of many components.
It is not constructed in a single day, nor from a single brick.
The word for rock,
‘cela,’ means lofty, a craggy rock, a strong position, a fortress structure,
and therefore refers to the content of Gods word, or bible doctrine.
Fortress, ‘matsuwd,’
refers to the strong hold, a strong place, a castle, a bulwark, a snare for
enemies, and is the structure which is constructed out of Gods word, a
structure within the soul, that gives the individual who possesses this
structure, safety, security, and peace.
For thy names sake, which
is Gods honor and reputation, which is on the line, by promoting this safety
and protection, then lead and guide, ‘nachah,’ ‘nahal,’ which mean respectively,
to bestow, to bring, to govern, to straighten, and then to run with sparkle to
flow fluidly, to conduct, to sustain.
And that is what bible
doctrine accomplishes for the person who takes the time to genuinely dedicate
himself to the daily study of doctrine.
And this is established within oneself, not in a day, not in a year, not
from a handful of verses, but over the course of ones entire life, from a
thorough knowledge and understanding of bible doctrine, which you receive from
being taught.
And needless to say, if you
do not engage in a daily study from instruction, then you cannot receive this construction
of this fortress of protection and blessing, within your soul.
