Galatians 6:5
5 For [gar] every man [hekastos] shall bear [bastazo] his
own [idios] burden [phortion]. KJV-Interlinear
5 For each one shall bear his own
load. NASB
You can participate in Gods plan, or you can do
nothing. You either engage in a daily study,
or you don’t, and as goes your dedication to a daily study, so goes your
spiritual success or lack of it. Each
person is a unique individual, and as such, each person has their own unique
soul and life and individuality. You must
engage in your own daily study, in order to advance in your own spiritual life,
and achieve your own destiny.
You cannot piggy-back on someone else's growth or
situation, as is often times done in this world, where people try to piggy-back
on someone else's success.
Not so in the spiritual realm.
In reality, only God promotes or advances you or
anyone, in accordance with His will, not yours.
Hustling in this world, name dropping, seeking
connections in an effort to advance yourself, is works, and a futile struggle
in life, for seeking success and happiness or whatever it is that you are
pursuing.
Likewise, as an individual you are held responsible
for what you do or do not do. You cannot
let others engage in their responsibility and expect credit for yourself from
their effort. Many try to ignore or
disregard their responsibilities because someone else can do those things. Charitable giving or support is one of the
biggest avoided responsibilities in all of Christianity.
The burden, ‘phortion,’ that you are expected to
bear, means an invoice, freight, task, service, and these are things that are
placed on you, by God. You either pay your spiritual bills, or you do not. And in either case, you are held accountable
by God.
In the spiritual life, there are many responsibilities
and obligations placed on us.
The first of which is to reside in fellowship, to study
daily, to learn, and to grow up. Many
other responsibilities develop as a result of our spiritual learning, and these
are obligations that we have in life.
But they have to be pursued and maintained in accordance with the
spiritual rules of faith and what is right, and not ruled by arrogance,
approbation, lust and such.
Likewise, as the previous verse states, then you
have an obligation to examine yourself constantly, as to the consistency of your
commitment and dedication to your spiritual life, versus the desires of the sin
nature.
Are you promoting yourself or are you learning and
growing up and allowing God to promote you in accordance with His plan?
With God, there is no limit in what can be
achieved. Without God, all you have are
limitations.
But in any case, you cannot sit on the sidelines
and do nothing, or expect others to do the things that you should be doing.
Gods priority is to bring the gospel to all people.
Gods priority is to bring spiritual growth to all people. Those are the two greatest things that
promote each individual to the greatest potential and destiny for all of
eternity.
You can either be a part of that effort, or you can
do nothing.
