Isaiah 19:10

Isaiah 19:10ues

10 And they shall be broken [daka'] in the purposes [shathah] thereof, all that make [`asah] sluices [seker] and ponds ['agem] for fish [nephesh].  KJV-Interlinear

10 And the pillars of Egypt will be crushed; All the hired laborers will be grieved in soul.  NASB

If you have not been reading the full studies, then you are missing ninety-nine percent of the message, and that is why you fail, and just as this verse suggests, the people of Egypt who have disregarded Christ and doctrine, will likewise miss ninety-nine percent of what is going on around them, and that is why they will fail.

Broken, ‘daka,’ means to crumble, to bruise, to beat or be beaten to pieces, to break, to humble.

Purposes, ‘shathah,’ means purpose or intent, drive, determination, fundamentals or foundation of ones purpose.

Sluices, ‘seker,’ refers to one who works for wages, for income, for hire, a laborer.

Ponds, ‘agem,’ means a pond as in a fish pond, but it also refers to a confinement, a sadness, a no way out view.

Everyone works for an income of some sort.  Whether it is for an hourly wage, or a salary, or for a return on an investment or for a profit, is irrelevant.

God demonstrates just how weak the people of this world really are.  When just the rains fails to fall in far off countries, that has an impact on Egypt, who boasts of its mighty Nile, and of its prosperity and industries.

But the rain year after year, did not fall on Egypt, but on other places.  It was the runoff that came to Egypt, days and even weeks later, from which Egypt benefited.

And when that water stops, the whole country collapses.

Those who try as they may, to do something in spite of the low water, to pursue some alternative plan, in order to retain their economy, will be met with disappointment and discouragement.  Their efforts will fail.

And in spite of their efforts and plans, they will be in a no win situation with no way out.  They will be humbled from the arrogance of their usual ways.

For their ways were not really their ways, but the sustaining provisions from God, which they did not, and in the future, will not, recognize.  And not only will they not recognize, but they will have a conscious and stubborn effort to not recognize Christ.

And thus their problems will abound and grow and continue to get worse and worse, and in the case of this final generation, there will not be an economic recovery of any sort.

Your life is affected by many things that happen elsewhere in the world.  Even your plans and your own efforts are subject to Gods grace, that is wide spread.  Do not fall into the same trap and presume that all that you have and are, are due to you alone, or even to others.

You have two choices in life.  Do the things of this world and place your trust and future on the instabilities of the world, or, pursue your daily bible study and recognize that it is God who brings what you need to you in accordance with His plan for your life.
