Psalm 12:3

3 The LORD [Yahovah] shall cut off [karath] all flattering [chelqah] lips, [saphah] and the tongue [lashown] that speaketh [dabar] proud [gadowl] things: KJV-Interlinear

3 May the Lord cut off all flattering lips, The tongue that speaks great things; NASB

Flattering, is a term that was used in the previous verse, ‘chelqah,’ in the feminine form, meaning smooth, parcel of ground, allotment, portion, slippery.  The words that come out of the mouth of the wicked person, intended for flattery are nothing more than deceptive comments carrying a double meaning.

Anything said when out of fellowship, comes from the source of the carnal sphere of life, and thus the wicked side of life, not the spiritual side.  Anything said or thought or done, from the sphere of the sin nature, is from the source of arrogance and therefore in opposition to truth.

Anything from the source of ones own flesh nature, is not spiritual.

When one operates out of fellowship in life, speaks that which becomes his parcel, his apportionment as a reward or possession.  And thus when the sin nature speaks, noting is produced, and thus nothing is acquired, meaning that the evil persons portion out of life, amounts to nothing.

To cut off, means to bring to an end, to terminate, to cause to cease.  God will bring all arrogance, all sin, all evil, all wickedness to a halt at the end of history.  And even though that time has not yet arrived, this statement is stated with a certainty.  Days always come to an end, lives always come to an end, human history will come to an end, evil will come to an end.

The lips are the esthetic or intimate appeal of wickedness, while the tongue is the force behind the spoken words.  And of course the mind and the soul and its content, are the source of the wicked, fancy, smooth, deceitful words that are spoken.

When the flattery is brought to a halt, the evil tongues and souls that cause it, are also halted.

For unbelievers it will be the Lake of Fire.  For believers who have pursued evil during their life, it will be the cleansing fire at the Judgment Seat of Christ that will permanently clean out the dirt within their souls.
