6 There be many [rab] that say, ['amar] Who will shew [ra'ah] us any good [towb]? LORD, [Yahovah] lift thou up [nasa'] the light ['owr] of thy countenance [paniym] upon us. KJV-Interlinear

6 Many are saying, "Who will show us any good?" Lift up the light of Thy countenance upon us, O Lord! NASB

The phrase, who will show us good, is an expression for how do we find happiness.

And as we have already learned from the first psalm, happiness’s (plural) come from God.

Whereas happiness (singular) is what man seeks, in his attempt to relate happiness to things that are external from himself.

Humanity seeks happiness in things, in sensations. People seek wealth, money, in acquisitions, in entertainment, in social interactions, in sensual activities. And all of these things are separate and apart from ones inner self. They are all temporary and without substance.

God provides happiness’s in many different forms, and Gods happiness’s are internal to the soul and an integral part of your existence. God does not provide happiness in things, because as circumstances change, then your happiness or mood is subject to change.

However, doctrine is consistent, unchangeable, reliable and permanent. Doctrine in the soul creates a palace, a temple, a fortress within your inner self. And once you possess something in spirit, then you possess it forever.

Lifting up the light of countenance, is an expression for grace. Grace is Gods favor. And when God gives you favors, then that is something remarkable and phenomenal. The world in all of its glory, cannot match even one single small favor that God can provide. And God provides favors in abundance to those who advance in their spiritual lives.

Who can show happiness? Who can provide happiness? Who can accomplish a fulfilled and complete life?

Only God can do that, and He does it through the written word, Bible doctrine.

You can look to the world and you will end up with nothing. You can look to doctrine, and your life will end up with phenomenal blessings beyond imagination.
