1 Timothy 6:7

7 For [gar] we brought [eisphero] nothing [oudeis] into [eis] this world, [kosmos] and it is certain [delos] [hoti] we can [dunamai] carry [ekphero] nothing [oude] [tis] out. [ekphero] KJV-Interlinear

7 For we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either. NASB

To focus on the temporal things of this world (possessions, accomplishments, accumulations, etc., from this world) to the extent that you ignore the riches of eternity, is the perfect example of a fool.

For what has anyone brought into the world, what has anyone contributed to the world, what innovation has anyone improved the world with, and so forth. And the answer is not in the technology or inventions or discoveries of humanity, but the answer is nothing. Man has brought nothing into the world, and man has added nothing to the world, in all of human history.

As an infant, every person born into the world comes in with nothing, Job 1:21.

As a very productive person, what has man added to his own being, that he can carry it with him into the afterlife? Nothing, Ecc. 5:15.

What thing, from this world is eternal? Nothing, Prov. 27:24. Riches from this world, are not forever. They are temporary at best.

And what gain is there, if you work hard all of your life, gain the entire worlds wealth and treasures and accomplishments, but lose all of your eternal benefits? None. You could own the entire planet, but when you die, you would have nothing, if you ignore, or are apathetic toward, your spiritual life.

There are two kinds of wealth – spiritual wealth and carnal wealth. The carnal wealth is from this world, and you can see and hold and spend and possess it. You can measure it and it is generally used to compare yourself against others in the world.

Spiritual wealth is in heaven and cannot be seen or felt or measured in any humanly way. And yet it is eternal. It is the wealth that you can have after this life ends. But you can only have it if you pursue your spiritual life now, rather than ignoring it.

We are all born into this world as infant babe’s. We possess nothing but the genetic potential we are given at birth. In order to access that potential, we have to grow up.

So it is, with the spiritual life. You are born again with spiritual potential, but your access to it does not become available to you, unless you grow up in your spiritual life.

Most folks ignore their spiritual life, and therefore never grow up, and therefore never gain access to their spiritual potentials.

The wise person, lives their temporal life to the best of their ability, while investing in their spiritual life through their daily Bible study. Therefore, they will survive this life and be prepared for a greater next life.
