1 Timothy 2:11

11 Let [manthano] the woman [gune] learn [manthano] in [en] silence [hesuchia] with [en] all [pas] subjection. [hupotage] KJV-Interlinear

11 Let a woman quietly receive instruction with entire submissiveness. NASB

Ok. Now we enter into the area where the guys get all macho, and the women detest or resent, being viewed as second class citizens. And both views are wrong.

That is because too many people want to read only the words and then make direct applications of the words mentioned as literal and the only possible interpretations. And most folks who try to make such restrictive interpretations have difficulty in life because their reading is not correct.

And so we have idiot religions like Islam who place the woman somewhere lower than a dog, and idiot men who just want an excuse to be the boss.

So, we have three words in this verse, combined with our context, which will clear it all up. Do you remember our subject?

The four words. Woman, learn, silence, and subjection. Not that these four words are necessarily bad when put together, but we need to look deeper into the words.

Woman, ‘gune,’ is a reference to a married woman. It is not a reference to a single woman. Married is a completion process, whereby the woman (or person) has crossed the threshold of change from a state of incompleteness to a state of a completion process.

Read that paragraph again, and slowly, so you can begin to catch the drift of what it says.

Remember that the Bible has to be read and interpreted as a complete unit, and not piece meal. ‘No jew, no gentile, no male, no female, etc.’ Remember that passage?

The next word, learn, ‘manthano,’ which means to learn, for the purpose of coming to an understanding of what you learned. To understand.

Silence, ‘hesuchia,’ to not fidget, to not be a distraction, to not bustle about, to be quiet, to concentrate on what is being presented.

Subjection, ‘hupotage,’ subordination to ones self, self discipline, to be subdued, to be obedient to a higher authority.

So, do you see the flow here?

Women (and anyone for that matter), are to submit themselves to the learning process which leads to the completion of their life. Namely the teaching and instruction of Bible doctrine and growth to spiritual maturity.

People are to submit to the authority of Gods truth. But they need to learn it first, and therefore they must approach that learning process with self discipline and concentration, so that they can actually learn, and so that they can actually understand what it is that they are learning.

This means that you halt the thinking process which generates arguments or self opinions, and you listen with the intent to learn.

Learning Bible doctrine is the marriage of Gods word to the soul. That is the only legitimate and permanent marriage in existence.

The feminine view here means that the person learning is the student, without portfolio. You have no rights, no say, when it comes to learning truth. Only when you have learned, and that takes ones entire life, will you then have a say at some time in eternity.

The reason for this is because far too many people get things all mixed up, and that leads to confusion and distortions and confrontational arguments, of what the Bible teaches. Just look at all of the denominations and opinions that are floating out there in the world. Too many chiefs.

Work on your inner self, your soul, not on your outer self (to the exclusion of your soul).

And you learn, by submitting yourself to a learning process. Gods defined learning process, not yours.
