Job 34:14-15

14 If he set [suwm] his heart [leb] upon man, if he gather ['acaph] unto himself his spirit [ruwach] and his breath [nashamah];
15 All flesh [basar] shall perish [gava`] together [yachad], and man ['adam] shall turn again [shuwb] unto dust [`aphar]. KJV-Interlinear

14 'If He should determine to do so, If He should gather to Himself His spirit and His breath, 15 All flesh would perish together, And man would return to dust. NASB

Two principles come out of these verses. The first is the sovereignty of God. God is capable of doing anything, or rather, God has the ability to do anything. If He sets His mind to it, He could remove all human life from existence in an instant.

And although He is capable of doing this, He chooses not to destroy man. Again, His sovereignty combined with his immutability is in view.

Likewise, if God were to examine all of mans attributes, He would find man lacking in righteousness. All have sinned. All have fallen short of the glory of God. There is no human being born of Adam (dust), who can boast of perfection, for it does not exist in man.

Mans life is divided up into two parts here. There is a dust part, and a soul part. God created both.

From the dust, God formed man into his physical body. Within that body, God formed a human soul. Both body and soul are vessels, containers which house life forms. The physical body is the house of biological life, and the soul is the house of human life.

When man is born, God breathes, 'nashamah,' God exhales breath into man, or human life into the soul. Man inhales that life and springs to life. Likewise, when man dies, the human soul along with its human life is removed and returns to God from whence it came. The physical body returns to the dust from whence it came. Only this dust is not the common dust, adam, of its origin. This is a spent dust, ashes, out from which life has been thoroughly removed, and from which there is no, and never will be, a recovery for that spent biological part.

Eccl 12:7
7 then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it. NASB

The arrogance of man causes man to see nothing. The humility of man enables man to see truth. Man is not the one who controls his destiny or life. God has that control.

No nation, no empire, no politician or leader, no celebrity, no common person, no one who is considered to be a nobody, no one who is considered to be somebody, can alter or change or modify Gods plan for themselves or for humanity.
