Romans 7:18
18 For [gar] I know [eido] that [hoti] in [en] me [emoi] (that is [toutesti], in [en] my [mou] flesh [sarx],) dwelleth [oikeo] no [ou] good thing [agathos]: for [gar] to will [thelo] is present [parakeimai] with me [moi]; but [de] how to perform [katergazomai] that which is good [kalos] I find [heurisko] not [ou]. KJV-Interlinear
18 For I know that nothing good dwells
in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not
the ability to carry it out. ESV
Now remember that Paul is a Christian. He is a
believer in Jesus Christ. But he is also describing that the sin nature remains
within him, despite his Christian status.
Just because a person has believed in Christ and is
therefore saved, does not mean the sin nature has become somehow nonexistent
within the body.
Christians are just as easily susceptible to sin after
salvation, as they were before salvation. Your volition decides which way you
choose to lean.
The sin nature leaves an inherent weakness within the
individual, that is impossible to overcome, on ones own.
But this should also make it clear, that self-perfection
within the individual is also an impossibility.
You cannot eat the right things, you cannot exercise
the right way, you cannot meditate in some certain way, as a means to ascending
yourself from imperfection to perfection.
There is only one way to gain perfection in ones life,
and that begins with faith in Christ for salvation, and learning Bible doctrine
for spiritual muscle.
Study [by instruction],
to show thyself
approved [spiritually mature]
unto God,
a workman [student]
that need not be
ashamed [ignorant],
rightly dividing [learning, understanding, discerning]
the word of truth [Bible doctrine].
These studies, are a part of the massive
daily study web site at DailyBibeStudy.Org, that is easily accessible, and are
written, so that you can come to Christ if you have not done so already, and
therefore not be lost forever.
And
if you have already believed in Christ, then these studies are written so you
can learn and understand and grow in your spiritual life, so that you can come
to the full knowledge of Christ, so that you can fulfill your meaning and
purpose in life as God intended for you, and so you can qualify for a
phenomenal eternal reward which you will have forever.
To
ignore this opportunity to pursue a daily study means you will be incomplete,
unfulfilled and you will lose out, big time.
The
Daily Bible Study is online, making it possible as never before in all of human
history, to advance in ones relationship with God, through Christ, and to complete
yourself beyond your imagination.
But
you have to decide to make that commitment.
No one else can study for you.
You have to do that yourself.
