Revelation 21:25

Copyright Ó 2011 J. Neely
Revelation 21:25

25 And [kai] the gates [pulon] of it [autos] shall [kleio] not [ou me] be shut [kleio] at all [ou me] by day: [hemera] for [gar] there shall be [esomai] no [ou] night [nux] there. [ekei] KJV-Interlinear

25 And in the daytime (for there shall be no night there) its gates shall never be closed; NASB

Daytime will be perpetual. There will no longer be any night. The light of Christ will emanate from the city, and will light up the entire expanse of the universe, which by the way, will go on forever.

Just as there was no beginning for Gods light, so too there will be no limit nor end to it.

Isa 60:11
11 "And your gates will be open continually; They will not be closed day or night, So that men may bring to you the wealth of the nations, With their kings led in procession. NASB

The gates of the city, even though they exist, will never be closed. The gates, along with the many decorations of the city are there to emphasize Gods power and perfection and sovereignty and design.

Compared to the universe, the city will be very small, but still infinitely beyond mans ability to build anything like it.

22 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels,
23 to the general assembly and church of the first-born who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the Judge of all, and to the spirits of righteous men made perfect,
24 and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel. NASB

No man has come to the city of his own creation, but that of God. And there in the New Jerusalem, believers, elect angels, and God, will make their home and live together forever, and ever.

Many evolutionists say that everything has occurred by accident, or by some natural pattern, but the existence of this city, descending out from Heaven, constructed with such magnitude and grandeur, will be a final (or at least another) testimony that things not built by mans hands, do in fact have a divine designer and sovereign that is not an accident of nature.
