Psalm 9:19

Psalm 9:19

19 Arise, [quwm] O LORD; [Yahovah] let not man ['enowsh] prevail: [`azaz] let the heathen [gowy] be judged [shaphat] in thy sight. [paniym] KJV-Interlinear

19 Arise, O Lord, do not let man prevail; Let the nations be judged before Thee. NASB

God is perfect truth.  Truth is where facts and reality match up perfectly.

Truth is not theory or best guesses or presumption, or interpretations of convenience.  Truth is not up for debate or discussion or modification or open to varying view points.

If something is, then it is.  If something is not, then it is not.

Man is lacking in access to truth on his own, therefore he must discover it.  He has many tools made available at his disposal, all of which have been given to man by God, but man is still limited in his ability to observe and prove truth.

We were not present at the beginning, and we cannot see angels or things beyond our knowledge.  But we can test and discover the many things that God has provided for us in this universe.

Whether the vastness of space or the intricacy of genetics, God has given us the ability to discover these things and how they function.  But only to discover the magnitude and complexity of Gods work, and utilize them, but not to invent mans theories or for self defined destinies or accomplishments.

Throughout history, man has been chained with sin and death.  From these things, man cannot escape.

Man has an ever present view of his own improvement as the generations pass forward in history.  However, the Bible teaches us that mans advancement in history will only end up in the worst possible state for humanity, and eventual self destruction.

That is the subject of Revelation.  And that is the only destiny available for the lack of truth.

Therefore, man must fail, because mans efforts lead only to self destruction.  In this, our verse teaches us that man must not succeed in his efforts of self extermination.

The heathen is a term we have seen many times, and refers not to backward cultures, but is a descriptive and symbolic term that identifies everyone who lacks truth.  This can include backward cultures, as well as even the most advanced cultures in the world.

Truth provides clarity of thought and correct discernment in reality.  Lack of truth makes one backwards, uncivilized, superstitious, detached from reality, disoriented to life (all of these are heathenistic descriptions in other words), in the soul, regardless of ones culture.  Therefore, evil.

Unless evil is judged then evil will destroy all living things.

Unless truth is demonstrated and proved (Gods policy), then all will deviate from it.

So, evil must be removed in order for life and truth to function and flourish. Therefore, judgment is necessary in order to preserve and promote all life, and eliminate the destructiveness of evil.
