Psalm 10:2

Copyright Ó 2011 J. Neely
Psalm 10:2

2 The wicked [rasha`] in his pride [ga`avah] doth persecute [dalaq] the poor: [`aniy] let them be taken [taphas] in the devices [mazimmah] that [zuw] they have imagined. [chashab] KJV-Interlinear

2 In pride the wicked hotly pursue the afflicted; Let them be caught in the plots which they have devised. NASB

The wicked, includes anyone and everyone who holds a disregard for truth.

In order for the wicked to succeed, truth must be defeated or minimized in the minds of the masses.  This is why you will see an onslaught against truth, against Christianity, against prayer, against the institution of marriage, against the institution of the military, against honor and integrity, against business and so forth.

All things that are of or from God in the area of divine establishment, in the area of the gospel and salvation, in the area of the spiritual life and what constitutes it, and so forth.  These things must be attacked and immorality must increase in order for the wicked to be successful in their pursuits.

In the news you will read or hear of infidelity in celebrities, or politicians, or of people in general.  You will read or hear of criminal activities that go beyond atrocities.  You will read or hear of idealistic ideas for running or controlling society or the nation or the world.  And all of these things cannot exist unless immorality is being pursued in the thinking of the masses or in those who influence or lead.

And when the wicked succeed, then everyone suffers.

The minds and thoughts of the wicked are filled to their brim with the lies of life, and therefore they reject and attack truth and all who hold truth dearly in their thoughts and minds.

The foundation of evil is arrogance, which is the elevation of the importance of ones self in relation to everything else.  Pride is the action of arrogance.

However, while the objective of the wicked is to promote their false beliefs, not believing them to be false, and the defeat of truth, which they reject, then they in fact catch themselves in their own lies and false beliefs, and trap themselves into bringing defeat upon themselves.

When a person rejects the concept of gravity, which is a fact of truth, and jumps off a tall building, then his false belief is good only as long as the duration of the fall.  Sooner or later all wickedness will reach the end of its fall.

Jesus Christ controls history.  He places each and every person into history at the time of His choosing.  He removes each and every person from history at the time of His choosing.

The wicked in pursuing the world achieve nothing, since the world is a temporary thing only.

The wicked in persecuting the righteous achieve nothing, since the righteous are in the hands and under the control of God.

The wicked in promoting their own agenda in history achieve nothing, since their own plans will result in their own destruction.
