13 and cinnamon and spice and incense and perfume and frankincense and wine and olive oil and fine flour and wheat and cattle and sheep, and cargoes of horses and chariots and slaves and human lives. NASB
Lest you think that only the expensive items are affected by the poor economics, here is added to the list the more common everyday products, from personal hygiene items to spices, to flour, which makes bread, to transportation, and meats or meat products, and even labor, both slave and contract labor.
This second list covers the basics of life which everyone needs on a daily basis. And this applies to the greater population of humanity, and is not limited to the very wealthy.
From a very busy and wealthy economy, to virtually nothing, pretty much summarizes the total failure of the economic systems which Satan sponsors. And it also should make it very clear that this time in history will be the most difficult hardship placed on any population, ever.
All of this will lead the entire human race to near extinction. And even though there are these hard times present at the end of the Tribulation, the world leaders will still mobilize armies, even with virtually no resources, and the general population will volunteer for service in these armies. Where else will anyone get a meal?
