7 Thou hast put [nathan] gladness [simchah] in my heart, [leb] more than in the time [`eth] that their corn [dagan] and their wine [tiyrowsh] increased. [rabab] KJV-Interlinear

7 Thou hast put gladness in my heart, More than when their grain and new wine abound. NASB

Happiness is the ultimate objective of everyone. Regardless of who you are or what you do in life, or what you have, or what your circumstances are, everyone strives for happiness or fulfillment of some sort in their life.

Most folks pursue their happiness by means of things or circumstances, which are things that are external to themselves.

However, God provides a more complete and thorough happiness which resides within the soul, a happiness that becomes an integral part of your very existence and life. This happiness is more than a possession, it is a fundamental component of your essence.

And while people of the world pursue their happiness through things, circumstances, social relationships and such, they really never achieve anything when it is all said and done.

Grain and wine are expressions for the new production of a very fruitful harvest. These refer to the ultimate of prosperities from life from this world.

But no matter what you gain in life from the world, even if it is the entire world, your happiness will never come close to the happiness that God provides through doctrine.

The worlds blessings are temporary at best.

Gods favor (grace), is far better and it lasts forever. Gods favor comes as a result of doctrine in the soul, which you learn through study, and has nothing whatsoever to do with any circumstance of life.
