Psalms 5:2

http://www.dailybiblestudy.org

2 Hearken [qashab] unto the voice [qowl] of my cry, [sheva`] my King, [melek] and my God: ['elohiym] for unto thee will I pray. [palal] KJV-Interlinear

2 Heed the sound of my cry for help, my King and my God, For to Thee do I pray. NASB

The cry for assistance, for help, comes in times of stress, in times of trouble, in times when there is nothing else you can do, in times when life has driven you down and run away from you, in times when you are helpless and powerless and seemingly without hope.

To my King and God. Everyone has an authority they look to. There is no one who does not have a superior. We all have someone we are obligated to, whether we accept it or not.

In life God has set up various systems of authority, designed to keep human society safe and on track, and designed to teach us all that our ultimate authority is God.

If we reject the authority which God has established for us here in this life, then we cannot really orient to God as our authority, since we have rejected Hid design. You cannot pick and choose which of Gods rules you will obey and which you will not.

Disobedience in one is disobedience in all.

God is the ultimate authority and His plan and design are our marching orders for life.

For to you I pray.

There is no one, and nothing in this world or in life, to which we can turn, other than God.

Our family, our culture, our ancestors, the plant life, the animal life, the seasons and acts of nature, the sun and moon and stars, and all the things we can or cannot see, have no power to hear, let alone answer prayer.

Life swirls all around us and is beyond our control. We cannot control other people. We cannot control the systems of society. We cannot control the bureaucracies in the world. We cannot control chance or accidents or karma, if you will.

But what we can control is our own destiny. And that control comes through our decision and determination to learn doctrine, to understand doctrine, to grow up in our spiritual life, to learn responsibility and orientation to life, by means of Gods grace plan for us.

While the world swirls away, we can fulfill our own completion and destiny, by recognizing life and our own limitations and by embracing Gods grace and plan, which is specifically designed for each one of us.

To ignore His plan is to waste your entire life chasing after everything that the world has, which is nothing. But to embrace Gods plan, is to secure a phenomenal life now and future which is in front of us.

1 [To the chief Musician [natsach] upon Nehiloth, [nachiylah] A Psalm [mizmowr] of David. [David] Give ear ['azan] to my words, ['emer] O LORD, [Yahovah] consider [biyn] my meditation. [hagiyg] KJV-Interlinear

1 For the choir director; for flute accompaniment. A Psalm of David.
Give ear to my words, O Lord, Consider my groaning. NASB

The previous psalm was an evening psalm, as the reader was inclined to lay down and sleep in peace and safety in the knowledge that God is watching over us.

This psalm is a morning psalm, to which the reader wakes up in remembrance and thankfulness of the phenomenal blessings that he has received from God.

This psalm is addressed to the chief musician in a continuous fashion with wind instruments, and, to the chief musician in a discontinuous fashion with wind instruments. Also, it can be read as to the chief musician with inheritances, and to the chief musician without inheritances.

Both Hebrew words, ‘natsach,’ and ‘nachiylah,’ carrying parallel meanings as they are derived from ‘chaalal,’ and ‘naachal,’ respectively.

The continuous aspect is in reference to Gods grace (the music) for those who pursue their spiritual lives in the legitimate manner prescribed by God, while grace is discontinued for those who are indifferent toward, or in rejection of, or play games with, self designed spirituality.

The reference to the inheritance carries the same connotation for those who will or will not inherit in eternity, and again based on their spiritual function or lack of it.

Thus the opening introduction of this psalm speaks to the chief musician, the one who drives and leads the orchestra, namely Christ, who sets the controls over history and lives and destinies and rewards.

The reader prays to God, to hear his words in the morning, as he first arises and gives thanks, as his first act of the day, each morning.

His words from meditation, come from words that he has learned.

Words that you have learned come from words that you have studied. Words that you have studied come from your making the decision each and every day, to study, out of a desire to learn of God, and truth, and not be merely satisfied with your own invented perspective of life.

Gods word, comes out from beyond ones reach, given by God to each one of us. Words that otherwise are not accessible in the earthly scheme of things.

Man can discover and make use of the things of the world and of the physical world, but man cannot discover, on his own, the things from the spiritual realm. It is one of those human limitations that escapes mans reach.

Therefore, through a committed life to the learning of doctrine, something that anyone who wants to really learn of truth and life, then the natural path of learning is to review what you have learned (meditation, thinking about scripture and such).

And our meditation, our thoughts and words when we review them, are redirected back to God, who sees our thoughts, recognizes the truth content of our thoughts, and evaluates us accordingly, for the purpose of determining the nature of our individual inheritance.

Revelation 14:3

Revelation 14:3

http://www.dailybiblestudy.org

3 And [kai] they sung [ado] as it were [hos] a new [kainos] song [ode] before [enopion] the throne, [thronos] and [kai] before [enopion] the four [tessares] beasts, [zoon] and [kai] the elders: [presbuteros] and [kai] no man [oudeis] could [dunamai] learn [manthano] that song [ode] but [ei me] the hundred [hekaton] and forty [tessarakonta] and four [tessares] thousand, [chilias] which [ho] were redeemed [agorazo] from [apo] the earth. [ge] KJV-Interlinear

3 And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders; and no one could learn the song except the one hundred and forty-four thousand who had been purchased from the earth. NASB

These 144,000 are distinguished separate and apart from the masses of people who will live, and die, during the Tribulation, as they will be one of the thrusts of doctrinal teaching, especially the gospel of Christ, as it is evangelized throughout the world, and by them, masses of people will be saved.

Remember that when the Tribulation begins, the entire population of the world will be unbelievers only. All believers will disappear from the earth at the Rapture, so the world in the Tribulation starts without believers.

These 144,000 will find Christ in some way. They will either already have heard the gospel, will already have heard the various prophecies, will already be aware of the events that are associated with the end days, and so forth.

Whatever it is that will come back into their memory, even if it is only the event of the Rapture and they see firsthand that believers are indeed gone, and they were not a part of that. These 144,000 will believe in Christ and they will be hot, as it were, for doctrine, fully moved by the events that are unfolding before them.

Remember also, that in the first half of the Tribulation, one-fourth, of the worlds population will die at the hands of the anti-christs policies. There will also, be catastrophe after catastrophe. And all of these things combined, should cause any normal person to turn to Christ, or at least to God in general.

But that will not be the case. Most people will reject God more and more, and even revert to turning against believers in the harshest of fashions.

Anytime a person believes in Christ, they are also set apart from the world. No longer unbelievers, but now born again into the family of God, and distinguished from the rest of the world. And whether or not you sing or hum or just have a happy feeling, your life takes on a new song, that of salvation and eternal life.

In heaven there will be people and angels beyond counting, who will be singing that new song, and this is a picture of 144,000 people who will be living in the world, and faced with the most horrendous conditions ever in history. And yet they will remain focused on not themselves, but on their mission, which is the evangelization of the world, so that many more will be saved and snatched out of the hands of evil.

Yes, most will die, but then all believers go to heaven and have a destiny in eternity, which is far better than any unbeliever who will find himself in the Lake of Fire.

Remember too, that God did not put any of us here on earth to remain here forever. This life is just the preparatory portion for getting us ready for the next life. If it were for anything else, then your lifespan would be far longer. But we all eventually leave this world. How many folks do you know that remain alive from the earliest part of last century, or the century before that or before that? None.

Since Adam and Eve, billions, and probably trillions of people have been born and died before us. How are we any different? We are not.

Therefore, the new song.

And the new song is before who? The hosts who are in heaven. John identifies those who are in heaven, not those who are on earth.

This chapter is one of celebration and victory. The 144,000 evangelists will be successful, even though they are martyred. The world looks at success in the environment of the world – possessions, privilege, credentials, status and so forth. But those things of the world are empty, because they are temporary and disappear for everyone eventually, when people die.

But in heaven, those things of success, go on forever, and more than that, they are an integral part of ones essence. Which means that they are even more valuable, and more personal and more intimate to ones self.

And who does not learn this new song? Unbelievers.

They do not learn it, because they reject it. And they reject it because they are full of hate and arrogance and evil.

Look to Satan to see the attributes of evil. Whether terrorists, or criminals, or self righteous people, all unbelievers take, or want, or want to prevent others from having anything, including life, property, happiness, etc.

Their agenda is destruction and ruin.

And history reveals the results of their agenda. The ultimate revealing will come in the Tribulation, when humanity will literally try to kill itself off completely.

The tribulation will begin with unbelievers only. Many will eventually believe in Christ, and from the earth they came (unbeliever status), and into a new song they will go (salvation, eternal life, and destiny beyond imagination).

Revelation 14:2

Revelation 14:2

http://www.dailybiblestudy.org

2 And [kai] I heard [akouo] a voice [phone] from [ek] heaven, [ouranos] as [hos] the voice [phone] of many [polus] waters, [hudor] and [kai] as [hos] the voice [phone] of a great [megas] thunder: [bronte] and [kai] I heard [akouo] the voice [phone] of harpers [kitharodos] harping [kitharizo] with [en] their [autos] harps: [kithara] KJV-Interlinear

2 And I heard a voice from heaven, like the sound of many waters and like the sound of loud thunder, and the voice which I heard was like the sound of harpists playing on their harps. NASB

And now John describes a growing crescendo of sound in heaven. A victory song, a victory praise. A victory worship for God and Christ for all that He has done for the defeat of evil and for the benefit and blessing of believers throughout history.

The contrast is being painted.

On the earth is evil and disaster, murder and torture, pain and suffering, bias and prejudice beyond imagination, starvation and death indescribable. Believers are literally pouring into heaven due to the persecutions occurring on the earth.

On the earth is a horrible life that is beyond description.

But in Heaven, there is a growing song of praise, the sound of many waters, or many components. If you have ever attended a concert where there is a small group, joined by a larger group, joined by a choir and so forth. And as each component joins the music production the sound grows and grows into a well orchestrated display of music and sound.

And although this is not a concert being described, the sound or song, in heaven begins with the elders, Rev. 5:9, who are joined by the myriads of angels, Rev. 5:12, to be next joined by every living thing, Rev. 5:13, next joined by the Tribulation martyrs, Rev. 7:9-10, including the Old Testament believers, and the song grows and grows as the Tribulation advances on toward its inevitable end.

The voice of harpists is an expression that means that this song of praise and worship, of victory and promise, has continuity and structure and meaning and purpose and everyone is on the same page.

Whereas, on the earth, everyone is fighting an everyman for himself battle just to survive.

Revelation 14:1

Revelation 14:1

http://www.dailybiblestudy.org

1 And [kai] I looked, [eido] and, [kai] lo, [idou] a Lamb [arnion] stood [histemi] on [epi] the mount [oros] Sion, [Sion] and [kai] with [meta] him [autos] an hundred [hekaton] forty [tessarakonta] and four [tessares] thousand, [chilias] having [echo] his [autos] Father's [pater] name [onoma] written [grapho] in [epi] their [autos] foreheads. [metopon] KJV-Interlinear

1 And I looked, and behold, the Lamb was standing on Mount Zion, and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand, having His name and the name of His Father written on their foreheads. NASB

The lamb is a reference to the work of Christ on the Cross, making His sacrifice in our place, to purchase our lives out of the bondage of eternal condemnation due to sin and death. Defeating both, Christ has paved the way for our salvation, for the mere price of only faith in Him and what He accomplished for us.

Mount Zion is a reference to the vast body of doctrine, in which we are able to acquire completion of our essence in life, through spiritual growth and advancement to maturity.

Accompanying Him in this vision of Johns, are 144,000 believers who were first introduced in chapter seven. These are the evangelists that will spread the gospel throughout the world, to both Jews and Gentiles, ultimately leading many millions of people to faith in Christ and therefore their salvation, during the worst possible circumstances in all of world history.

These 144,000 will have the name of Christ on their foreheads, referring to their mental attitude and faith and commitment to Christ and truth. This in sharp contrast to the masses of people who will have freely imprinted in their minds, their faith in the beast and evil.

The name of His Father, refers to God the Father, who authored the divine plan, the Son carried out that plan. This distinguishes Christianity from all other religions, cults, philosophies, etc. This makes Christianity unique and describes the relationship that believers have with the one true God, whereas all other systems of belief possess no relationship to anything but evil.

What this is not, is, it is not a summation of the only people that are going to be saved in the tribulation. For the Bible is clear in describing that many millions of people will be saved during the Tribulation, perhaps most of which will be due to the evangelistic efforts of these 144,000 Jewish evangelists.

Too many groups have come along in history claiming to be the 144,000, and of course they are only misguided if not deceivingly false in their efforts to attract members or converts, or simply attempting to gain notoriety for themselves.

Revelation is very clear in defining this group of people as those who will live concurrent with the Tribulation, and not in some other era of history. A further description of this group will come up in subsequent verses in this chapter.

Chapter thirteen describes the worst of the worst kind of leadership in all of human history.

Chapter fourteen describes the most phenomenal victory accomplished while faced with the most overwhelming odds in all of human history.

The picture opens up with Christ’s work of salvation, doctrine the food for eternity, and the efforts of evangelism in the face of overwhelming adversity.

With all of their combined power and ability and might, both political, philosophically, and militarily, Satan, and the anti-christ use and abuse their power and position to destroy truth and what is right for everyone.

But, with the Word of truth alone, and no bullets, no rebellion, no underground movement and so forth, God defeats all of the forces of evil in short order.

Revelation 13:18

This study is from an on going online Daily Bible Study at:

Revelation 13:18

http://www.dailybiblestudy.org

18 Here [hode] is [esti] wisdom. [sophia] Let him that hath [echo] understanding [nous] count [psephizo] the number [arithmos] of the beast: [therion] for [gar] it is [esti] the number [arithmos] of a man; [anthropos] and [kai] his [autos] number [arithmos] is Six hundred threescore and six. [chi xi stigma] KJV-Interlinear

18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that of a man; and his number is six hundred and sixty-six. NASB

This is probably the most known number in all of human history, 666, and the most misunderstood and abused by speculation. Used in movies, books and general conversation, even in jokes, this has been used to identify the devil in human form, ever since John scribed this passage over 1900 years ago.

The misunderstanding generally begins when people do not read the entire passage. They see the number of the beast as 666, and there their mind stops and goes no further.

So we look at it in detail.

First, John states that this is wisdom. What is wisdom? Understanding is something that becomes wisdom.

What is understanding? Understanding is the accumulation of facts and details and then putting them together to match perfectly with reality.

Letters and numbers alone do not mean much, but when you begin making words and sentences and such, then understanding develops, regarding the world around you.

But our understanding in this passage is not the number per se, but the ‘calculation’ of the number.

The word for count, ‘psephizo,’ means to count as in the moving of beads on a string in counting an inventory. It means to calculate, to determine an answer. And that is what is being calculated here, the identity of the anti-christ.

John states that he is a man. He is not an angel, not a demon, not some other creature form, but a man. And even though he will be indwelled by Satan, he is still a man who has freely given himself over to Satan.

How do we know?

Because of the number, next stated.

The 666 is the number six, tripled.

In the context, he is called a man. The number of man is six. The number of the trinity or the total essence of the Godhead, is three.

Man was created on the sixth day, Gen 1:26-31, slaves were freed after six years of service, Ex 21:2, fields were to be sown for only six consecutive years, Lev 25:3.

Repeating the number of man three times, draws the illusion of mans identification with deity. In other words, a man who thinks he is god. And not just any god, but the one and only God.

Kings and rulers in the past have tried to make themselves into a god, but they generally referred to a variety of gods such as the Greek gods or the Egyptian gods and such, and not the one true God.

This identification with God, is exactly what Satan has been wanting since his original fall, to be like the Most High. And the anti-christ is Satan’s savior candidate who is competing with Christ.

Now this is the general definition of the number. The actual identification will belong to those who will actually live in that future time. For us this is just an ambiguous term, but clear enough for us to know that given all that we have just studied, people in those last few years of the Tribulation, will be easily fooled with cheap magicians tricks, due to their lack of doctrine, and therefore, when someone comes along with an obvious huge ego desiring to be worshipped as God, they will most likely miss the signs.

We can see the trend and the signs even now, and we do not live in those last days, nor will we ever see them. But those folks will live then, see it all, and miss it all entirely.

This means that that last generation will be full of people who are totally empty of spiritual resources, which will cause them to be so easily fooled, by such obvious falsehoods, even when they are right in front of them.

17 And [kai] that no [hina me] man [tis] might [dunamai] buy [agorazo] or [e] sell, [poleo] save he [ei me] that had [echo] the mark, [charagma] or [e] the name [onoma] of the beast, [therion] or [e] the number [arithmos] of his [autos] name. [onoma] KJV-Interlinear

17 and he provides that no one should be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name. NASB

In the future, not only will people be placed under religious duress, but they will be placed under economic duress as well.

Remember that we are studying the Tribulation. The Tribulation is a seven year period that is still future. When in the future it will occur, is anyone's guess.

The Tribulation is also called ‘the time of Jacob’s trouble,’ ‘Daniels seventieth week,’ and the latter half is called the ‘great tribulation.’

The Tribulation is the final seven years of the dispensation of the Age of Israel. That dispensation was interrupted by our current dispensation, the Church Age, which we are living in right now. Our Church age will end when the Rapture occurs, and then the Age of Israel will resume and conclude with its last seven years of history.

The Rapture is still future and is the only event whose date of occurrence has been left unknown to us. Our Church Age began at the Feast of Pentecost, which occurred fifty days after the Feast of Passover, on which date Christ was crucified. That occurred in approximately 30 A.D.

So if you subtract 30 A.D. from our current year, 2010, then our dispensation has lasted 1,980 years thus far and still counting.

Our dispensation is one of trends. There are no specific prophesies within our dispensation except the terminating event of the Rapture. There are however many ‘signs’ specified in the Bible which will help us identify that we are nearing the end of our dispensation, but none of them specifically state the date of the termination of our era.

These signs are spelled out in the Special Studies segment of the study library online, but some of them are the formation of the nation of Israel, accelerated knowledge, accelerated earthquakes, accelerated travel, accelerated population growth, the formation of identifiable powers in the four directions relative to Israel (north, south, east, and west), an increased great apostasy, and so forth.

There are many signs, which we call trends, but probably one of the most notable signs is the evolving political climate of liberalism or progressivism as it is called today, where we have seen the attempt at forming a government controlled economy, intended to control all aspects of our lives.

In spite of the failed systems of socialism in Europe, the world seems bent on adopting their model and going even further in controlling health care, insurance, the financial industry, the auto industry, employment and so forth.

And when you consider the fact that there is a huge population worldwide that wants to embrace this type of government control, and even riots occur when their benefits are reduced or taken away (France, Greece, Spain, etc.), and when you consider the trend of increased apostasy at the end of our Church Age, then you should see how easily it will be for the anti-christ to come along and impose the most stringent government regulation system ever in history.

In World War 2, the Jews were forced to wear signs and identifying marks. In communist Bulgaria, ration cards were issued, of which it as said, the government, with this little card, could decide who would eat and who would starve.

With the recent health care laws, the government will have the right to impose penalties on anyone who does not have the health plan they authorize. They will have the right to regulate what health care each person can receive. They will have the right to take money out of your bank account if fees are charged for your health care, and if you do not have a bank account, your health care will be cancelled.

The direction of more and more government control is apparent and inevitable. And when the tribulation begins, then the most abusive government control in all of history, will begin and people will suffer like never before.

People will not only be forced to worship evil, but if they do not, then they will not be allowed any economic activity (jobs, food, shelter, clothing, etc.).

People will be forced to comply, or starve and die, or go underground into black market arrangements. And in that last regard, when people are forced into helpless situations then gangs and unruly types will take advantage.

The description of the identification of the beast is expanded here in explanation as to the mark, the name, or the number. This does not mean there are three separate identifiers, but what this is intended to do it to make it very clear, that this is the anti-christ and Satan and evil that is driving the world into disaster.

The number is not a number for it refers to the number of ‘his name.’ The name of the anti-christ is emphasized here, not a number per se. The number is going to identify or clarify the name and therefore the person of the anti-christ.

The next verse will explain a number, and we will get to that tomorrow, but nowhere in the scriptures is the beast or his name or the identification mechanism identified. Only those who will live in that future time, will be the only ones who will be able to know these things.

And that is the purpose of these two verses, this one and the next verse. For this will give those future folks the means of identifying the beast (the anti-christ), and the second beast (the false prophet).

And it gives us, who live in the Church Age, a little insight as to how these things will come to be. We can see the trends of politics developing right before our eyes. And even though we can fight them as best we can, sooner or later, evil will be triumphant as Satan establishes his hold on the world – for a short time anyway.

Psalms 4:8

http://www.dailybiblestudy.org

8 I will both [yachad] lay me down [shakab] in peace, [shalowm] and sleep: [yashen] for thou, LORD, [Yahovah] only [badad] makest me dwell [yashab] in safety. [betach] KJV-Interlinear

8 In peace I will both lie down and sleep, For Thou alone, O Lord, dost make me to dwell in safety. NASB

When in your life are you at your greatest risk of danger? When you are asleep.

When sleeping you are unconscious and rather oblivious to everything that is going on around you. The weather continues. The rivers and streams continue to flow unhindered. The traffic and world around you continue on their way regardless and in spite of your sleeping condition.

When sleeping you are aware of nothing. Whether dreaming or not, the world passes by without any hesitation or pause.

When you wake up, the world has recorded several hours of history which you missed entirely.

While asleep, a fire could occur, a tree could fall on your home, a flood could rise up and sweep you away, a criminal could cause you harm or worse. Nearly anything can happen while you are sleeping. You can even lose sleep because of the worries and stresses of life that prevent much needed rest.

But only weak and spiritually immature people would or could worry or are disturbed about the unknown or the uncertain.

Spiritually mature or spiritually advancing folks have confidence and a mental state of trust in God.

Spiritually mature folks have the same pressures and dangers of life that everyone else has. The only difference between the two, is doctrine learned and resident within the soul of the mature believer.

Peace is a relaxed mental state. Sleep is a state of trust in God. With everything out of and beyond ones control, then there is nothing to be gained through fretting and worry. They will not change your bills or obligations. They will not change your income or resources. They will not resolve one problem.

But without doctrine, the fretting and worrying in life are difficult to control. Therefore, a person needs a resource that gives them inner control and the ability to relax and be at ease.

That resource of Bible doctrine. And through doctrine, and from within your soul, God provides for you a safe place, a refuge, a confidence that helps you to live a mentally easier life.

Your circumstances will not go away, most probably. Your circumstances that you will face in life will vary from time to time, from year to year, from place to place. But God and doctrine are always there, consistent, and reliable.

The first psalm taught us that God has a plan. His plan calls for happiness's (plural) for each of our lives. Happiness’s require a completeness of ones soul, of ones self. The completeness of ones self is accomplished by means of doctrine, by means of learning doctrine, by means of understanding doctrine and growing up and making truth the central foundation of your life.

Bible doctrine is the key to your life. You have to study it daily in order to learn it.

Psalm two taught us that man has a plan and that God has a plan. Mans plans (they are numerous) will all fail. Gods plan will succeed. Gods plan began in eternity past when one member of the trinity was assigned the title, Son of God. The divine plan centers around that person, the Son, who was to accomplish an eternal destiny for all who believe in Him. Rejection or indifference toward Gods plan is arrogance.

The soul is eternal, therefore the reasonable person will plan for the long term of his life (eternity), and not just the short term (this present life).

The third psalm taught us that the world is an enemy. The world does not care for your best interest. The world inundates each person with enticements and unfairness’s, to distract you from God and Gods plan. It is easy to get caught up in the activities of ones life and forget or ignore God, but then the world surrounds you with an almost infinite variety of enemies, most of which you would never recognize as enemies, friendly such as they are. Your own attitude can be your worst enemy.

The fourth psalm teaches us to stand in awe of God, doctrine, and the spiritual life that He alone offers. Conform to His teaching and plan, and your life will be beyond better, and beyond anything that the world can offer.

Gods word, when learned, and adopted for your daily life, promotes peace and confidence and rest within your inner and total essence.

7 Thou hast put [nathan] gladness [simchah] in my heart, [leb] more than in the time [`eth] that their corn [dagan] and their wine [tiyrowsh] increased. [rabab] KJV-Interlinear

7 Thou hast put gladness in my heart, More than when their grain and new wine abound. NASB

Happiness is the ultimate objective of everyone. Regardless of who you are or what you do in life, or what you have, or what your circumstances are, everyone strives for happiness or fulfillment of some sort in their life.

Most folks pursue their happiness by means of things or circumstances, which are things that are external to themselves.

However, God provides a more complete and thorough happiness which resides within the soul, a happiness that becomes an integral part of your very existence and life. This happiness is more than a possession, it is a fundamental component of your essence.

And while people of the world pursue their happiness through things, circumstances, social relationships and such, they really never achieve anything when it is all said and done.

Grain and wine are expressions for the new production of a very fruitful harvest. These refer to the ultimate of prosperities from life from this world.

But no matter what you gain in life from the world, even if it is the entire world, your happiness will never come close to the happiness that God provides through doctrine.

The worlds blessings are temporary at best.

Gods favor (grace), is far better and it lasts forever. Gods favor comes as a result of doctrine in the soul, which you learn through study, and has nothing whatsoever to do with any circumstance of life.

16 And [kai] he causeth [poieo] all, [pas] both small [mikros] and [kai] great, [megas] [kai] rich [plousios] and [kai] poor, [ptochos] [kai] free [eleutheros] and [kai] bond, [doulos] to [hina] [autos] receive [didomi] a mark [charagma] in [epi] their [autos] right hand [dexios], [cheir] or [e] in [epi] their [autos] foreheads: [metopon] KJV-Interlinear

16 And he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand, or on their forehead, NASB

The anti-christ will segregate and divide all people into two common groups – those who will worship him, and those who will not.

Those who do not worship will typically be Christians, but not all people disloyal to the anti-christ will necessarily be Christians. There will certainly be unbelievers who oppose the anti-christ, but they will be dealt with swiftly as they will not have any protection provided them by God, as many believers will have.

The terms small and great, rich and poor, free and slave are expressions that mean to include all categories of people, no matter who they are. There will be no class or category of people left out of this evil policy.

All people will be ordered and obligated to worship the anti-christ, and as a demonstration of their loyalty or obedience, they will be made to bear a mark or identification.

The word for mark, ‘charagma,’ means an etching, a stamp, a badge of identity. And though it has been long believed by many that this was going to be some sort of tattoo or imprint on their body, it more naturally fits the technology of today, for identification cards and such things.

Today you need a coded card for banking, or membership in a store or organization or school. Almost every aspect of our lives today, comes with a card of some sort. You can try to live a cash only life, but as a practical matter, you will need a card even if only for driving, sooner or later. Most infants when born, are given an identification number at birth which they will carry with them all their lives.

So the technology is here, even though it is a good technology and makes life a bit easier and pleasant for us all, but one day, it will be used in an evil way, as the anti-christ will use it to try and enslave and control the masses of people on the planet.

On their right hand, is a reference to the daily activities that people engage in, so people will not be able to live and function without some form of identification. The right hand, ‘dexios,’ refers to the hand that usually takes or accepts, meaning they will reach out and accept this requirement of them.

And on their forehead, is a reference to the mental attitude of people, meaning that they will actively engage in and obey the anti-christs laws. So, by attitude and by hand, people will accept by means of thought and deed, the laws decreed by the anti-christ. This will be a proactive decision, voluntarily made, even though under duress, that will be made by the general population of unbelievers.
