Psalm 35:20
20 For they speak [dabar] not peace [shalowm]: but
they devise [chashab] deceitful [mirmah] matters [dabar] against

For they do not speak peace, but against those who are quiet in the land they
devise words of deceit. ESV
Those who defy Christianity,
do not seek to promote something that is better. They seek to promote deceit,
contentiousness, debate.
They are divisive and
argumentative. They are inordinately
competitive, seeking only to put-down, for the purpose of demoralizing or
promoting hate.
They seek only to advance
themselves, at the expense of others, at any cost.
They are selfish and
self-centered.
Rejection of truth,
amounts to nothing more than the promotion of evil.
