Isaiah 27:8

Isaiah 27:8

8 In measure [ca'c@'ah], when it shooteth forth [shalach], thou wilt debate [riyb] with it: he stayeth [hagah] his rough [qasheh] wind [ruwach] in the day [yowm] of the east wind [qadiym].   KJV-Interlinear

8 Measure by measure, by exile you contended with them; he removed them with his fierce breath in the day of the east wind.   ESV

In measure, God weighs and very carefully considers His punishments, in all aspects, against all who transgress, especially those who belong to Him.

Shooting forth and debate, are phrases for the contentiousness of those who transgress.

The rough wind and east wind, designate the adversity or bad times, or difficulties, that people will encounter, when at odds with God.

But, God stays the course from the perspective of His righteousness, and the demands of justice, which serves to cleanse or wash away the filth of transgression.

God is completely fair.  God considers all circumstances, factors and facets of the transgressor.  God never compromises His principles.
