Psalm 33:22b

Psalm 33:22b

22 Let thy mercy [checed], O LORD [Yahovah], be upon us, according as we hope [yachal] in thee.  KJV-Interlinear

22 Let your steadfast love, O LORD, be upon us, even as we hope in you.   ESV

Your expectations of blessing, should be a reflection of your inner desire and hunger for truth.  If your quest for doctrine is pretended or superficial or non-compliant with Gods rules, then that is the real reflection of your inner desire or lack of it, regardless of your outer performance in front of people.

If you are reluctant to comply with Gods mandates, then it would be unreasonable to expect much in the way of blessing and you certainly should not be surprised when trouble visits your life.

All of these things can be easily dealt with on the personal level, simply by correcting your attitude and changing your desire into a genuine one for learning and understanding exactly what God wants and expects of you, and then pursuing that process as God intends.

But when you don’t take the hints that life gives you, with all of the little or big warnings that are intended to get your attention, then that sort of stubbornness makes your change of heart, just that much more difficult.

The longer you are defiant or resistant or indifferent, the deeper the pit of trouble you are digging for yourself.

On the world scale, look at the many problems that exist or the threat of problems, that should be enough to bring changes in people.

Recently there was the ebola situation in Dallas, where one person arrived in Dallas, infected two others and caused hundreds of others to be placed on a watch list.  Was that enough to bring a change in your life?

Then there was another man in New York, just a day or so ago, a doctor who was treating ebola patients and then came home without going into any sort of quarantine.  He has been back and working for two weeks, and just what will be the repercussions of that incident still remains to be seen?  But yet another threat or warning for society, that the really bad threats are out there and it takes but a little irresponsibility, and simple mistakes to place huge numbers of people in danger of actually dying.

Are those significant enough to bring change in your life?

And going back just a few years, when there was a tsunami in Indonesia or the major earthquake in Haiti where in both instances many hundreds of thousands of people died.  Was that major enough to bring changes in anyone?

On the personal level we have people that take a rather indifferent or belligerent attitude toward authority.

Children disrespect parents, wives disrespect husbands, workers disrespect employers or their jobs, citizens disrespect their own country, politicians abuse the powers of their office, and on and on and on.

And yet it was God who placed authority into motion so as to provide order, not chaos, into the functions of society.  The issue is never whether or not a supervisor is smarter than you, the issue is always the respect required of the positions in view.  And when authority breaks down, then trouble is always very near.

The desired affect is never achieved, when Gods design is ignored, and you think you know better, or you simply do not like your role in life.

Likewise, the desired blessings that one wants, are never received.

These are but a few examples of how to fail and how to perpetuate your own misery, which by the way, is caused by your own decisions and attitudes.

Resisting Gods mandates overflows into all manner of life, wherein instead of complying with and supporting the spirit of truth, you are in effect a participant in the destruction of life itself, as well as yourself.  Then you have only yourself to blame, never someone else.

Who is destroying the world?  Who is destroying society?  Who is destroying themselves?  All who ignore the proper function and application of their spiritual lives.

Life is not a game, but a very serious thing.  How you approach life will determine what kind of quality of life you will or will not enjoy.

God placed you into this world in order to prepare you for life with Him for all of eternity, not for you to set up your own domain of sorts in spite of Him.
