Psalm 31:8
8 And hast not shut me up [cagar] into the hand [yad] of the
enemy ['oyeb]: thou hast set [`amad] my feet [regel] in a large
room [merchab].
KJV-Interlinear
8 And
Thou hast not given me over into the hand of the enemy; Thou hast set my feet
in a large place. NASB
The enemy is the world or
the cosmos, in four different categories.
The first is yourself or your own thoughts. The second category is other people. The
third is bureaucracy. The fourth
consists of all natural disasters or accidental situations.
Collectively, they all
serve to test your spiritual metal in order to get you, or make you, fail in
your spiritual life.
For unbelievers, the
stumbling block is faith in Christ. For
believers, the stumbling blocks are anything that will get you to ignore or be
diverted away from, your spiritual life.
And the world is full of distractions, both pleasant and not so
pleasant.
Being shut up in the
hands of the enemy, means being distracted away from your functional spiritual
life. And, since your own thoughts are controlled
by you, then you are the front line of defense against your own failure.
Being freed from all
categories of enemies, of God and truth, begins with your positive volition
toward bible doctrine.
If you are positive, genuinely
positive and pursue your spiritual life as you would massive treasure, then you
will find yourself in the wide open spaces, a large room, a vast expanse of
freedom, freedom of thought, freedom of movement, freedom in liberty and the
pursuit of real happiness and much more, which is in doctrine, which is in
Christ, which are both the same.
Pursuing doctrine is pursuing
Christ. Pursuing Christ is pursuing
doctrine. Inculcating both within your
soul is achieved through a daily study of bible doctrine. And that is the last and greatest and best frontier,
and opportunity, and freedom, and destiny that can be found nowhere else.
