Psalm 31:7

Psalm 31:7

7 I will be glad [giyl] and rejoice [samach] in thy mercy [checed]: for thou hast considered [ra'ah] my trouble [`oniy]; thou hast known [yada`] my soul [nephesh] in adversities [tsarah];  KJV-Interlinear

7 I will rejoice and be glad in Thy lovingkindness, Because Thou hast seen my affliction; Thou hast known the troubles of my soul,  NASB

The real proof of what is in your soul, comes when you are under adversity.  Prosperity may test the limits of your graciousness or greed, but adversity, real adversity, the kind that places you in a totally helpless situation, brings out the real inner you.

If you fall apart over a broken fingernail, or when you do not get your way, then that does not speak well of you.  Your failure is in selfishness and ungratefulness, certainly in self-centeredness.

If you maintain your poise when under fire, such as in a military invasion, then that speaks very well of you.

And of course there are many situations in between those two examples, in social settings, in business, in employment, in times of disaster or accidents, or in personal loss, and so forth. The list of possible adversity situations is a long one.

But the one thing that is the very same among them all, is the content of your soul, and God reads your soul far better than you.

Considering your trouble, means that God understands the content of your soul and knows exactly why you react the way you do, when you face trouble.

Do you blame God?  Do you blame others?  Do you find fault in things?  Do you get upset when others do not do what you expect of them?  Do you complain, a lot?  Are you opinionated?  Are you intolerant?

Perhaps you do not understand God or life, because you have not committed yourself to a daily study in order to learn what you do not know, or do not want to learn, or perhaps, presuming that you know it all, already.  But then if you complain, or get upset, then perhaps there is something missing in your soul!

God reads you like an open book.  The big question is, are you able to read yourself?  Or, do you even care to make that attempt?

If you knew God, then you would know that He is perfect and not capable of anything imperfect.  Satan is the author of imperfection.

And while Satan and evil in general, care nothing for you, God cares a great deal for you, and takes care of you, even when you are the jerk of jerks.
