Psalm 30:7
7 LORD [Yahovah], by thy favour [ratsown] thou hast made my mountain [harar] to stand [`amad] strong [`oz]: thou didst hide [cathar]
thy face [paniym], and I was troubled [bahal]. KJV-Interlinear
7 O
Lord, by Thy favor Thou hast made my mountain to stand strong; Thou didst hide
Thy face, I was dismayed. NASB
Your entire life is
totally dependent on the grace of God, His favor. Those who do not pursue a daily bible study
will fail, because that is the only way of developing a relationship with God. How you conduct your life with God now,
determines the success or failure that you will have. A casual attitude or pretense will gain you
nothing.
Your life has two major
components. The first is this life in
this world, which is temporary and will last you a few decades at best. The
second is your life in eternity, which will last forever.
With Gods favor, or
grace, your life will be complete and fulfilled. Without it you will have nothing.
Your mountain, is that
which you rely on in order to gain Gods favor.
The mountain is bible doctrine or the vastness of Gods truth. You have to learn it in order to have it.
Without compliance to
Gods mandates for living in and functioning in fellowship, which is the spiritual
life, Gods face is in effect turned away from you. You have no audience with God, as it were. And without that functioning relationship,
you really are on your own, which means that you have nothing.
It is unfortunate that so
many people, as never before in history, have had the opportunity to advance in
their spiritual lives, as easily as they can in these days of internet access,
and yet there is a huge complacent attitude of indifference and no sense of
urgency in pursuing ones spiritual life.
Since your entire
existence and future depends on God, then one would think that the priority of
life would be in building up that relationship, and in the correct way, and not
by means of some false or pretended way.
