Psalm 30:2
2 O LORD [Yahovah] my God ['elohiym], I cried [shava`] unto
thee, and thou hast healed [rapha'] me. KJV-Interlinear
2 O
Lord my God, I cried to Thee for help, and Thou didst heal me. NASB
Lord, ‘yahovah,’ is the
personal reference of the Lord, refers to the self-existent or eternal one, and
when used with the plural form of God, ‘elohiym,’ designates the supreme form
of deity, thus designating the Lord with the highest office and recognition. This makes Jesus Christ who is the Lord, the
highest authority and sovereign and eternally existent God.
This does not negate the
Father or the Spirit in any way, but recognizes the plan of God that designates
Christ as the one and only path to God.
All three members of the Godhead, are co-infinite, co-eternal, and
co-equal, but the path to God is specifically designated to go through Christ,
and not through the other two members of the Godhead.
This approach requirement
removes man and angels arrogant attempts to bypass Christ and go directly to
the Father. Satans arrogance and mans
arrogance attempts this approach to the Father directly which is a rejection of
Gods plan, and a promotion of mans attempt to make himself equal with God, thus
rejecting Gods plan and imposing mans own plan to advance man by means of a
plan of mans design.
This is the plan of
religion, all religion, or man by mans efforts to achieve equality or
acceptance with God.
Remember that the Temple
was built facing east. That is the direction
where the Father sits on his throne.
However, the Father while
sitting in the east faces west toward the temple. The temple and all of its contents speak of
the work of Christ, and thus the plan of God.
The Son of God is a title
assumed by Christ, to differentiate Him from the Father in so far as His role
in Gods plan. The Father authored the
plan, the Son executes the plan and the Spirit makes known the plan.
As a result of Christs
work, He is promoted to the place of highest honor and sovereignty, at the
right hand of the Father. The right hand
is the place of honor. Thus in relation
to the Father who is facing west, the right hand is to the north.
This is where Satan
wanted to be. Namely the throne to the
north or to the right hand of the Father.
And David recognizes this
principle. The Son of God, is the Lord,
who is the Savior, who is infinite and eternal, and God, but also man. There is only one individual who fulfills
that position, and that is Jesus Christ.
David cried to the Lord,
but in the proper form of prayer. All
prayer is directed to the Father in the name of the Lord and while in
fellowship, thus all three members of the Trinity are in view when prayer is
offered correctly.
Healed, ‘rapha,’ means to
mend, to correct, to repair, to make whole, reconcile, restore, rebuild, and
thus to heal.
And it is not the body that
is in view here, but the soul.
When we are born into
this world, our soul is a blank object.
During the course of our life, we learn and grow up both physically and
mentally and hopefully, spiritually.
It is the spiritual
aspect of our growth and life that mends, repairs, restores and makes whole, or
complete, our life.
From salvation and
eternal life, to spiritual growth to maturity, our life is made complete
through the spiritual process of learning, and using and applying doctrine to
our life. And thus it is doctrine, which
is the word of God, which is the written Christ, in us, that completes our
existence.
Without God and without
doctrine, we would be incomplete and therefore nothing.
