Isaiah 18:7

Copyright Ó 2014 J. Neely
Isaiah 18:7ues

7 In that time [`eth] shall the present [shay] be brought [yabal] unto the LORD [Yahovah] of hosts [tsaba'] of a people [`am] scattered [mashak] and peeled [mowrat], and from a people [`am] terrible [yare'] from their beginning hitherto [halaah]; a nation [gowy] meted out [qav-qav] and trodden under foot [mabuwcah], whose land ['erets] the rivers [nahar] have spoiled [baza'], to the place [maqowm] of the name [shem] of the LORD [Yahovah] of hosts [tsaba'], the mount [har] Zion [Tsiyown].  KJV-Interlinear

7 At that time a gift of homage will be brought to the Lord of hosts From a people tall and smooth, Even from a people feared far and wide, A powerful and oppressive nation, Whose land the rivers divide —  To the place of the name of the Lord of hosts, even Mount Zion.  NASB

This chapter begins with the identification of land beyond Ethiopia, a land where the rivers divide, and in Isaiah’s day that is a reference to Africa.  And now, in that time, is a reference to the final days of history, after the greatest judgment of them all, when evil is destroyed and the predatory animals of the world are all gathered together to the great feast, as the dead of humanity are scattered everywhere.

But not all of Africa is evil, as there will be a remnant of survivors, delivered by Christ at the Second Advent, who had lived in the great lands divided by rivers, beyond Ethiopia, namely Africa, during the devastating and evil years of the Tribulation.

And they will come out of their hiding or from wherever they had been living, despite the massive destruction of Africa, and they will go to Jerusalem, where Jesus Christ will set up His capital for the 1000 year kingdom of God here on the earth.

But this reference is not stated as Jerusalem, per se, but as mount Zion.

For Zion is the symbol of Gods dwelling place, which is truth, which is given to us in the form of the scriptures or bible doctrine.  And that is where the remnant is heading, being guided by doctrine which they knew, because the had learned it at some time during those seven years of the Tribulation.

Remember that when the Tribulation begins, there will be only unbelievers on the earth.  All believers will have been initially removed at the Rapture, and then the Tribulation will begin.  So, anyone who believes after the Rapture, will have done so, during the move horrendous time in all of human history.  Learning doctrine in those years will be extremely difficult and anyone trying to be good Christians will have tremendous obstacles to overcome, including but not limited to, crime, gangs, war, famine, government regulations against them, unemployment, starvation, being extremely poor, and probably worst of all, the constant temptation of compromising their new beliefs, which they did not know or have before, in order to survive life.

And as should be obvious, most believers will not be able to stand up against the pressures of life and they will die.  Heaven will fill up fast with the innumerable numbers of Christian martyrs.

But there will be some, even from the remotest of places on the earth, who will believe, who will hold fast to their Christian beliefs, who will learn when learning is near impossible, and they will travel to Jerusalem, because of the doctrine in their souls.  They will be mature believers.

Psalm 30:10

Copyright Ó 2014 J. Neely
Psalm 30:10

10 Hear [shama`], O LORD [Yahovah], and have mercy [chanan] upon me: LORD [Yahovah], be thou my helper [`azar].  KJV-Interlinear

10 "Hear, O Lord, and be gracious to me; O Lord, be Thou my helper."   NASB

The word for hear, ‘shama,’ means to bend down low, to listen intently, to focus on me and my needs.

The word for mercy, ‘chanan,’ means to stoop in kindness to an inferior, to favor, to act with favor.  This is the action of Gods grace, or God actually doing something.  Whereas, grace is Gods favor, then mercy is His action, or grace in action.

Helper, ‘azar,’ means to surround, to protect, to aid.

And whereas we all live in this world, it does not hear our pleas in times of need.  The world shows no mercy, or does nothing really, for us except push enticements and false hopes and false paths in our way.  The world provides no help, no support, no aid, no protection.  This is the devils world, and his world is run by the laws of the jungle, supporting the strong and the quick, and even then, other strong and other quick always come along and remove the former strong and quick and so no one is safe or protected.

To balance out the jungle laws, God has given us the laws of divine establishment which serve to stabilize life and society in this world.

God the Son, who is the savior, who is the second person of the Trinity, who is Jesus Christ, however surrounds the advancing believer, who is in fellowship, with the wall of fire of His grace and divine favor, and hears our every plea, and supports us even when we cannot see it or understand it, preventing the world from swallowing us up into its misery, and promoting us within Gods plan for each of our individual lives.

In the world, we are nothing more than a number, a category, a small link in a very long chain.

But with God, He listens to each one of us personally, listens intently with great focus to each of us, has a personal plan just for us, making each one of us intrinsically valuable beyond imagination.  God interacts directly with us on a one to one and personal basis, through doctrine and through prayer based on that doctrine.

Therefore, you have to learn doctrine and live in doctrine daily, in order to have access to this personal relationship.

And how do you learn bible doctrine?

Psalm 30:9

Copyright Ó 2014 J. Neely
Psalm 30:9

9 What profit [betsa`] is there in my blood [dam], when I go down [yarad] to the pit [shachath]? Shall the dust [`aphar] praise [yadah] thee? shall it declare [nagad] thy truth ['emeth]?  KJV-Interlinear

9 "What profit is there in my blood, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise Thee? Will it declare Thy faithfulness?  NASB

For all who have not believed in Christ, there is no value in life, because they only exist as the flesh or the dust of life.

As an unbeliever, or a non-Christian person, you only exist as body and soul, with no relationship with God, whatsoever.

God is the power and sovereign authority that holds and maintains all things together.  Without God, you have no such power or authority and thus your destiny is one of eternal chaos and the terror that will accompany it with no possible solution.

In order to avoid that, you must acquire a relationship with God.  Something that you cannot do on your own.  However, God has done something for you, so you can gain a relationship with Him and it was the work of Christ on the Cross which paved the way for that relationship.  But in order for you to have it, you have only to believe in Christ, nothing more.

There is no way for you to earn or even to deserve salvation, but God did all that was necessary.  So, to reject God and Christ and doctrine, you are making the fools decision, when all that is required of you is to form a mere thought in your mind, to believe in Christ.  That is really the easiest thing that anyone can do in all of life.

The blood and the pit and the dust, all speak of death and the end of any and all options that you will ever have.

For when death occurs, you have no further thinking, no further activity, no further actions that you can perform in life.  Blood does not speak or think.  Dust does not speak of think.  And the pit only receives that which is worthless and decaying, and no thought or words come out of the pit.

There is no second chance, no reincarnation, no ascension, no do-overs that will bring you back to life or to another life, so you might try and try again at pursuing a course that does not exist.

The corpse does not praise God.  The corpse does not pray to God.  The corpse does not have a spiritual life.

These things must be done while you are alive.

Faith for salvation and a daily study and living in accordance with Gods mandates throughout your life, must be done while you are alive.  Reach your moment of death and you have missed the greatest opportunity that God and life has given you.

So, take advantage of the opportunities that God has given you, and pursue your spiritual life now while you can.

Galatians 6:1

Copyright Ó 2014 J. Neely
Galatians 6:1

1 Brethren [adelphos], if [ean] [kai] a man [anthropos] be overtaken [prolambano] in [en] a [tis] fault [paraptoma], ye [humeis] which [ho] are spiritual [pneumatikos], restore [katartizo] such an one [toioutos] in [en] the spirit [pneuma] of meekness [praotes]; considering [skopeo] thyself [seautou], lest [me] thou [su] also [kai] be tempted [peirazo].  KJV-Interlinear

1 Brethren, even if a man is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, lest you too be tempted.  NASB

As we finished the previous chapter, we saw that pettiness can easily seize control over your life when you lack spiritual resources in your soul.  You acquire spiritual resources in only one way, which is to pursue a daily study, which is to say, a genuine daily study and not some pretended or haphazard reading.

And now we see in the beginning of this chapter that you can easily be caught up in the sins or transgressions of others, by simply reacting to them or to their activities.

And so Paul tells us to not react.

If someone is participating in something that is clearly wrong or abusive, or simply something that does not agree with your beliefs, then do not engage them, do not judge them, do not criticize them, and don’t get into an argument or debate with them.

And this response control likewise applies to things that are done wrongfully or even fairly toward you.  Do not take revenge.  Do not seek reprisal.  Do not try to get even.

And we are speaking of things in the social sense.

In crime or in legal venues, you can and should protect or defend yourself.

But in social settings, and especially with the huge proliferation of online social programs, the keyboard seems to empower and embolden those who would not otherwise be so bold in face to face confrontations.

This is the devils world and every human being has a sin nature, so there will always be those who will take cheap shots.

Do not lecture them, or otherwise entrap yourself in the merits or the lack of merits of their activities.  Refrain yourself.  Restrain yourself.  Do not lower yourself to their level, not even with self-righteous comments.

Simply withdraw and turn your attention to something else.

God, in all of His wisdom and brilliance will deal with transgressors, and He will do it in His way, and in accordance with His timeframe.

Sometimes Gods handling will be swift, other times it many take decades.  But, God deals with all people in grace.  He knows what they will respond to and what they will not respond to, and more important, when the timing is best for an effective correction.

God is patient, even though we are not so patient.  God can deal with someone throughout their entire life, even over the span of decades. Whereas we would want something immediate and permanent and even overwhelming.  Which is to say that is why none of us have been placed in charge of the social disciplining of others.

Galatians 5:26

Copyright Ó 2014 J. Neely
Galatians 5:26

26 Let us [ginomai] not [me] be [ginomai] desirous of vain glory [kenodoxos], provoking [prokaleomai] one another [allelon], envying [phthoneo] one another [allelon].  KJV-Interlinear

26 Let us not become boastful, challenging one another, envying one another.   NASB

One of the biggest failures in human personality is the tendency to become petty, making mountains out of molehills, making huge issues over little nothings.  Unreasonable expectations, inordinate ambitions, inordinate competitions lead to gossip and maligning and all manner of social disorder.

Empty glory or vanity, provoking or challenging or bullying, envy or jealousy, all of these arise out of a weak huge foundation of a dysfunctional life.

And when society is filled with this type of behavior, then younger generations become more and more violent, while older generations with their pettiness can’t figure it out.

With everyone stuck deep in their opinions, truth is squeezed out and something like insanity becomes the norm, and stupid becomes reasonable, and reason becomes unreasonable.

Here, the Galatians were arguing over circumcision, of all things.  A nothing topic that should be obvious to all that it does not apply to all.  Something that applies to only one segment of a population, and in this case men only, cannot possibly be a prerequisite for something like salvation, which does affect all people, male and female.

Any measure of human works or human good, cannot possibly be applied fairly and evenly across all peoples, because people have sin natures and people will inevitably fail at everything sooner or later.

Thus, the Law which Moses put into writing, is not the textbook of human life or human behavior, but written proof that people cannot live up to the standards of the Law, and thus need a higher law, namely Christ, who can obtain perfection in our behalf, because we cannot.

Therefore, faith is the only thing that apples fairly to all, requiring no human effort, and establishing no human credit for something that they did not and cannot do.

The only way to avoid this petty behavioral trap is to obey Gods mandates.

Believe in Christ first, in order to be saved, and then after salvation, then live your life, for the rest of your life, in fellowship by means of confession of your sins, and function within your life by means of doctrine which you must learn through a daily bible study.
