Isaiah 14:3
3 And it shall come to pass in the day [yowm] that the LORD [Yahovah]
shall give thee rest [nuwach] from thy sorrow [`otseb], and from thy fear [rogez],
and from the hard [qasheh] bondage [`abodah] wherein thou wast made to serve [`abad], KJV-Interlinear
3 And it will be in the day when
the Lord gives you rest from your pain and turmoil and harsh service in which
you have been enslaved, NASB
We have all heard the
phrase, no more sorrow, no more tears, no more pain, no more death, the old
things have passed away. And, we know that this applies to believers after they
die and go to heaven. The sorrow and tears and pain and death all belong to
this life in this world.
But there will be a
time for humanity in this life, when the burdens of life, namely sorrow and
fear and bondage, which are just descriptive terms of the problems and troubles
that we all face in this life, will vanish.
Continuing on from the
previous verse, when the people who will survive the tribulation, enter into
life in the millennium under the rule of Christ, then life is going to change
dramatically.
We have already seen in
our studies in Isaiah, that nature will change dramatically, the geography of
the world will change dramatically, the personalities and habits of animals
will change dramatically, the environment will change dramatically, even the
lifespan of people and the general health of people will change dramatically.
In the previous verse
we saw how the evil influences of our current world, will vanish. There won’t
be any religions, nor will there be ridiculous philosophies or beliefs, even
political correctness will fade into oblivion, and far left and far right ideas
will vanish.
There will be only the
word of God, which is truth, by which Christ will rule.
The slavery to
prejudice and bias and the unfair circumstances of life will no longer exist
during the millennium.
And we see in this
verse, that the burdens of life will cease, and the sorrows of life will cease,
and even the fears of life and the insecurities of life will be no more.
What we have in this
world today is the influence of Satan. And in the millennium that influence
will not exist.
Today we have people
who can freely think and discern and make up their minds.
In the millennium
people will still be able to freely think and discern and make up their minds.
But the big difference
between the two periods of time, is the existence or nonexistence of the evil
that comes from Satanic influence.
Christ will rule for
one thousand years. There will be unbelievable prosperity, no war, not even the
implements of war or violence, or things of that nature that exist today.
People will still be
people, but without the influence of Satan, the whole outlook on life in the
millennium will be dramatically different than it is now.
All of the negatives
that you can identify now in this world, are due to some form of influence that
comes from Satan. And that evil influence drives humanity in the wrong
direction, which further compounds the influence of evil, and the negative
results of evil.
In the garden there was
perfect environment. After sin came into the world that perfect environment
deteriorated, and continues to deteriorate.
Long, long ago, the
universe was created perfect, but when Satan committed his first sin, and
continued on sinning, then the nature of the universe began to deteriorate.
When Satan is locked
away at the beginning of the millennium, then that huge influence will no
longer exist, and that will give way to a perfect environment, to a perfect set
of circumstances, to a potentially perfect life for everyone.
But as we have already
seen in other studies, people will still reject Christ in spite of their
perfect environment and circumstances and lives.
So the world around you
no matter what it’s condition good or bad, is not the answer to life. Only
faith in Christ, and Bible doctrine in the soul, can bring the correct
perfection and happiness and prosperity and security and all things that are
good, into your life.
