Isaiah 14:32

Copyright Ó 2013 J. Neely
Isaiah 14:32ues

32 What shall one then answer [`anah] the messengers [mal'ak] of the nation [gowy]? That the LORD [Yahovah] hath founded [yacad] Zion [Tsiyown], and the poor [`aniy] of his people [`am] shall trust [chacah] in it.  KJV-Interlinear

32 "How then will one answer the messengers of the nation? That the Lord has founded Zion, And the afflicted of His people will seek refuge in it."  NASB

What then will be the answer of people who are subjected to Gods judgment and destruction and/or loss of reward when their day comes and God calls them out of this world?

What is the answer of a person who rejects the Word of God, of a person who ignores the Word of God, of a person who thinks lightly of anything and everything that God discloses within the scriptures?

Isaiah wrote these words well over 2700 years ago and since that time people have had ample opportunity to know, in some fashion, their content, the promises of God, the mandates of God, the warnings of God, the innumerable disclosures of God, and yet people throughout the generations, even in our present day of phenomenal communication capabilities, have taken little or no interest in what Gods clearly states and expects.

God founded Zion.  What is that?

Zion is said to be Gods place of dwelling.  God is truth.  Doctrine is Gods revelation of truth to man.  Doctrine is mans window and doorway to a relationship with God.  And for those who seek Him, who pursue Him, who abide by Gods rules, then God provides protection and a destiny, not to mention the process of spiritual completion that is needed by everyone, lest they live life as incompletes.

The poor, refers not to financial poor, but spiritually poor within this world.  This world cannot protect anyone nor give them an eternal future.  Wealth, real wealth, permanent wealth comes through doctrine and is made available in eternity, not now.

The poor, those who are lacking from the resources of this world, spiritually speaking, can look to God, through Zion, His place of dwelling, which is truth, which is Bible doctrine.  And one looks to God through doctrine by learning it on a daily basis and by being obedient to Gods process for spiritual development and growth and completion.

And so everyone knows that there is a God.  Most try to pursue Him on their own terms, not on Gods terms.  Rejecting Gods terms is to reject God.  You cannot have it both ways, for when you reject Gods way you reject God. And no amount of pretense or invention will change that into your favor.

The generations have been warned, and yet the generations have seen individual and country and empire rise and fall simply because of their anti-God agenda.  That will continue until God calls a halt to history, and then it will all end.

Every person has been notified either by the very nature of creation all around us, or by the concepts, even bits and pieces, of truth that are spread throughout all of societies norms and standards.

No one has any excuse for not pursuing God and truth and their own spiritual life, except that they simply choose not to follow Gods procedures for that purpose, they choose to not support the correct promotion of the Word of God for others, they choose to not comply with Gods mandates for a dedicated learning process of their own.

They instead conform to the confusion of delusional thinking in this world that has no connection to reality or truth.

And that is why people will fail, and that is why people will howl in great sorrow when their time comes to an end.

And the only person that you can blame for your failures, is the one who is always looking back at you when you look in the mirror.

Isaiah 14:31

Copyright Ó 2013 J. Neely
Isaiah 14:31ues

31 Howl [yalal], O gate [sha`ar]; cry [za`aq], O city [`iyr]; thou, whole Palestina [Palesheth], art dissolved [muwg]: for there shall come [bow'] from the north [tsaphown] a smoke [`ashan], and none shall be alone [badad] in his appointed times [mow`ad].  KJV-Interlinear

31 "Wail, O gate; cry, O city; Melt away, O Philistia, all of you; For smoke comes from the north, And there is no straggler in his ranks.  NASB

To howl, ‘yalal,’ is to cry out in anguish, in a wailing tone of tears and terror and sorrow.

And Philistia, or the minor opponents of Judah, will be dissolved, destroyed, removed from existence, never to exist again.

None will miss their appointed time.  God has set judgment against all evil and there will not be any who escape, none who will be overlooked.  None will die alone, but all will die collectively as enemies of God.

The smoke from the north, is the destruction coming from Christ.  It is Christ who occupies the seat at the right hand of the Father, on the sides of the north.  The seat that Lucifer has lusted for all of these many ages.

And so all of humanity has been formally notified.  Unfortunately most of humanity ignores these words, nor do they even know of their existence, for most do not inquire of God or of truth or of the genuine realities of life.  They all pursue their own delusions of self-existence. And yet it is Christ who is the self-existent one, ‘I Am.’

And so all that is left for those who reject God and truth, is the howling in tears of anguish and sorrow until their howls cease never to be heard again.

It is a sad thing, when all of this knowledge and opportunity is readily available, and yet most seem to not have even the slightest of interest.

Isaiah 14:30

Copyright Ó 2013 J. Neely
Isaiah 14:30ues

30 And the firstborn [bakowr] of the poor [dal] shall feed [ra`ah], and the needy ['ebyown] shall lie down [rabats] in safety [betach]: and I will kill [muwth] thy root [sheresh] with famine [ra`ab], and he shall slay [harag] thy remnant [sha'eriyth]. KJV-Interlinear

30 "And those who are most helpless will eat, And the needy will lie down in security; I will destroy your root with famine, And it will kill off your survivors.  NASB

Philistia, being along the border of Judah, constantly harassed those border villages and residents of Judah.

Consequently, people who lived along those border territories were in a constant state of danger and unrest.  They would never know if or when a raiding party might happen along, whether this month or next month, whether this year of next year, and so forth.

Since no one really knows when danger is lurking until the raiders are seen advancing on them, they have no time, or very little time, to get prepared and/or to safety.

Anyone who was poor was never prepared, nor able to prepare themselves for any sort of life difficulty, let alone raiders.  Life is full of difficulties, from weather, injuries, accidents, lack of money or resources, pressures from laws and regulations and such, and it is the poor who suffer the most from life's circumstances.

When you add in the threat of random and spontaneous raids from enemies that care nothing for you, then life becomes downright unbearable and always uncetain.

Now, this verse emphasized the infants of the poor.

Since the poor are typically the most at risk in any situation, then the mention of their babies indicates younglings that are even more at risk, as babies cannot take care of themselves, and are dependent on their poor parents, who themselves cannot take care of themselves nor keep themselves safe.

The infants then, are the most poor of the poor, the most at risk of those at risk.

And yet, when God is finished with cleaning up the evil enemies from all corners, then the picture changes.

Shall feed and lay down in safety, means total and complete safety and comfort and security.

And their safety is due to the promise made here, that God will not only stop the raiders, but God will totally remove their existence from the earth.

The word for kill, ‘muwth,’ means just that.  God will destroy the enemies by killing them, resulting in their death, needless to say.  The dead pose no more threats.

The root, is a reference to that posterity that grows up out of a stump.  The stump referring to the parent who starts the next generation, the root.  But when the stump is killed, then the root or off spring is starved, as it were, and thus dies due to the lack of any form of support mechanism.  No parents, no offspring.  No prior generation, then no subsequent generation.  Nothing to sustain or perpetuate the old ways of evil.

And the remnant, of the enemy, or anyone left over, simply dies or fades away from history by default.

The intent here is that, at the end of history, when Christ is finished with His work of eliminating all evil from the earth, and this certainty is made clear, then even the poorest and most vulnerable will now be safe for the remainder of their lives.

All risks and threats and dangers from any and all enemies as the world has known, will cease to exist.

And even though this is stated as a warning against all would-be enemies of Gods people, it is intended to be a comfort to all of Gods people, that no matter what you face in life, and even though you do not live in that final generation of history, you are always under His protection and safety.

The world will try as it may, to destroy you, to keep you in a state of fear, to push you into a depression wanting you to give up on life or worse, just so the world can defeat you.  But God is always there and your destiny is always there, and doctrine is always there, so that you can know that no matter what befalls you in life, you will end up a winner if you simply persevere.

Know this, that raiders are always out there in life.  Your raiders may be economic or health issues, or whatever, and God will allow them to come and go at will, but no matter what the world throws your way, God is always there and your spiritual growth process is always there, for you to achieve the spiritual self-completion that God intends for you, and when it is all said and done, you will be a hero of the angelic conflict, and there is nothing that Satan, or demons, or life's difficulties can do to change or prevent that.

Life has to go to great lengths to destroy you.

All you need do is study doctrine, remain in fellowship, and in effect do nothing by comparison, and you will be the winner.  God does all of the work.

Isaiah 14:29

Copyright Ó 2013 J. Neely
Isaiah 14:29ues

29 Rejoice [samach] not thou, whole Palestina [Palesheth], because the rod [shebet] of him that smote [nakah] thee is broken [shabar]: for out of the serpent's [nachash] root [sheresh] shall come forth [yatsa'] a cockatrice [tsepha`], and his fruit [pariy] shall be a fiery [saraph] flying [`uwph] serpent [saraph].  KJV-Interlinear

29 "Do not rejoice, O Philistia, all of you, Because the rod that struck you is broken; For from the serpent's root a viper will come out, And its fruit will be a flying serpent.  NASB

The warning continues.  Even though there is coming a leadership change, and even though Judah may be perceived as in a weaker state and susceptible to an attack, that is not to fool anyone who would have such ideas of attacking or taking advantage of Judah.

Whole Philistia, is a reference to the whole of Palestine.

Palestine means, land of the Philistine.  But it also means, land of the stranger, or land of the sojourners.

Philistia was located to the southwest of Judah, along the Mediterranean Sea.  The Philistines engaged in war with Judah, frequently, and had been put in their place by Uzziah, who here is being referred to as the serpent.

Not that Uzziah was a serpent, but from the perspective of the Philistines, he was viewed as a pain in their side and plans.

When Uzziah died and the reigns of power went to Ahaz, then the Philistines viewed this change as a weakness in Judah.  This view was furthered when Ahaz died, moving the reigns of power to an even more inexperienced leader, Hezekiah.

But God here warns them, the Philistines, as well as all foreigners whomever they might be, that even though there was a serpent in their eyes in the form of Uzziah, there is yet another and greater serpent coming that would end their existence forever.

The word for serpent, ‘nachash,’ is a general term referring to any serpent, not so much as a poisonous threat, but a nuisance to anyone who had to deal with it.

The word for cockatrice, ‘tsepha,’ refers to a highly toxic and venomous serpent, far more dangerous and fatally dangerous than any common serpent.

The root here, refers to a specific root that comes out of a dead stump.  Jesus has often been referred to as the root that will spring out of the stump of Jesse, and so here the reference to the far more dangerous threat, is to that of Christ.

In the next verse the root of Philistine, will be killed, never to exist again.

And so here is a warning to Philistia, but more than that, it is a warning to any and all who might perceive Judah, or Israel, or the Jewish peoples, as being weak and an easy target of opportunity, that they cancel their plans because there is a far greater power that they would have to deal with, if in fact they invade or even challenge Judah, etc., in any way.

That result will be their destruction.

In this warning, there is also the promise and the secure feeling for Gods people, that God protects his own.

And especially when the final days of history arrive, then all evil will be destroyed and removed from history, leaving Gods people the sole survivors and victors over evil in all of its forms.

In the final days of history, Judah will be terribly compromised by larger powers, but there will also be lots of smaller groups or individuals or nobody's, who will try to take advantage of their weaknesses for their own gain.

But those plans of smaller peoples will not succeed.  Israel will survive despite overwhelming odds against them, as well as the innumerable petty plans of other smaller adversaries.

Isaiah 14:28

Copyright Ó 2013 J. Neely
Isaiah 14:28ues

28 In the year [shaneh ] that king [melek] Ahaz ['Achaz] died [maveth] was this burden [massa']. KJV-Interlinear

28 In the year that King Ahaz died this oracle came: NASB

Prior to King Ahaz, the Philistines had been subdued by the predecessor of Ahaz, who was Azariah, 2 Kg. 15:1, also known as Uzziah, 2 Chron. 26:1.

While Ahaz was preoccupied with Samaria and Syria, the Philistines took back a few of the cities, 2 Chron. 28, and had their eyes on taking more of Judah.

When Ahaz died, approximately 716 B.C., the Philistines saw that the reign of Hezekiah seemed to be weak, and so they planned to invade Judah, and here God warns them that any such invasion would not go well for them.

And thus this series of verses is made to give comfort to Judah, at the time of Ahaz’s death and a change in leaders was at hand.

Even though the verses in this warning are directed toward Philistia, the intent here is to give comfort and assurance to Judah, that any plans of the Philistines, would be thwarted, leaving Judah safe.

Isaiah 14:27

Copyright Ó 2013 J. Neely
Isaiah 14:27ues

27 For the LORD [Yahovah] of hosts [tsaba'] hath purposed [ya`ats], and who shall disannul [parar] it? and his hand [yad] is stretched out [natah], and who shall turn it back [shuwb]?  KJV-Interlinear

27 "For the Lord of hosts has planned, and who can frustrate it? And as for His stretched-out hand, who can turn it back?"  NASB

The title of God, Lord of Hosts, is a designation of Gods universal sovereignty, authority and command over any and all armies or entities.  Thus God controls history, since He possesses sovereign command over all that is.

His proposed state of the outcome of history, and of his plan, comes not by chance or by spontaneous action, but from patient and diligent deliberation and determination over all of the facts of history.  God is fair and thorough, leaving nothing to chance, but dealing only with certainties.

Therefore with sovereign control, and with thorough consideration, then who can argue against such truth?

And that answer is that evil will argue, because evil is selfish and self-centered and is never concerned with truth or facts, only with its own lust for that which God possesses, namely control and authority and autonomy, which it will never possess.

His hand stretched out, is the final word and decision of God.

No one is higher than God.  No one is better than God.  No one can out do God.  No one knows more than God.  No one can function or even exist without God.

Therefore, this verse is here to give assurance and confidence to those who are, or will be, under the burdens and pressures and dangers and threats of life.

If you have aligned yourself up with Gods will, then there is nothing and no one, nor any circumstance that can remove you from Gods protection.

And what exactly is Gods will?

For you to believe in Christ, who is God, and thus be saved from eternal condemnation and separation from God, and thus have eternal life and to live in heaven with Him forever.

For you to desire knowledge and understanding of truth.

For you to comply with His design and procedure for learning knowledge and understanding.

For you to confess your sins on a regular basis in order to live in continual fellowship with God.

For you to live your spiritual life as God intended for you to live it, meaning for you to grow up spiritually by means of your daily study, while in fellowship, and use what you learn in your daily life, thus having a spiritually productive life, in anything and everything that you do in life.

For you to advance to spiritual maturity and therefore become complete within yourself and with God.

As for the rest of your earthly life, that is there for you to learn and understand and become oriented to Gods truths, providing you with innumerable examples with which to measure and gauge your life.  To sustain you in this world while you grow up spiritually.  To help you learn responsibility and accountability with respect to your obligations to self, to others, and to God.

This is Gods desire and resolve.  Comply with His mandates and you cannot fail in life.  The objective of your life is to become complete as God defines completeness, not as you define convenience.

Disregard Gods design, and then of course you fall in with everything that is against, or trying to live against, Gods design, and that means certain and utter failure for you.

In the bigger picture, God controls history, and evil though it will have had its freedom to operate at will throughout history, will certainly cease when God decides that its time is over.

Isaiah 14:26

Copyright Ó 2013 J. Neely
Isaiah 14:26ues

26 This is the purpose [`etsah] that is purposed [ya`ats] upon the whole earth ['erets]: and this is the hand [yad] that is stretched out [natah] upon all the nations [gowy].  KJV-Interlinear

26 "This is the plan devised against the whole earth; and this is the hand that is stretched out against all the nations.  NASB

The word for purpose, ‘etsah,’ means advice, counsel, plan, by means of prudence or foresight or judiciousness or farsightedness.

The word for proposed, ‘ya ats,’ means to advise or deliberate or results, to determine.

The phrase, whole earth, means just that. It refers to the entirety of the known earth. And back in Isaiah’s day that would include all of the known nations from northern Africa, throughout the Middle East, and further east through Persia and beyond into India and beyond. Today, the known earth refers to the entire planet.

And since this prophecy applies to the final days of history, then the reference applies to the entire planet, or all nations or all of humanity.

The demise and destruction of Babylon, which is symbolic of the removal of Satan and his influence over humanity, as well as the demise and destruction of Assyria, which is symbolic of the removal of the evil of man over humanity, has been determined with great deliberation and forethought and consideration by God, and that removal of evil would obviously have an impact on the entire planet, on all nations, and on all people.

This destruction will come as a means of the application of justice in judgment from God.

The need for this destruction will occur because of Satan’s evil, and man’s adherence to evil, rather than to God’s truth.

By the time the Tribulation arrives, every principle of truth and every guideline of divine establishment will have been violated and thrown out by the people and the nations of the world. The world in effect, brings all of this judgment on itself because of its own rejection of truth, in favor of the ludicrous systems of belief influenced by Satan and invented by man.

The hand that is stretch out, is the sovereign will of God.

Jesus Christ controls history. Satan does not control history. Man does not control history.

Isaiah 14:25

Copyright Ó 2013 J. Neely
Isaiah 14:25ues

25 That I will break [shabar] the Assyrian ['Ashshuwr] in my land ['erets], and upon my mountains [har] tread him under foot [buwc]: then shall his yoke [`ol] depart [cuwr] from off them, and his burden [cobel] depart [cuwr] from off their shoulders [shakem].  KJV-Interlinear

25 to break Assyria in My land, and I will trample him on My mountains. Then his yoke will be removed from them, and his burden removed from their shoulder.  NASB

With the promise of the breaking of the power and evil of Babylon, which is still future with respect to Isaiah’s day, God now promises to break the back of Assyria, which is the current threat in Isaiah’s day, toward Judah.

Babylon is a future threat. Assyria is a current threat.

The phrase, my land and my mountains, from Gods perspective, is a specific reference to Judah and Israel, but it is also a reference to any place where God’s people live. And that of course includes the entire world.

Babylon symbolically represents Satan and all of his evil. Assyria symbolically represents all of the evil of man.

One day, at the second advent of Christ, all sources of evil will be destroyed and all instruments of evil and its influence will be forever removed from history.

When Christ begins his millennial reign, nothing of Satan, and nothing of prior human history, will enter into the kingdom of God here on earth.

All of the burdens and barriers and problems of life that are common to humanity, will cease, and a new era under the rule of Christ will begin and continue for a period of 1000 years.

Isaiah 14:24

Copyright Ó 2013 J. Neely
Isaiah 14:24ues

24 The LORD [Yahovah] of hosts [tsaba'] hath sworn [shaba], saying ['amar], Surely as I have thought [damah], so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed [ya`ats], so shall it stand [quwm]: KJV-Interlinear

24 The Lord of hosts has sworn saying, "Surely, just as I have intended so it has happened, and just as I have planned so it will stand, NASB

This is an emphatic statement of certainty.

The phrase, I have thought, means the design and intent that God has foreseen in eternity past. And therefore, just as God has foreseen, then so it shall be.

And as God has purposed, refers to his divine decision and determination based on all of the facts of history.

And finally, the phrase, so shall it stand, simply means that nothing in history will change this outcome.

And that is our lesson from this verse.

These verses were written by Isaiah over 2800 years ago. Anyone and everyone who has ever lived and has been able to read or hear or learn, has had ample opportunity to know this text, and this prophecy.

The Bible discloses innumerable details of future events. People from generation to generation throughout history have been familiar with these prophecies, or have had opportunity to become familiarized with these prophecies.

But even the knowledge and even the understanding of the way things are going to be, is insufficient for anyone to change the ultimate outcome.

Satan for example, knows all of these prophecies in detail. He knows the certainty of Gods promise of his own demise, and yet Satan disregards all, believing that he is going to be able to overcome these prophecies and defeat God.

People throughout history, have opportunity to read and study the Bible and know their obligations and responsibilities, and understand the rules and mechanics for spiritual growth, and of the function of the spiritual life. And yet knowing, is insufficient to get them to make the right choices and pursue life as God intends for people to pursue life.

When people lack Bible doctrine in their soul, which simply means they have not taken the time to study or be taught doctrine on a regular basis day after day during their lives, then they lack truth, and they lack discernment, and they lack orientation to all of the many facets of life, which includes all of history that has gone before, as well as lacking understanding of contemporary events and where it is all heading.

Somehow, naïve people believe they can change history and either postpone or prevent the ultimate outcome of human destruction and the end of the world. And as noble a purpose that this might be, it disregards the fundamental sin nature of people, and the ultimate results of people rejecting truth, by their own choice.

Of the many trends that the Bible has used to describe our current dispensation, which we call the church age, many are notable and obvious, such as the rise in earthquake numbers, the rise in world population, the rise in science and knowledge, and such things.

But the one prediction made by both Paul and Jesus, described as the ‘great apostasy,’ will not be so easily identified, simply because the very nature of apostasy, which is indifference toward truth due to a fixated fascination of other beliefs, will blind everyone from seeing the error of their ways and therefore this prediction.

And that is the last great and final characteristic of our dispensation, which will exist prior to and during the time of the rapture. The rapture is the termination event of our dispensation. Then the seven year tribulation will take center stage.

With the restraint of sin removed, the worst evil of every possible kind will reveal itself, and occur during the tribulation. And not because God causes it, because he does not. But because people of their own free will will choose against truth, against learning doctrine under instruction, against confession in order to keep themselves in fellowship with God, against spiritual growth as God intends for everyone, and instead they will pursue evil because they choose to pursue evil.  They will refuse to disregard Gods defined responsibilities and roles for them in life.

And so these events of the tribulation and the very end of the tribulation, at the second advent, will occur with certainty.

No amount of sincerity, no amount of good intentions, no amount of believing that they can be changed, will ever change the ultimate outcome of human history.

And so God through Isaiah, clearly states here, that these events have been foreseen, that these events are by mans free choice, and therefore these events will occur. And as a result of man’s evil, God will bring it all to an end.

The same principle applies to your individual personal life. Continue pretending that you know what you’re doing, refuse to engage in a daily study of the word of God, and that means daily study, remain indifferent and apathetic toward Gods mandates in preference for the convenience of your own beliefs, and you will suffer the same outcome, perhaps not as dramatic or intense as in the tribulation, but nonetheless a failure for yourself in life.

The Bible is not a children’s book, nor a book that collects dust on the shelf, but it is the manual for the completed and fulfilled life of the individual. All you have to do is figure that out.

Isaiah 14:23

Copyright Ó 2013 J. Neely
Isaiah 14:23ues

23 I will also make [suwm] it a possession [mowrash] for the bittern [qippowd], and pools ['agam] of water [mayim]: and I will sweep [tuw'] it with the besom [mat'ate'] of destruction [shamad], saith [na'um] the LORD [Yahovah] of hosts [tsaba'].  KJV-Interlinear

23 "I will also make it a possession for the hedgehog, and swamps of water, and I will sweep it with the broom of destruction," declares the Lord of hosts.  NASB

It, is a word that refers to Babylon. Babylon is a term that symbolizes the embodiment of Satan and evil.

The word bittern, refers to rodents, or wild life that lives in or near swamps or marshes. This can include anything from porcupines or hedgehogs, to long legged marsh birds.

The word besom, refers to a broad and wide broom, that sweeps everything in its path, completely away.

Isaiah continues the Lord’s description of the complete and total destruction and annihilation, in terms that render everything after the destruction, as uninhabitable.

And this completes with certainly, the total removal of Satan and his policies and his influence, with no residue whatsoever, from planet earth, from all of creation, and certainly from the human realm.

When Christ begins his millennial reign here on earth, it will begin without any contamination from philosophy or religion, or influence that was originated by Satan either directly or indirectly, and had been carried on throughout history up until this time of his removal.

Isaiah 14:22

Copyright Ó 2013 J. Neely
Isaiah 14:22ues

22 For I will rise up [quwm] against them, saith [na'um] the LORD [Yahovah] of hosts [tsaba'], and cut off [karath] from Babylon [Babel] the name [shem], and remnant [sha'ar], and son [niyn], and nephew [neked], saith [na'um] the LORD [Yahovah].  KJV-Interlinear

22 "And I will rise up against them," declares the Lord of hosts, "and will cut off from Babylon name and survivors, offspring and posterity," declares the Lord.  NASB

The end of Satan is described.

Satan is a king want-to-be. His arrogance drove himself and everyone, out of a perfect universe into one that has suffered the influence of his evil for a very long time.

Evil is his policy, and wickedness is the production of that policy. Anyone and everyone who rejects God, or is indifferent toward God, or is apathetic toward God, or simply doesn’t care about God, automatically subscribs to Satan’s policy of evil.

There are only two philosophies with which you can guide your life. The first is truth, which comes from God, and the second is evil, which comes from Satan. Evil is anything and everything that rejects truth, compromises truth, finds excuses to set aside truth, or any and all attempts to define one’s own standards for truth in place of truth.

Satan is the ruler of this world. In his mind he is a king and royalty, and surrounded by his faithful followers.

Most people probably do not think of themselves as Satan followers, but unfortunately any and all who reject God’s way of doing things, or presume they can define their own way through life, are by default followers of Satan, simply because they do not comply with Gods mandates.

As we studied in the previous verse, the children of Satan, are his firstborn sons. These are not literal sons, or people, but evil is his son, his pride and joy, which he wants to see perpetuated throughout history.

In the royal line, there is the king and queen at the top of course, and next to them would be their brothers and sisters, as far as line of succession is concerned, and beneath all of that would be children, nieces and nephews.

All of these are references to heirs or mechanisms for perpetuating the royal line, or the royal decrees.

Babylon, as we have already seen, is the symbolism for Satan, his empire, his plan, his policies, and everything he has and does to execute his own plan, in opposition of God.

But at the end of history, God is going to change all that, and put it all to an end.

He is going to cut off Babylon, which is the concept of Satan’s Empire. He is going to cut off the name, referring to the firstborn pride and joy, which is evil. He is going to cut off the remnant, which refers to evil programs and policies that are in place on planet earth up to the time of Satan’s demise. And God is going to cut off all future possibilities, referred to here as the son and the nephew.

This will all occur at the second advent. Evil will be cut off. Evil in every form, including various concepts of government such as socialism or communism and so forth, including every form of religion such as Buddhism, or Hinduism, or Islam, including every form of philosophy such as evolution and so forth.

Every aspect of evil, everything that Satan has had his hand in, one way or another, whether religions, or philosophies, or forms of government, or social norms and standards, everything that attacks God and truth, and the divine establishment principles, all of these will come to an abrupt end.

Christ will rule for the next 1000 years. Satan’s influence will not exist at all. So, man during those next 1000 years will have only truth to guide him, or his own imagination as far as what he will or will not believe.

This will demonstrate that even with Satan out of the picture, man will still reject Christ, and even when Christ is physically here and present and ruling the planet. Even when the environment will be phenomenally perfect, and prosperity will be universal, and all of the old burdens of life simply will not exist. Even the plant life and animal life will be more than pleasant.

But even though the millennium will be a picture of perfection, by the end of the millennium, there will be a huge population will have refused to believe in Christ as their Savior. And when Satan is released from prison at the end of the millennium, that large negative population will rally to Satan, for one final battle and judgment.

Isaiah 14:21

Copyright Ó 2013 J. Neely
Isaiah 14:21ues

21 Prepare [kuwn] slaughter [matbeach] for his children [ben] for the iniquity [`avon] of their fathers ['ab]; that they do not [bal] rise [quwm], nor possess [yarash] the land ['erets], nor fill [male'] the face [paniym] of the world [tebel] with cities [`ar] [`iyr].  KJV-Interlinear

21 "Prepare for his sons a place of slaughter Because of the iniquity of their fathers. They must not arise and take possession of the earth And fill the face of the world with cities."  NASB

The word for children, ‘ben,’ refers to sons, which obviously is the male child of its parents, but historically male children are the pride the family representing the continuation of the line, the heir of the business.

Our subject is Satan. Our timeframe is the end of the Tribulation, which is the last seven years of human rule in human history. The Tribulation begins when the Rapture terminates our current dispensation. And the Tribulation ends approximately seven years later with the second advent of Christ.

The Tribulation will be the worst period of evil and destruction in all of human history.

Satan of course has no physical children. But here the word for children, is a reference to the results of his production, which is evil, which too, is his pride and joyful achievement. That evil has been responsible for all the atrocities, problems, burdens, difficulties, handicaps, biases, everything bad that has ever occurred in history.

The word for fathers, can refer to a parent of course, but here it is a representation of the principal patterns of evil that have been followed from generation to generation throughout history.

Satan authored evil, and because of that influence, people have been affected by and have subscribed to, that evil.

Satan has never even considered anything other than evil, just as a proud parent looks to the son regardless of the sons qualities.

When the second advent occurs, Satan will be clapped in chains and hauled off to the abyss. With Satan out of the picture, his influence likewise will no longer exist for the world.

Christ and truth will rule, but man will still have free will. But even so, without Satan’s influence the implements of war will cease to exist or even to be made, and the environment will instantaneously get better. And, for the one thousand year rule of Christ on this planet, war and conflict, even religion, will cease to exist.

The evil of Satan will cease to exist when he is incarcerated, and therefore his influence throughout the many generations that will occur during the millennium, likewise will cease to exist.

Isaiah 14:20

Isaiah 14:20ues

20 Thou shalt not be joined [yachad] with them in burial [qabuwrah], because thou hast destroyed [shachath] thy land ['erets], and slain [harag] thy people [`am]: the seed [zera`] of evildoers [ra`a`] shall never [`owlam] be renowned [qara'].  KJV-Interlinear

20 "You will not be united with them in burial, Because you have ruined your country, You have slain your people. May the offspring of evildoers not be mentioned forever.  NASB

Evil celebrates the things that are wrong. Evil takes the tables of right and wrong and reverses them. Evil takes that which is right and makes it rejectionable, and takes that which is wrong and makes it acceptable.

Evil compromises principles of truth, and tailors truth to fit its own needs and designs. Evil looks at everything and makes it relative to everything else. Evil has no set standards but pursues whatever is convenient or popular.

Evil sets standards for other people to follow, but never for itself. Evil is hypocritical and corrupt and very self-centered caring for nothing and no one, and only promoting destruction for all.

Truth sets divine standards that are immovable and have survived the test of time. Truth honors that which is good and does not celebrate that which is bad.

Throughout the course of history, Satan has defied truth and right, to the destruction of anyone and everyone everything. Even during the last seven years of human rule, which is defined as the Tribulation, he will do everything in his power to bring the entire human race to extinction.

His original and ultimate desire is to be framed and celebrated, and to be the ultimate sovereign over all that is.

The reality of his existence, is that he is going to be forgotten totally and completely, with his entire existence expunged as though it never happened.

Isaiah 14:19

Copyright Ó 2013 J. Neely
Isaiah 14:19ues

19 But thou art cast out [shalak] of thy grave [qeber] like an abominable [ta`ab] branch [netser], and as the raiment [labuwsh] of those that are slain [harag], thrust through [ta`an] with a sword [chereb], that go down [yarad] to the stones ['eben] of the pit [bowr]; as a carcase [peger] trodden under feet [buwc]. KJV-Interlinear

19 "But you have been cast out of your tomb Like a rejected branch, Clothed with the slain who are pierced with a sword, Who go down to the stones of the pit, Like a trampled corpse.  NASB

The worthlessness of the king to be, who is Satan, is described here.

The abominable branch, refers to a sucker branch, a shoot which grows typically out of the base of a tree, and is useless, stealing the nourishment from the tree, and therefore is typically cut off and thrown away.

And that is what Satan is. He made himself a useless branch, trying to steal from the tree, which is representative of Christ, the legitimate shoot who was raised up in history in accordance with God’s plan.

Satan had his own plan, and it was not a plan that originated on its own, that became his plan as he stole out of God’s plan.

And while kings throughout the ages, and even the dead of evil armies, were given some semblance of honor, in that they were buried and thus spared after death from the typical humiliation that occurs with dead bodies, then Satan on the other hand was not and will not be given that honor.

Burial of the dead is typically the last and final honor observed for the dead.

But Satan, in his rebellion, died to God and truth and all that is good, and he is maintained that rebellious attitude throughout the ages.  He did not even have the decency to go off on his own and build up his own original plan, and own universe while leaving the rest of us alone.  He instead stole, or is trying to steal, from Gods plan and destroy us all in the process in order to promote his own selfishness.

The raiment, or the clothing of the dead, is typically soiled and ruined with blood and mud and filth, and so the clothing is not worth keeping, is worthless, and it is thrown away.

And Satan is described as that clothing. He is soiled and ruined and worthless, and not even worthy of a decent burial.

The phrase, thrust through with the sword, is a description of violent death.

The phrase, stones of the pit, describes the commonness of graves that belong to people who are unknown, not kings, not celebrities, not even people of honor or integrity.

In the summary attitude toward Satan, is that he is so worthless, that even the common unmarked graves, reject him.

When all of history finally ends, there will be no memorial, no memory, no mention in any way, of Satan who was once Lucifer, the brightest morning star, but through arrogance came evil, and from evil came the most worthless of worthless.

And when you subscribe to worthless, then you are just that.
