Psalm 25:8
8 Good [towb] and upright [yashar] is the LORD: [Yahovah]
therefore will he teach [yarah] sinners [chatta'] in the way. [derek] KJV-Interlinear
8 Good
and upright is the Lord; Therefore He instructs sinners in the way. NASB
This verse seems simple
an obvious on the surface, but a deeper look into this verse suggests a whole
different view of what it is really teaching us.
Briefly, God is good and
truth, and therefore God teaches good and truth. And He obviously teaches it to anyone and
everyone who is interested in good and truth.
That would be us.
But the world is full of religions
and philosophies that deviate from good and truth, which promotes all sorts of scenarios
for the many beliefs that exist today.
From the early
mythologies where the gods competed or fought with one another, or with
monsters of the deep or with man himself, to the more organize religions where
the works of man are paramount to gaining an equal footing with God, to the
huge number of beliefs of todays world, where virtually anything and everything
can be construed as acceptable so long as you are sincere and really believe,
there is no shortage of systems of belief wherein God and good and truth are replaced
with acceptable morals or standards, or even the very strict views of Islam,
especially the Shariah form, wherein you are either one of them or you need to
be subjugated (women especially), or destroyed.
And all of these things,
all of these religions, all of these beliefs, even the many philosophies of
secularism, are all consumed in sin in one way or another. Even the deities of these belief systems
operate with policies of sin.
But not God, the one true
God, who is Jesus Christ, who is the Son, as well as the Father, as well as the
Holy Spirit. These are all good.
There is no sin in
them. They are not capable of sin. They are capable of not sinning.
The Bible is the word of
God, and its message is of good and truth, and it warns of sin and indifference
which leads to sin, as well as the consequences of ignoring good and truth.
Now understand one
thing. All who reject Christ, will go to
the Lake of Fire, and that is not really a punishment that God imposes on them,
it is God allowing them to have their wish, which is to be away from and not a
part of Gods universe, and to seek out their own path in eternity.
They will learn
unfortunately that their control over life after they leave Gods domain, is
non-existent. No one can control the
growth of the hair on their head let alone the weather, and they certainly
cannot control a universe without God, in eternity. That is the Lake of Fire, over which they
will have no control, and no return, only pure terror and worse.
God is good and
truth. God teaches and promotes only
good and truth.
If you are involved with
anything else, then you are following the wrong path.
