Isaiah 3:4

Copyright Ó 2011 J. Neely
Isaiah 3:4

4 And I will give [nathan] children [na`ar] to be their princes, [sar] and babes [ta`aluwl] shall rule [mashal] over them. KJV-Interlinear

4 And I will make mere lads their princes And capricious children will rule over them, NASB

Eccl 10:16
16 Woe to you, O land, whose king is a lad and whose princes feast in the morning. NASB

Children lack talent and qualification. Babes lack knowledge and experience.  When both are combined in adults, it leads to a description of leaders who are both lacking in knowledge, experience, and qualification for the roles that they presume they can perform.

A spiritually deficient society, lacks wisdom, lacks legitimate knowledge, lacks orientation to life and the world around them.  They behave no better than infants who are obviously not qualified to rule, but they do not see this deficiency in themselves.

And so, God gives a spiritually dysfunctional society, over to their most wise, who are not wise, to their most experienced, who are not experienced, to their most qualified, who are not qualified.  The result?  Disaster.

People choose their leaders based not on objective credentials, but on emotional bias, popularity, nostalgia or pettiness.  And of course, the wrong people get into positions of leadership.  And they rule with child-like qualities.  They are selfish, self-centered, ego driven, and petty.  They will micro manage to the n’th degree and establish nonsense as their priorities.

Real problems will be overlooked as they are too difficult to manage, and fake problems or little things will get all of the attention.

The result?  Well, that is tomorrows study.
