2 Timothy 4:22
22 The Lord [kurios] Jesus [Iesous] Christ [Christos] be with [meta] thy [sou] spirit. [pneuma] Grace [charis] be with [meta] you. [humon] Amen. [amen]
The second [deuteros] [epistle
unto [pros] Timotheus, [Timotheos] ordained [cheirotoneo] the
first [protos] bishop [episkopos] of the church [ekklesia] of
the Ephesians, [Ephesios] was written [grapho] from [apo] Rome, [Rhome] when [hote] Paul [Paulos] was brought before [paristemi] Nero [Neron] [Kaisar] the second [ek] [deuteros] time. [kairos] KJV-Interlinear
22 The Lord be with your spirit. Grace be with you. NASB
The
second timothy, etc., does not occur in the original and is both included and
excluded from the many translations since those early centuries (Codices’, Vulgate,
Aethiopic, Syriac, Arabic, and so forth).
The
Lord and grace be with you … as Paul has written these words, are most likely
the last words that he wrote and recorded for the rest of history. Since the late 60’s A.D., Paul soon went
before Nero and was soon thereafter executed. Six months after Pauls death,
Nero also died.
This
ended the era of one of the most proficient and prolific writers of scripture
since the First Advent. With the
exception of perhaps Moses and Isaiah, Paul was one of the very few writers
that contributed so many doctrines that help tie those early principles and
concepts to the understanding of our modern era.
The
Lord Jesus Christ, is the principle subject of the entire Bible, and the
foundation of Christianity.
Grace
is the principle policy of God toward humanity, wherein His immense love and
patience serve to give us all not only a second chance, but many second chances
to gain the benefits of the infinite opportunities that He has made available
to each and every one of us.
Consider
the vastness of the universe and you only begin to see the magnitude of the blessings
that He has made available to each of us.
And all for only a small commitment to a daily study of His word, which commitment
so many people simply will not make.
To
look at this world with all of its problems, to see tyrants dropping like flies
these past few years, one would think that people would get it, would begin to
understand that Christ is in control of history, that history will continue for
as long as God pleases, and will not be affected by Satan. Just so that you and I have every opportunity
to get our spiritual act together and advance to spiritual maturity.
An
opportunity like this comes along only once in ones life, which life we do not
know how long will last, so time is of the essence and time in this life is
precious. Do not waste it on worldly
objectives, but dedicate some time daily, to your investment in your next life,
which will last considerably longer than this one.
Christmas
is just around the corner, and another year is about to come to an end. Have
you invested wisely in your eternal future, or did you waste this past year?
Resolve
now, and be determined to be a winner in Gods plan, such that your life in the hereafter,
which is certain, will be one of great reward and blessing and phenomenal happiness
beyond your imagination. To lose out on
that due to indifference would be a great, great, great loss.
From
my family to yours, we wish you the very best and merriest of Christmas
holidays. And thank you all from the
depths of our hearts for the continued support of this study, and the continuation
of your investment in your own personal spiritual life.
And
now to Him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you without
blemish before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise
God, even Jesus Christ, to whom be glory, majesty, dominion and power, before
time, now, and forever. Amen (believe
it).
