Psalms 5:12

12 For thou, LORD, [Yahovah] wilt bless [barak] the righteous; [tsaddiyq] with favour [ratsown] wilt thou compass [`atar] him as with a shield. [tsinnah] KJV-Interlinear

12 For it is Thou who dost bless the righteous man, O Lord, Thou dost surround him with favor as with a shield. NASB

The wicked category of people, includes anyone who seeks their meaning and purpose and fulfillment from this world, from the source of their own opinion, from the source of their own imagination.

However, true fulfillment in life and forever, comes only from God, who is the source of all things that matter and exist.

Blessing is the action of provision for approval, for sanction.

Favor is the kindness and priority given to specific people.

A shield, is the form of protection that nothing and no one can overcome.

The world can provide none of these things.  The world has no guarantees, no assurances, no promise, no future.

In the world, you have prejudice, inequalities, bias, and everyone is treated with manipulated deception and false hope.  In the world, your life has no assurance of success, or even a tomorrow.  In this world you have to hustle and hope, advertise and wish, and maybe, just maybe, some good things will come to you.

While all around you is pressure, trouble, bills, problems, and constant stress, that wears you out and makes your hair eventually turn grey.  Assuming that you have any hair left in your latter years.

And in the end, you die.  How many people do you know that are over 120 years old?  None.  They are all gone.  All of human history that has come before us, over one-hundred generations and trillions of nameless people, are gone.  And you will go that same way as they did.  Never know to most, and forgotten to history.

But you do not have to have the same result.

From the moment of Adams creation, every person in history has had the same opportunity of salvation and spiritual growth.  Most have ignored this opportunity.

There are only two classes of people in existence, those who have Gods favor and those who do not. Most do not.  And that places you in the only legitimate minority in all of human history, that is, if you are advancing in your spiritual life.

The righteous is a specific class of people, who are saved, who are advancing in their spiritual lives toward spiritual maturity, and who live consistent patterns of life within Gods will.  That simply means that they confess and study daily.  Not a difficult thing to do for anyone.

And for that, God places a spiritual shield around you and your spiritual life, and protects you forever.  In addition God provides you with His own personal favor.

That does not mean that he is going to intervene in human history and bend down and change history especially for you.  History was written in the divine decrees in eternity past, and it will unroll in due course.  But what this does mean, is that if you are positive toward God, Christ, doctrine, and obedient to His will (living in fellowship, studying daily, etc.), then He will give to you His promise and blessing, for a certain and guaranteed future in eternity, and, He will not take away your opportunity for that blessing and future, while you are alive in this world now.

The world is going to swirl around you day in and day out.  In your life, times will be good and times will be bad.  Things will go well and things will break.  You will win some battles, and you will lose some battles in life.  The roller coaster ride will not end until you leave this world for heaven.

But the one thing you can depend on, is God and His promise, and His blessing and His favor, and His protection of that which is the most important in your life, namely, your spiritual life.

Because it is your spiritual life that will carry you into forever, complete your life, and give you true meaning and purpose for even existing.
