Psalm 18:19

Copyright Ó 2012 J. Neely
Psalm 18:19

19 He brought me forth [yatsa'] also into a large place; [merchab] he delivered [chalats] me, because he delighted [chaphets] in me. KJV-Interlinear

19 He brought me forth also into a broad place; He rescued me, because He delighted in me. NASB

The world tries to hem you in, choke you off, squeeze you, crowd you, destroy you.  The world tries to restrict your thinking, limit you options, make you conform to its standards.

While all the while the world tries to convince you that you are progressive, liberated, free to express yourself, have more options and opportunities than you could have otherwise.

And it is all a lie. The true intentions of the world are to discredit truth and keep you in the dark as to the real dangers that surround you, never realizing that you are being flooded and surrounded with such an onslaught that you could never break free.

And then, for those who persevere in doctrine, God plucks you out of danger and sets you truly free.

God, through doctrine brings you to a real place with real elbow room, and real options and real opportunities, and real flexibility.

But God does this not for arbitrary reasons, but because He is delighted in the person who possesses doctrine.

Bible doctrine, or truth, is the real object and target of Gods love.  Anyone who has doctrine in their soul, anyone who has pursued their spiritual life, anyone who has real spiritual growth, becomes the object of Gods eye not because of their dust makeup, but because of the truth content in their soul.

Doctrine, is the true target of Gods blessings.  When you possess doctrine within your soul, then you are blessed by association with that doctrine.  Since you as a mature believer, possess doctrine, and all of the spiritual paraphernalia that accompanies it, then you likewise become the possessor of its blessings.

This will be clarified in the next verse.

The realm of truth is far more vast than anything in or on this earth.  More options, more opportunities, more of every good thing, exist with truth.

Good decisions, open more doors of opportunity.  Bad decisions close all doors.

Bible doctrine, studying it, learning it, utilizing it, possessing it, is the good decision.

Ephesians 4:1

Copyright Ó 2012 J. Neely
Ephesians 4:1

1 I [ego] therefore, [oun] the prisoner [desmios] of [en] the Lord, [kurios] beseech [parakaleo] you [humas] that ye walk [peripateo] worthy [axios] of the vocation [klesis] wherewith [hos] ye are called, [kaleo] KJV-Interlinear

1 I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, entreat you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, NASB

Therefore, and as Paul herein states, therefore, because of the tremendous privileges and opportunities that God has made available to each and every person, including you.

Paul is the prisoner.  And typically you think of a prisoner as being a bad thing.  But when it is being confined to truth, driven by truth, governed by the rules of truth, then it is a good thing.  And Paul is totally engulfed by truth.

Jesus Christ is truth and Jesus Christ is the Lord and sovereign over all things.  The God-man, the unique person of the universe, the one who has given each one of us life and opportunity for a phenomenal life for all of eternity.

It is we, each one of us, who never even existed until God invented us in eternity past and included us in His divine plan, who created us at the moment of our birth, and has sustained us throughout our life in this world, despite all of the many enemies that exist in life, that are bent on the destruction of humanity in general, and yet your life has continued, because God keeps you here, having given you the opportunity to get your act together and prepare yourself for eternity.

You, who were nothing, and now have the opportunity to be joined with Christ as joint heir of the new universe to come, a vast expanse that will be far better and far beyond our ability to even begin to imagine its composition.

Because of these many things and more, Paul beseechs you, pleads with you, warns, give fair notice, calls you to attention, to pay attention and give yourself over to a daily study in the very things that will decide your entire eternal future.

God has given you a calling, a vocation, a job, a destiny, a future, one in which you cannot get anywhere else, one in which this world cannot provide or match or compete.

Of all that exists in your life, your first priority should be to get prepared for Gods purpose.  But unfortunately too many people ignore Gods purpose.

There is nothing wrong with whatever is your chosen vocation, but remember that your vocation is merely a part of the vast system of logistics that allows you to get along in this life.  And while your vocation sustains you, you also have an obligation to prepare yourself in your spiritual life.

God put together the economic systems that exist in this world as a part of the vast support mechanism called divine establishment designed to sustain life and counter the vast evils of the world, so that you can study and learn and grow up in your spiritual life.

And for what purpose?

To fulfill and complete your life for all of eternity.

God holds in His two hands two vastly different rewards.  In the one hand is a treasure of gold and jewels the size of a mountain, whose value is beyond calculation.  In the other hand is a bucket of doggie doo-doo.  Choose!

Golly, it is so difficult to make a decision.

But unfortunately that difficulty proves to be a huge barrier for most of the worlds population.  They cannot decide, because they lack doctrine, because they lack understanding, because they lack learning, because they simply will not study or accept the teaching of the word of God.  So they are undecided, and consequently fail to make the right choice.

So, Paul pleads with all who read these words.

Walk, take a proactive approach, do that which God mandates and pursue your destiny by means of a daily study of the Word of God.  That is your true vocation and purpose in life. All else remains in a support position to that primary objective, responsibility and obligation.

But then, when will you figure that out?  Will you figure it out?  Begin and stick with a daily study, so that when Christ offers you your reward in hand, you will receive the better choice.

Ephesians 3:21

Copyright Ó 2012 J. Neely
Ephesians 3:21

21 Unto him [autos] be glory [doxa] in [en] the church [ekklesia] by [en] Christ [Christos] Jesus [Iesous] throughout [eis] all [pas] ages, [genea] world [aion] without end. [aion] Amen. [amen] KJV-Interlinear

21 to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen. NASB

To Him, Jesus Christ, who is God, who has taken on the title, Son of God, so that the plan of God can be executed with perfection, so that people in all generations can be saved and therefore have a life of overwhelming meaning and purpose and value, forever and forever, and forever, and beyond.  For all of eternity in other words.

Despite Satan’s efforts to derail and destroy God and Gods plan and even destroy you, God has, by means of simple written words, been able to destroy Satan and his plans of evil, and promote you and all who pursue Him.

God laid out a plan for a phenomenal future, a future that will continue forever, for the Church alone. Those who do not belong to the Church, do not have a good plan for their future.  They have only a future of terror and misery and worse.

Now think for a moment.  Glory means magnificence, splendor, beauty, wonder, grandeur, brilliance, exaltation, dignity, honor, praise.  That is the sum total of God and all that He is, and all that He has made possible.

A very long time ago, God created the universe.  And if we could look back in time and see it then as it originally was, even our own planet, then we most probably would see the most remarkable and beautiful environment possible.  Even our own planet would have had to have been beautiful beyond description.  And prior to the fall of Satan, there would not have been any predators nor victims, only the many life entities that God created, living in harmony and happiness.

Then Satan came along and ruined it all, for a while anyway.

But one day, when God finally put an end to all of the evil that exists, and then that beauty will be restored, but not only restored, it will be replaced in a new universe, which will be far better, far more beautiful, far more phenomenal than the one we have now, even in its original state.

Jesus has said, that with faith, anything is possible.  We have just studied that all that is, was made possible by means of the very words that we are studying.  So, what is possible for you, if you just happened to learn doctrine, just happened to grow up to spiritual maturity, just happened to attain a high point of completion and fulfillment, spiritually speaking, in your own life?

Is a daily study not worth that opportunity?  Is a daily Bible study a waste of your time?  Do you have something better?  Whose fault is it, if you fail in life?

Is a daily study not worth supporting, pursuing, making it your very own, and not just for a couple of weeks or months, but for the rest of your earthly life?

What good and great things, legitimate things, can you imagine, and then what exists beyond that?

Before you were born into this world, you had no say as to what kind of person you would be, as to what kind of life you would have. But now God gives you every opportunity to design and define your ultimate life for all of eternity.  Why would anyone ignore that tremendous opportunity over the simple price of your time, in a daily study?

Ephesians 3:20

Copyright Ó 2012 J. Neely
Ephesians 3:20

20 Now [de] unto him that is able [dunamai] to do [poieo] exceeding [huper] abundantly [ek] [perissos] above [huper] all [pas] that [hos] we ask [aiteo] or [e] think, [noeo] according to [kata] the power [dunamis] that worketh [energeo] in [en] us, [hemin]KJV-Interlinear

20 Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, NASB

Him, is Jesus Christ.

Who is able, means that Jesus Christ who is God and man in the one and only unique person in all of existence and beyond. Then Christ is able, due to His omnipotent power and ability, to do anything and everything.

Exceeding abundantly.  Where exceeding means beyond, and abundant means beyond anything and everything that anyone could possibly need or want in all of eternity.  Therefore, this comes to means infinite.

Above all we can ask or think, means that God can do far beyond our ability to even imagine, beyond our wants, beyond our needs, beyond anything and everything even imaginable.

And, now pay attention here, He does these things, and is able to do these things, in accordance with the very power that is at work within us.

And what exactly is that power?  Bible doctrine, the very same doctrine that you are reading and studying right now.

But how can that be?  When all we are doing is reading words!

We are not eating magic pills, working out with iron weights, drinking super drinks.  We are just reading.

But is that really all there is to Bible study?  No.

The spiritual life and spiritual growth and spiritual power are more than just reading words.  If that were all, then anyone, even unbelievers would have that power.  But there is more to the spiritual life.

Remember that the key to the spiritual life is being in fellowship.

Because when in fellowship, the Holy Spirit takes the words that you read, makes them perspicuous and clear, uses them to build a spiritual structure within your soul, incorporates them into your thoughts and motives and daily life, and builds up bit by bit, spiritual muscle and faith in you.

Doctrine, through the power of the Spirit, which is what you have when in fellowship, opens the door of a direct audience with God.  And that opens up your eyes to knowledge and understanding and wisdom, and more.

The function of doctrine in your soul is more than just your prayers, it is your moment by moment pattern of life and thoughts while you are in fellowship, plus the building of a super structure within your soul.

Being in fellowship more and more, aids in the empowerment of your spiritual life and the acceleration of your spiritual growth.

Note that this power must work in us.  That means it has to be in us, before it can work in us.  And in order to have something in you, you need to learn it, study it, use it, understand it, retain it, and keep on doing that over and over, day after day, throughout your entire life.

Christ is God, and if He does something by means of a power, and that power is in us, then that means that what is in us, or is forming in us, is extremely valuable, powerful, and should not be taken lightly.

But then, most folks simply do not take Bible doctrine seriously, and that is why they will fail in their life, their spiritual life.  And it is their spiritual life that will exist forever, so that too is beyond value and power and is being tossed aside.

So the big question probably is, ‘Why would people give up so easily, on something that is so valuable and powerful.’

One day, in heaven, in eternity, you could possess this very same attribute, but then one day you could not.

It all depends on your attitude now.  So what exactly is your attitude?  Do you believe it?  Will you pursue it?  Or, like most folks, will you mock or ho-hum it?

Isaiah 5:16

Copyright Ó 2012 J. Neely
Isaiah 5:16

16 But the LORD [Yahovah] of hosts [tsaba'] shall be exalted [gabahh] in judgment, [mishpat] and God ['el] that is holy [qadowsh] shall be sanctified [qadash] in righteousness. [tsadaqah]KJV-Interlinear

16 But the Lord of hosts will be exalted in judgment, And the holy God will show Himself holy in righteousness. NASB

Exalted, ‘gabahh,’ here means to be raised to a great height.

Holy, ‘qadowsh,’ means to be set apart, and is formed from the combination of righteousness and justice.

Sanctified, ‘qadash,’ means to make clean, consecrate, dedicate, hallow, purify.

Righteousness, ‘tsadaqah,’ means sinless perfection, taintless purity.

When the ultimate judgment is poured out on this world during the Tribulation, there will be such a high death count, that it will be literally impossible to count the dead.  And yet while many superficial types will try to condemn God for His actions, as they have throughout history, blaming God for the many atrocities that have occurred in history, the facts will make it so clear, that the high level of judgment is more than justified, and in fact mandatory.

Evil will have grown to such great levels, that only the near and total destruction of humanity can bring it to a stop.  But then, as we have already studied in Revelation, humanity will on its own, be so evil that it will already be destroying itself to the point of near extinction.  God will in fact be saving humanity from total extinction.

The righteousness and perfect character of God, His justice and fairness, will be raised to the highest of standards and will be visible and obvious to all.

And in Gods judgment, there is total cleansing and purification in His actions. God is not tainted nor can there be found any sin or guilt or complaint in God for the execution of His just judgment.

God will remain prefect in His character, in His essence, in His holiness.
