Galatians 5:8
8 This persuasion [peismone] cometh not [ou] of [ek] him that calleth [kaleo]
you [humas].
KJV-Interlinear
8 This persuasion did not come
from Him who calls you. NASB
And now here is the bottom line. The belief that you are commanded to obey the
Mosaic Law in order to obtain salvation or to improve your spiritual life, did not
come from God. The bible in all of its
content, never teaches salvation by the works of the Law. Never.
What is does teach is that works by man are an impossibility, and that
man needs something else, something greater, namely faith.
But, that faith must be in someone who is greater
than this world. And that someone is
Jesus Christ. Who is God, who came into
this world as do all human infant babies, therefore becoming human, who
actually lived the perfect life, which no one else can do.
But he did not stop there, for works is not
salvation. He went to the Cross,
received the punishment for the sins of the world, which paid off sin, then
died a physical death being consumed by death, but then was resurrected, thus
defeating death, and that is the sum total of Christ’s work, through which we
receive salvation by simply believing in Him.
Christ did the work. All we have to do is believe it.
And to believe you simply say in your own mind, ‘Father
(God the Father), I believe in Jesus Christ.’
And that is all that is necessary for being saved.
And how any person can live their entire life in
this world, for years and years and decades and decades, always thinking some
thought throughout all of those day and even nights, and still refuse to
believe in Christ, is the quintessence of stubbornness and arrogance.
When you drive down the road and see an
advertisement for some food or some, thing, you can’t help but read it and even
think about it even just for those few brief driving moments. How can anyone live their entire life and not
think about Christ, who is more than advertised throughout the entire structure
of this universe, and throughout society.
Jesus Christ is the most known person throughout
all of human history.
Anyone who lives their life and refuses to believe
in Christ, has no excuse and cannot claim that they did not know who He was and
is.
And as for works, or earning salvation by means of
your own efforts, that is not taught or even supported in the Bible, but in
fact is rejected.
