Ephesians 5:7

Copyright Ó 2012 J. Neely
Ephesians 5:7

7 Be [ginomai] not [me] ye [ginomai] therefore [oun] partakers [summetochos] with them. [autos] KJV-Interlinear

7 Therefore do not be partakers with them; NASB

Partakers, ‘summetochos,’ means participant, associate, resemblance, addition, fellow, partner.

And so here is the command, which is an emphatic command.  Do not associate with, do not imitate, do not practice the carnal activities that others practice, and thus lose out on your blessings.

This is a pretty clear verse.

Do as spiritually negative folks do and you will get what they get, which is nothing.  Your eternal reward will amount to nothing, or the loss of everything, blessing wise that is.

God created an entire universe, to be the environment in which human history would play out.

God created phenomenal detail within this universe, within life, within everything that can be seen and unseen.

God went to great effort in preparing a plan that is so intricately detailed, connecting and providing for any and all possibilities, so as to give each one of us an unimaginable life here now, and in eternity.

The magnitude of all that God has done is far, far, far beyond our abilities of perception.

The next universe, which will be combined with heaven, will be infinitely greater than this current universe, and so too, Gods blessings will be infinitely vast.

So, given all of this, then why would anyone even be interested in the nothings that this world has to offer?

Why would anyone even begin to be indifferent toward learning all that God has done and all that God has provided?

Why would anyone disregard Gods truth and the magnitude of Gods blessing?

Why would anyone not want to learn of their role in this life and how God has fit us into His plan?

Why would anyone not want to know the meaning of their life and purpose?

Why would anyone be so stubborn as to want with passion, the emptiness of a defiant life, and throw away vast wealth for all of eternity?

Why would anyone pursue the carnal life knowing that it will gain them nothing in the long run?

Why would anyone not want to learn Gods mandates, Gods procedures, Gods process, but instead try to invent their own rules?

Why would anyone who has lived but a few decades, presume that they know more than God, who has lived forever.
