Isaiah 23:6

Copyright Ó 2014 J. Neely
Isaiah 23:6

6 Pass ye over [`abar] to Tarshish [Tarshiysh]; howl [yalal], ye inhabitants [yashab] of the isle ['iy].  KJV-Interlinear

6 Cross over to Tarshish;  wail, O inhabitants of the coast!  ESV

And so what is the current harbor?  Who is told to make a change?  Why?

This advice is given to the inhabitants of Tyre, to get out, to go and find new and different harbors, because their current harbor is going to be destroyed.

Jesus Christ controls history.

In contrast, Satan and then man, try to control their own destinies, apart from God.  Neither angel nor man has the sovereignty, authority, power, or knowledge with which to control tomorrow let alone the entire universe.

And this and the next several verses will pose questions as to who has the power, who has the authority, who has the wherewithal to comand the elements of nature as well as the entirety of the future of everything and everyone.

Tarshish, as we saw from the other day, is a reference to the many islands of the Mediterranean Sea.  The islands and coastal regions, back then, were the center of commerce and activity.  Tyre was a focal point and crossroads of much of the activity that came out of Africa, from across Arabia, from Persia, and from across the entire region of the Mediterranean and beyond.

But Tyre also represents the entirety of the controlled trade of humanity.  As power evolves in man, then the controls and abuse of those controls likewise grow.  When one single place controls all, then when it collapses, then all suffer.

One of the fundamental principles of Christianity and of the Laws of Establishment, is the decentralization of power and control and authority, so that freedoms are not abused.  That is why many nations provide more security than one single nation.  Many languages, many cultures, many colors, many races and so forth, provide for greater freedoms and individuality, than only a single of any of them.

When the Tribulation does finally occur, then the effort for a single government, a single money source, a single language, a single justice system, and so forth, will become abusive to the maximum and the entirety of all world systems will collapse with mind-boggling surprise.

And now we have our verse.

Get out, change your ways, find new and better trade resources and sources, is the warning.

The bad source will be the anti-christ and the one world systems that will be installed.  Many of which will probably already exist prior to the Rapture.  Just look around the world now.

The new and better and changes needed, are the old systems of free enterprise, of many governments, of many cultures and so forth.  But the single greatest warning and advice is to change away from all things false, to all things true, from evil to good, from all things bad to Christ.

But who will listen?

Isaiah 23:5

Copyright Ó 2014 J. Neely
Isa 23:5

5 As at the report [shema`] concerning Egypt [Mitsrayim], so shall they be sorely pained [chuwl] at the report [shema`] of Tyre [Tsor].   KJV-Interlinear

5 When the report comes to Egypt, they will be in anguish over the report about Tyre.   ESV

In chapter 19, we studied the prophecy concerning Egypt and the many calamities that were going to fall on that region.  Remember, all of these prophecies are referring to the final days of history and therefore they are interconnected.

They are not independent of each other.

Now, since this verse refers to the calamities of Egypt, and then the calamities concerning Tyre, then it is reasonable to presume that this is the chronological order in which they will occur.

During the Tribulation, everything is not going to collapse simultaneously.  There is going to be a logical order to the collapse, and these two prophecies are interconnected in that Egypt will suffer major problems that will leave the world in dismay, and then Tyre will subsequently suffer hardships.

And we know that these geographical regions are symbolic of the economies of the world, their resources and the causes pertaining to their prosperity and to their calamity.

So, given that sequence, after studying chapter 19, which you can review anytime online, then we know that the natural flow of the weather, its impact on the region and on its economy, the loss of resources, increased unemployment, decline is business and so forth, will all be beyond the control of people.

No one can control the weather.  No one can control the harvest.  No one can control the economy.  No one can control employment.

And therefore, the point is, that God controls all, and when God is rejected, then the benefit of that control is lost.

Simply said, if you reject Gods help then He does not give it.

Then, you have to realize on your own that without God, you are really helpless.  And unfortunately, too many people have to take the hard road before they realize the obvious.

Psalm 33:15

Copyright Ó 2014 J. Neely
Psalm 33:15

15 He fashioneth [yatsar] their hearts [leb] alike [yachad]; he considereth [biyn] all their works [ma`aseh].  KJV-Interlinear

15 he who fashions the hearts of them all and observes all their deeds.  ESV

The word for fashion, ‘yatsar,’ is one of the words for creation which we studied in Genesis.  It means to fashion something out of something, such as a pot out of clay.  And in Genesis, Adam’s body was fashioned out of the dust of the ground.

But here we have a fashioning of the heart, which is not the physical heart, because in the latter part of this verse, the works of the heart are referred to.

The heart in the physiological sense, is the pump that moves the blood throughout the body.  In the soul, the heart is used as the symbolic pump for the thought activity circulating throughout the soul.

And the thoughts in the soul are determined by what the content of the soul is, or where that content comes from.

In the real world, you can learn from the false things of life or from the truths of life, and of course from the combination of both.

In any case, people have information from which they can learn and think.  And this applies to all people, regardless of their intelligence level or lack of it.  Realize too, that not everyone needs the same quantity of information, in order to succeed.

And God gave us all information and sufficient resources to discern the real from the fake of life, regardless of our intelligence capabilities.

The spiritual life is on a level playing field.  It offers fair and equal opportunity to all.

Anyone can fail or succeed.  Everyone has the same access and spiritual resources with which to fail or succeed.

And, everyone can succeed if they really want to succeed, but they have to want to, and they have to comply with Gods spiritual process, which is a part of those spiritual resources that everyone has access to.

So, there is no excuse for anyone, ever.

If you have not yet figured out what this psalm is teaching, then you need to know this.  God is extremely smart.  God is extremely fair.  God is extremely patient.  God is extremely generous.  But God draws the line between that which is good and that which is not good.

And the attitude that disregards Gods spiritual process and tries to substitute ones own process, is one of those methods which God rejects.

The attitude that rejects spiritual responsibilities and obligations, is one of those attitudes that God rejects.

God sees and knows everything.  You cannot fool God.  To pretend otherwise makes you out to be the fool.

And, not only the fool, but a very stupid fool.

Psalm 33:14

Copyright Ó 2014 J. Neely
Psalm 33:14

14 From the place [makown] of his habitation [yashab] he looketh [shagach] upon all the inhabitants [yashab] of the earth ['erets].   KJV-Interlinear

14 from where he sits enthroned he looks out on all the inhabitants of the earth,  ESV

From the place of Gods habitation.  And where is that?  Heaven, of course.  And it seems simple enough to understand, but heaven is outside of creation.

Remember that Heaven has always existed.  This universe was created, while Heaven already existed.

Heaven is Gods home, and God has always had a home.  God is eternal and therefore Heaven is eternal.

That means that this universe does have a limit, and probably many limits.  What they are is beyond our ability to discover, to know, or even to understand.

If we could travel to the end of the universe, then we would be at the border of heaven, and that means taking just one more step in order to cross over into heaven.  But man is not able to travel that far, or even know where that boundary is, let alone enter into heaven on his own.

That Bible makes that clear.

The angels can travel back and forth between heaven and earth, and they seem to be able to do it relatively quickly, so they can travel really fast or heaven is not necessarily at a far distance, but possibly in another parallel place or plane.

And again, that is beyond our comprehension.

We might learn that aspect of truth when we get to heaven.  After all, those who have died, will be resurrected and will return to earth to be able to participate in that resurrection, and we all will return from heaven to the earth with Christ at His second advent.  So, we will actually experience the traveling aspect of that trip from heaven to earth, and probably back and forth many times during our next life, during the Millennium.

But, all of this is speculation for the imagination.

Remember, that one of the exciting aspects of our eternal reward, is that it will be beyond our imagination, above and beyond all we can think or ask.  And if you have a healthy imagination, then you should know that beyond imagination leaves a vast set of possibilities, possibilities that we cannot even begin to imagine.

God is in His heaven, and looks down and sees everything. There is nothing that God does not see.  Nothing escapes His eyes.  God is omnipresent, meaning that He is everywhere, and everywhere simultaneously. And that means that God is not contained or confined by time or space, as we are.

That means that God sees and knows everything and that you cannot hide, confuse, deceive, or otherwise escape God.

Do not play games.  Do not ruin or sacrifice your spiritual life, by thinking that you can get away with something, or that you can have life both ways.  God sets the rules.  Ignore the rules and what happens?
