Psalm 22:13

Psalm 22:13

13 They gaped [patsah] upon me with their mouths, [peh] as a ravening [taraph] and a roaring [sha'ag] lion. ['ariy] KJV-Interlinear

13 They open wide their mouth at me, As a ravening and a roaring lion. NASB

The enemies of Jesus, are the enemies of God, are the enemies of Gods plan, are the enemies of truth.

They seek their own plan and self-defined destiny, namely having things their way, without any guidance from God or truth in any way shape or form, unless they define it themselves.

Satan wanted to be like the most high.  He just wanted the power and control of God, but without any of the responsibility or accountability in its use and application to life or creation.  Satan wanted something that he did not possess, could not possess, and could not control even if he had some semblance of Gods abilities.

He wanted something way beyond his ability.

The priests and the mob are examples of those who mimic the will and mind of Satan.  Indifferent toward truth, and therefore indifferent toward the impact of how their wants would affect anyone else, even themselves.

This verse shows just how corrupt ones self-will goes into an indifferent soul toward truth.

The lion that is extremely hungry, cares nothing for its prey. The prey is simply there for the use and abuse and hunger of the lion, so far as the lion is concerned.

But the crowd that opposed Jesus, was not feeding like a lion, they had no use for His death or person.  They simply wanted Him dead and gone.

And that is the common wish and desire of all who oppose God and truth.  They simply want God gone from existence.

And that seems rather odd, in that God is all there is that keeps this universe together.  Without God, there would be no binding force to hold it together, and at last observation, there is no single human or angel, or even a group of them, that can hold together much less create an entire universe.

Even the Lake of Fire, which is the destination of those who wish no God, will not be Godless, for God will even then, hold and contain that place, in its place, forever.

Seems odd that the very thing, the very person, from whom all things came, would be rejected.  For without God, none of us would ever come into existence.  How many people do you know that brought themselves into existence?
