Isaiah 7:2

Copyright Ó 2012 J. Neely
Isaiah 7:2

2 And it was told [nagad] the house [bayith] of David, [David] saying, ['amar] Syria ['Aram] is confederate [nuwach] with Ephraim. ['Ephrayim] And his heart [lebab] was moved, [nuwa`] and the heart [lebab] of his people, [`am] as the trees [`ets] of the wood [ya`ar] are moved [nuwa`] with [paniym] the wind. [ruwach]KJV-Interlinear

2 When it was reported to the house of David, saying, "The Arameans have camped in Ephraim," his heart and the hearts of his people shook as the trees of the forest shake with the wind. NASB

The house of David designates the royal dynasty which began with David.

In the united kingdom, there were three kings, Saul, David, and Solomon.  After Solomon the kingdom split into two nations. The first is the northern nation of Israel which retained that name.  Later it will be referred to as Samaria.

The second is the southern nation of Judah which retained the line of David and the line of Christ.

This war that is shaping up is more than just an attempt of nations trying to conquer nations, it is an attack on the line of Christ, on the house of David, on the promise of God of the Messiah.

All of history is not just people struggling or meandering haphazardly through history, but history is in fact the struggle between good and evil, between the agenda of Satan versus the promises of God.

This is why you will see every aspect of divine principle, every concept of divine establishment, every mandate of God, countered with some false and evil opposite concept.

Syria was under threat from Assyria.  Israel, often times synonymously called Ephraim likewise was not under the direct threat, as Syria was its northern buffer, but both sought to remove Ahaz, who was the fourteenth king of from David (twelfth king of Judah) and in the line of the house of David.

However, the spiritual state of the nation since the time of David and Solomon, had deteriorated to a very low level.  This time span was about 270 years or fourteen generations, from David to Ahaz.

It does take some time for a nation to transform and eventually fall.

And just a quick prophetic note, back in those days, it did take several generations for a dramatic change to occur, especially on a national level.

Today, however, we have the principle of the accelerated change whereas many things will occur at an accelerated rate as we near the end of our dispensation.  Whether it is the numbers of earthquakes, the growth of the world population, or the decline in the spiritual state, all of these and more will change more and more rapidly.

Anyway, the people of Judah lacked in their spiritual status and thus were afraid, shaking like the leaves of trees in a high wind storm.

When your spiritual state is dysfunctional, when your growth is lacking, then when trouble appears in your life, you will be afraid.  Your life will be restless, your sleep will be interrupted, your anxiety will rise.  Your fear will consume your life.  The only way of defeating these characteristics is through a strong spiritual life.

Psalm 18:47

Copyright Ó 2012 J. Neely
Psalm 18:47

47 It is God ['el] that avengeth [nathan] [naqamah] me, and subdueth [dabar] the people [`am] under me. KJV-Interlinear

47 The God who executes vengeance for me, And subdues peoples under me.  NASB

God, ‘el,’ is a reference to the almighty.

Avenge or vengeance, ‘naqamah,’ means vengeance, or to punish.

Subdue, ‘dabar,’ means to arrange, to set in order, to put in ones place, to control, to subdue or reduce.

And as it is true in the case of David, with regard to his enemies.  And it is true with regard to enemies of truth throughout history. It will be true in the Tribulation and the end of history when God puts all evil in its place, namely judged and destroyed.

So too, it is true in your individual life.

Regardless of who or what you are, regardless of your station in life, it is God who puts all things in order in your life.  Jesus Christ controls history.

God takes care of all enemies of truth.  And one way or another, it is God who sets things straight in your life, even and especially when you mess things up yourself.

God subdues, and that means that He sets things in order.  And that means that God sets things in accordance with His divine plan which was authored in eternity past.

Long before you or I or anyone or anything ever existed, God looked down through the tunnel of time and considered any and all possible arrangements of history.  Without coercion or cause, God considered the placement of peoples, of their decisions, their thoughts, intents, interactions, and how it all comes together in a connected historical pattern. God considered many versions and when it was all said and done, God decided on the very best plan, for the very best result for each and every individual.

The divine decrees were set and sealed and then history began.

God does not make your decisions, but God does place everyone into history in such a manner as to gain the very best result for all of history.

So, you think you are self-made?  Think again.  You are a product of all that came before you, and of all that God intends, combined with your own ridiculous decisions that you make during your life.

God knows your thoughts, your actions, your interactions with others, the environment in which you will grow up in and within which you will live.  God knows your opportunities and friends and enemies, and all that will affect your life.

So, in some very supernatural way, God maneuvers all things to serve good, and when you finally figure that out, then perhaps you will understand that your life has a supernatural component of which God maintains control.

Nothing happens by accident.  So when things go right in your life, do not conclude that it is all your doing or luck. And likewise when things go badly for you, then perhaps you should look inward at your own self, and maybe, perhaps just maybe, it is you that needs to make a change in yourself, in order to avoid further difficulties.

People are always glad when the good things occur, but the real education begins when the bad things occur, and you begin your self-check to see what it is that you need to do so far as adjusting to or correcting your spiritual life, your responsibilities, or obligations.

The spiritual life is not a children’s story, or some sort of pretend thing just to help us all feel better about ourselves.  The spiritual life is very real and that requires and mandates your real attention to your life and to your own eternal destiny.

To play games, or to think lightly of your own life, means that you simply do not understand the purpose of your life, and how you fit into Gods plan.

Psalm 18:45

Copyright Ó 2012 J. Neely
Psalm 18:45

46 The LORD [Yahovah] liveth; [chay] and blessed [barak] be my rock; [tsuwr] and let the God ['elohiym] of my salvation [yesha`] be exalted. [ruwm] KJV-Interlinear

46 The Lord lives, and blessed be my rock; And exalted be the God of my salvation, NASB

The living God, is expressed here as opposed to all other gods that are not living.

God is the source of life, who is life Himself, who breathed life into man, exhaling Gods breath and man inhales life to become life.

The living God, Psa. 42:2, is the God of our life, Psa. 42:8.

God is further defined and clarified as the rock, the place of safety, the place of security, the place of promise and peace.  God is the solid foundation of life and of ones destiny forever.

Also, God is the God of our salvation.  All three descriptions point to but one God, namely the Second Person of the Trinity who became man, who is God, and the one and only God, the living God, as defined here.  For the Messiah is a man, and the savior is God, both persons existing in and are in fact one person, the God-man, the unique person of the universe, Jesus Christ.

Mans salvation is from and of God.  The one and only living God.  The Messiah as defined everywhere else in the Bible is a man.  This making both savior and messiah a single person who is both God and man.

He is the living God who is eternal, and man who is the mediator between man and God.

He is the one who all reject.  He is the one which religions detest.  He is the one that philosophies ignore.

And yet, one day, at the end of human history, He is the one who all will eventually acknowledge.
