Proverbs 1:5

Proverbs 1:5

5 A wise [chakam] man will hear [shama`], and will increase [yacaph] learning [leqach]; and a man of understanding [biyn] shall attain [qanah] unto wise counsels [tachbulah]:   KJV-Interlinear

5 Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance,   ESV

A person cannot be wise nor become wise and less he is willing to hear and accept instruction and counsel.  The word for wise counsels, tachbulah, is a term that used in the sailing or management of the ship, by use of the robes and sales and rudder, in such a manner as to set a correct and proper course.

Understanding, is the ability to know the differences between right and wrong, between truth and false, to discern and distinguish.

There is only one way to learn correctly in life and in this world.

There are two ways to inculcate learning correctly into ones soul.

The Bible distinguishes between these two ways, the first being academic learning, and the second being spiritual learning.

Everyone has the ability to learn academically. They simply read and listen and do and experience, and sooner or later figure things out.

Spiritual learning goes one step further, because it incorporates and includes God in the learning process, within the fellowship sphere.

In spiritual learning, information is taken in, in the usual academic sense, which means you hear things that enter through your ears, see things that enter into your eyes, smell and touch and taste as is the nature of your senses, and you do and experience, and learn things by trial and error.

But there is one additional step, which is the role of the Holy Spirit in the teaching process while the individual is in fellowship. That role is supernatural, meaning you cannot sense it or feel it in any way, but it is there. Spiritual information is channeled through the human spirit, and then into the soul where it is incorporated in the spiritual construction process of the soul.

This process creates clarity of thought and sight, and creates proper orientation to reality.

Academic learning lacks that ability.

One cannot become wise, in the truest sense, through academic only learning.

Wisdom, begins with the fear the Lord, which means respect. And respect is something that people speak of, but do not possess. For if one respected God, then God’s mandates would be listened to, and followed. And that following of the spiritual learning process, is again something that people do not do.

If a person truly desires to learn and know, correctly, then a daily study of Bible doctrine, through instruction, while in fellowship, is a mandated prerequisite.

These studies are a part of the massive daily study web site at DailyBibeStudy.Org, and are written, so that you can come to Christ if you have not done so already, and therefore not be lost forever.

And if you have already believed in Christ, then these studies are written so you can learn and understand and grow in your spiritual life, so that you can come to the full knowledge of Christ, so that you can fulfill your meaning and purpose in life as God intended for you, and so you can qualify for a phenomenal eternal reward which you will have forever.  To ignore this opportunity to pursue a daily study means you will be incomplete, unfulfilled and you will lose out, big time.

The Daily Bible Study is online, making it possible as never before in all of human history, to advance in ones relationship with God, through Christ, and to complete yourself beyond your imagination.

But you have to decide to make that commitment.  No one else can study for you.  You have to do that yourself.

Isaiah 30:19

Copyright Ó 2015 J. Neely
Isaiah 30:19

19 For the people [`am] shall dwell [yashab] in Zion [Tsiyown] at Jerusalem [Yaruwshalaim]: thou shalt weep [bakah] no more [bakah]: he will be very [chanan] gracious [chanan] unto thee at the voice [qowl] of thy cry [za`aq]; when he shall hear [shama`] it, he will answer [`anah] thee.   KJV-Interlinear

19 For a people shall dwell in Zion, in Jerusalem; you shall weep no more. He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry. As soon as he hears it, he answers you.   ESV

Zion is typically referred to as a mountain, and the dwelling place of God. God is truth, and truth is Bible doctrine or the content of the Scriptures. Therefore, Zion represents the vastness of truth in which God dwells. Jerusalem comes from the root word shalom, or Salem, which means peace. Jerusalem is called the city of peace. Jerusalem was originally built on and around Zion. Therefore, Jerusalem, the city of peace, was built on truth. Therefore, peace is constructed from truth.

The people, referring to all who belong to God, which means all believers, which means all Christians, cannot possibly all live within the city limits of Jerusalem, let alone on the hill which is at its center.

However, this dwelling place is not the geographical location of Jerusalem, nor the hill that is within it.

What this verse refers to, is Bible doctrine resident in the souls of people who have learned it, understood it, used it, and incorporated it within their daily lives.

With maximum doctrine in the soul, acquired by a daily study over the course of ones life, the individual believer advances to spiritual maturity. Accompanying that advance, is inner peace, or a relaxed mental attitude, which is a result of advancing in ones spiritual life.

We all still live in this Devils world. Consequently, we all face the heart aches and hardships that come with this world that we live in, and when difficulties strike, the first thing that the mature believer does, is pray to God, while resident in fellowship, in the name of Christ.

The result? God, referring to God the Father, hears our prayer, and answers us accordingly.

God is not a Genie. Prayers cannot be construed as wishes. But what God does, is that He answers our prayers, and as we pray to Him in Christ name, He responds to our prayer through Christ as well. Jesus Christ executes all action in the divine plan.

The principle that is important here, is that this response comes to mature believers.

Not that immature believers can’t pray, because they can, nor that they won’t be heard, because they will be heard, but until they have the inner resources of the spiritual life which is obtained through a daily study of Bible doctrine, they lack the spiritual wherewithal that makes them out of sync with God.

Immature believers typically live their life out of fellowship. Immature believers typically struggle with false ideas. Immature believers, remain immature, because typically they do not have the motivation or the drive to pursue their spiritual growth. And that lack of self-discipline generally keeps them at an immature level.

Therefore, the response they receive, from God, is limited.

What immature believers need is a daily dose of Bible doctrine, and a consistent growth pattern of life, within their spiritual life.

And until they advance in their spiritual life toward spiritual maturity, the blessings in response from God available to them will be proportional to their resolve and desire, and to their consistency in advancing in their spiritual life, in accordance with Gods defined spiritual process.

The phrase, as soon as He hears it, indicates the quickness and speed with which God acts.

And God asked swiftly with spiritually mature believers.

Remember one more important principle. The book of Isaiah contains a phenomenal amount of doctrine related to the end days of history. Those end days, referring to the final days and weeks and months of the Tribulation, will see the most horrific of events in all of human history. Those Christians, who will exist in those end days, will be calling to God, and in light of the terrible activities that will be occurring at that time, Gods response will be needed quickly, more than at any other time in history.

And it will come quickly.

What people need today, as they have always needed throughout history, is to decide to pursue doctrine and their spiritual life, and advance to spiritual maturity. Most people do not do this, and therefore their spiritual lives are handicapped and hamstrung as a result of their failure to advance.

Life and history revolve around Jesus Christ, who is God, who is designated as the son of God, and as such is the Savior and mediator between man and God. Jesus Christ is the word, the living word, of which we have the written word. He is truth. And that is our focus and focal point for determining our meaning and purpose, and our direction and quality of life.

Isaiah 30:18

Copyright Ó 2015 J. Neely
Isaiah 30:18

18 And therefore will the LORD [Yahovah] wait [chakah], that he may be gracious [chanan] unto you, and therefore will he be exalted [ruwm], that he may have mercy [racham] upon you: for the LORD [Yahovah] is a God ['elohiym] of judgment [mishpat]: blessed ['esher] are all they that wait [chakah] for him.   KJV-Interlinear

18 Therefore the LORD waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the LORD is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him.   ESV

In the verses leading up to this verse, Isaiah has been describing people who lack spiritual life, because they are lazy, indifferent, opinionated, antagonistic, or otherwise simply do not want to pursue their spiritual life according to the process that the Bible defines.

Negative people have an aversion to being told what to do, presuming that they can do better on their own.

And that is what gets them into spiritual trouble.

People are obstinate, resistant toward Bible instruction, stiff-necked and stubborn, and unfortunately they stick with a negative pattern throughout their life.

And Isaiah describs here, the patience of God.

The LORD waits, is a phrase that indicates His long-suffering patience for a stiff-necked people.

The Lord is a God of justice. That means He will always do what is right.

Blessed are those who wait for Him, indicates that blessing will always come to those who turn toward Christ, who by the way is the Lord being referred to here.

So as long as you are living and breathing, and have the ability to make decisions, you can always turn from your ways, and get back on track with your spiritual life.

Even in your last breath, a positive thought toward Christ, will result in blessing that you can carry with you as you leave this world.

But obviously, waiting until your last breath is not the best option. It is far better to make that change in your life pattern long before you leave this world.

Nevertheless, the point here is that Christ is patient. He has been patient since long before time began. He was patient through the angelic rebellion, He was patient through the events surrounding Adams fall, He was patient through all those many centuries of the Old Testament, He was patient through the events of the cross, He is impatient through all the many centuries up until our current time.

And, He has been patient with you.

None of us can earn or deserve anything that comes from God. If God had human attributes, He would have given up on humanity a long time ago. Thankfully, God is a far than any of us.

Psalm 37:36

Copyright  2015 J. Neely
Psalm 37:36

36 Yet he passed away [`abar], and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought [baqash] him, but he could not be found [matsa'].   KJV-Interlinear

36 But he passed away, and behold, he was no more; though I sought him, he could not be found.   ESV

In the similar fashion of the tree that was previously described, the wicked will pass away and disappear from existence, as far as this world is concerned. And as far as eternity is concerned, the wicked, herein referred to as unbelievers, will not be found in heaven or anywhere else for that matter. And you can look and look and look for them, but they cannot be found.

The wicked invest all of their time and energy in the things of this world, but there is nothing in this world that can secure them to a permanent residence in this life or in this world.

Everything they have, will be lost. And everything that they are, will disappear.

And when the wicked disappears, they will be lost, forgotten, and never found again.

And one more thing that needs to be mentioned in this study, the phrase, and behold, or the phrase, and lo, represent surprise.

And this is the surprise of the wicked person. All the while they expected that their intellect, their wealth, their status, their talent, their abilities, their attitude, their self-imposed wisdom, anything and everything that they had, would be sufficient for them to secure themselves in life.

And when the end comes, there is shock and surprise, as though their sudden loss, or death, comes to them unexpectedly.

And yet we know from other studies, that no one is with excuse. Everyone knows, from simply looking around, that no one lives forever. Everyone knows, that everyone dies sooner or later. Everyone knows that after this life there is something else, because time continues on and never comes to a stop. And everyone, without exception, sooner or later, has revealed to them, the gospel of Christ, or the truths of life itself, all of which speak to a greater design, greater power, and a life beyond this one.

So, no one has any excuse for not knowing the limits and future possibilities of life and death.

And the whole point of this, is to demonstrate that when you ignore God, and when you ignore Christ, and when you ignore your spiritual life, you are placing yourself in extreme jeopardy, and you are placing yourself in the extreme position of vanishing and being lost forever.

This is the permanency of eternal condemnation, which we typically describ as the Lake of Fire.

This also describes, that existence in the sphere of eternal condemnation, will not be a party, will not have any social activities, but will be one of total isolation and aloneness, not to mention the terror and horrors that will accompany this existence, which will go on forever, and will never change.

Cannot be found, means exactly that.
