28 Then my tongue shall tell of your righteousness and of your praise all the day long.   ESV

The tongue speaks that which is in the soul.  The soul contains that which it has learned.  The individual learns that which he is interested in, that which he desires, that which he pursues, that which is consistent with his ultimate intentions.

And when doctrine is the substance of the soul then there is no hypocrisy, and no public display that is superficial and phony.

And so David has Bible doctrine in the soul, and possesses a legitimate life, praising God both in public as well as in private, with no inconsistency between the two.

All day long, means consistency day in and day out.

David, or any positive believer, is consistent in their spiritual pursuit and application. They do not need to be entertained in order to draw their attention to God, to Christ, or to doctrine.  They are equally interested in the exciting doctrines as well as in the boring ones.

They are self-motivated and driven to learn.

They do not take days off.

They do not go on vacation away from their daily learning responsibilities.

Few, take days or weeks or months off from eating, and Bible doctrine is the food for the soul, which requires daily nourishment.

Stop eating and you will get sick, get weak, and probably die. 

It is the same with your daily study.

Stop studying, or be inconsistent in your daily study and the soul gets weak, sickly, and eventually will die from the under-nourishment.

Physical food nourishes you for this life.  Bible doctrine nourishes you forever.

Psalm 35:27

27 Let them shout for joy [ranan], and be glad [samach], that favour [chaphets] my righteous cause [tsedeq]: yea, let them say ['amar] continually [tamiyd], Let the LORD [Y@hovah] be magnified [gadal], which hath pleasure [chaphets] in the prosperity [shalowm] of his servant [`ebed].   KJV-Interlinear

27 Let those who delight in my righteousness shout for joy and be glad and say evermore, “Great is the LORD,

who delights in the welfare of his servant!”    ESV

In contrast with the enemies of God, are those who appreciate and pursue God and His word. 

The enemies of God end up in shame, embarrassment and dishonor.

The friends of God end up with honor, and prosperity, and favor from God.

For God intends for people to be fulfilled, happy, and prosperous, and of course to live for all of eternity.

And that is what is available for all who accept truth.

So the contrast is clear.  Disregard God and reap the whirlwind of failure and doom and shame.

Or, regard God and pursue Him, and enjoy the fruits of success beyond imagination.

Psalm 35:26

26 Let them be put to shame and disappointed altogether who rejoice at my calamity! Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor who magnify themselves against me!   ESV

Bible doctrine is truth.  Disregard for learning Bible doctrine means that you reject truth and pursue the lies of the world.  There are only two viewpoints in existence. God has the viewpoint of truth, and everything else is the other viewpoint of all that is false.

Without truth, you have no basis for orienting to life or to reality.  Everything is relative and subject to compromise and the imagination of the sin nature.

The false yields nothing.

And yet, those who reject learning doctrine, presume that they know it all. They celebrate in their false wisdom, never knowing that they are running down a path of self-destruction.  They do not see the destruction, and therefore reject that it even exists.

That is, until the end of their life, and then it is too late to correct all of the lifetime of errors.

The result?  Shame, and this is not some simple shame, but an extreme shame, a dishonor of all dishonors.

At the end, having lived an entire life, knowing of God, knowing of Jesus, knowing of the Bible, and remaining indifferent or antagonistic against them, even of mocking their existence and content, then the light in the head, will come one and the reality of life, which you only see after death, will result in the most horrific shame of the most extreme failure ever.

Psalm 35:25

25 Let them not say in their hearts, “Aha, our heart’s desire!” Let them not say, “We have swallowed him up.”   ESV

Reference to believers in general, and to Jesus Christ in particular.

Evil presumes triumph when there are no immediate repercussions.  Evil celebrates when they seem to have defeated others or to have won by their efforts.

In their hearts, is a reference to the content of their soul.  What they think is what they are, and evil is evil through and through when truth is rejected.

As to Christ, the mob and the powers that be, presumed that once he had been crucified, then that was it.

They had stopped any opposition toward themselves, by means of executing someone.  They presume that death is the end and that no one can do anything after they have died.

And as far as Jesus is concerned, they could not have been more wrong.

As far as believers are concerned, then evil presumes that their death or defeat is the end.  But, time goes on and there is far more after this life than in this life.

Evil presumes that this life is all there is and all that matters.  But that too is wrong.

Anyone, any believer, who is defeated in life, in this life, has the next life, to be vindicated.

Life does not begin and end here.  It goes on and on and God has charge of it all.

Psalm 35:24

How does God judge us?  By what standard does He evaluate us?  Gods uses truth, or His righteousness as the means to evaluate each person and sets that standard against the carnal standards of the world.

Gods righteousness, is the perfect state, which we acquire by means of learning Bible doctrine.

God does not evaluate based on our intellect, based on our deeds, based on our good intentions, or by means of anything that is within our capability.

Look at the world.  Nearly everyone has a disadvantage of one sort or another.

Not everyone is smart.  Not everyone has honorable intentions.  Not everyone is equally as capable as the rest.

There are so many variables in the attributes of humanity, and so many differences, that to judge anyone by some standard, that is above those incapable of that standard, would be unfair.

So, God uses a standard of absolute perfection, or a standard that no one is capable of achieving on their own.

But, everyone that is capable of thinking, is capable of learning.  Everyone who is capable of making decisions, is capable of choosing to learn Bible doctrine, or of rejecting it.

God looks down into the souls of people and searches for doctrine in that soul.  Bible doctrine is the foundation and substance of all of the spiritual life.  So if one has studied and learned, then there is a basis for a good evaluation.  If there is no doctrine in the soul, then there is nothing there to evaluate.

An empty head, is a zero score.

But who has control over what is in the soul?  You do.

You decide to pursue learning, or you do not.  And that makes you the one that is responsible for your ultimate evaluation, good or bad.

And, since a person who pursues a daily study, and learns and grows up in their spiritual life, is phenomenally rewarded, then there will be no one to laugh at them for their success.

Of all possible outcomes in life, the best vindication in life is the one that results in success for all of eternity.

Psalm 35:23

23 Stir up [`uwr] thyself, and awake [quwts] to my judgment [mishpat], even unto my cause [riyb], my God ['elohiym] and my Lord ['Adonay].   KJV-Interlinear

23 Awake and rouse yourself for my vindication, for my cause, my God and my Lord!   ESV

Formerly, God has been asked to be not silent, but to come to the aid of the one asking.

And now the appeal is to more than that, it is asking God to actually take action, to do something.  But this is not in the sense of asking God to do this or that, and then expecting Him to do this or that.  This is a request for vindication, or to stand in judgment against all that oppose truth.

As believers, we are identified with truth.  Apart from our faith in Christ, we are identified with evil or all that is lost.

But in this world, we have nothing to prove our faith, no certificate, no document, nothing with which we can present to anyone, to prove our salvation.

And thus we in faith are reliant on faith.  And that means that our backing, is God Himself, or no one.  For only God can validate our faith, and only God can confirm our faith, and only God can differentiate between faith and non-faith.

No one else can look into the soul and see faith, or see the human spirit that was created at the moment of belief, or see the eternal life that was imputed into the human spirit.  The soul and the spirit are different vessels but they are united as one. 

Just as the human body and the human soul are different vessels but united as one, however, no one can examine the body and soul and see each part, or even separate one for the other.  That is beyond any science that exists or will ever exist.

The human body is part of the physical world, and the human soul is part of the spiritual world, and faith is the only mechanism for crossing over between the two worlds.  And while the soul has probably unlimited abilities, its capabilities are severely limited when filtered down through the physical attributes of the human brain and body.

And as goes our limitations, so goes our proofs of eternal life.

Only God can validate and only God can vindicate, but He does it from the position of faith, never from anything that we can or could do, or never from works, as it were.

Psalm 35:22

22 You have seen, O LORD; be not silent! O Lord, be not far from me!   ESV

In contrast to the distorted seeing eyes of evil from the previous verse, God also sees, but with an objective and truthful eye, matching facts perfectly with reality.

People, without doctrine, see what they want to see.  They see in arrogance.  And as such, their arrogance distorts what they see.

They presume more than they have a right to presume.  They ignore truth and fact, and they make-up or invent their own version of what they see.

And, as evil boasts in loud voices, about things that are not even real, so God speaks loudly with truth, through doctrine.

Evil and arrogance soon lose steam and fade away, but truth keeps on going unhindered, and uncompromised.

And, God is not only near, but as close as the Bible doctrine that is in your soul.

Psalm 35:21

21 Yea, they opened their mouth [peh] wide [rachab] against me, and said ['amar], Aha [heach], aha [heach], our eye [`ayin] hath seen [ra'ah] it.   KJV-Interlinear

21 They open wide their mouths against me; they say, “Aha, Aha! Our eyes have seen it!”   ESV

Gloating deceivers, boasters, they who wink the eye, hate without cause, make fun, presume they are the wiser. 

And this is what they did against Jesus, who is the Christ, the unique God/man of all that is, omniscient, omnipotent, sovereign over all that exists, creator of all that exists.  And here are people, who know virtually nothing by comparison, have done nothing by comparison, having phenomenal limitations as is the nature of humanity, making fun of Jesus.

Aha, we have seen your fall from grace, your downfall.  Once the speaker to large crowds, a doer of miracles, and now a convicted criminal.  And so the mocking goes.

But that nonsense is not unique to those days of long ago, it still exists even today, where most of the world ignores Jesus altogether, and most Christians, do not take His mandates seriously, having more important things to do with their time.

And yet, it is the Bible that is the mind of Christ, and to learn Christ you have to learn the Bible, which seems to be the biggest barrier in the minds of most believers, unfortunately.

Simply looking at history, one should know that we are not here for a very long time.  That our time begins and our time ends, and then we are faced with eternity.  This world is the training ground and the Bible is the training manual, to prepare us for eternity.  But who bothers?

And so it goes.  Some mocked by means of verbal comment, while others mock by means of indifference.  What is the difference?

Psalm 35:20

20 For they do not speak peace, but against those who are quiet in the land they devise words of deceit.   ESV

Those who defy Christianity, do not seek to promote something that is better. They seek to promote deceit, contentiousness, debate.

They are divisive and argumentative.  They are inordinately competitive, seeking only to put-down, for the purpose of demoralizing or promoting hate.

They seek only to advance themselves, at the expense of others, at any cost.

They are selfish and self-centered.

Rejection of truth, amounts to nothing more than the promotion of evil.

Psalm 35:19

18 I will thank you in the great congregation; in the mighty throng I will praise you.   ESV

All who are opposed to Christians, are in fact opposed to God, to Christ and to doctrine.  They have no basis for rejecting or opposing truth.

They have no just cause for opposing truth.

Hatred, mocking, jeering, making fun, and so forth, are acts and actions of the ignorant and of the arrogant.

And despite their evil intentions, in their attempts to put down truth, they will not and never will, succeed.

They have nothing better to offer, because there is nothing better than truth.

Destruction of truth, comes with no replacement.  Opposition to truth, comes with no replacement.

Psalm 35:18

18 I will give thee thanks [yadah] in the great [rab] congregation [qahal]: I will praise [halal] thee among much [`atsuwm] people [`am].   KJV-Interlinear

18 I will thank you in the great congregation; in the mighty throng I will praise you.   ESV

There are five great congregations that will occur in history.  Two have already occurred, and three will occur in the future.

The first congregation or assembly, if you will, was when the angels were created.  That happened a long time ago.

The second assembly is when Jesus recovered the Old Testament believers in Paradise, after the Cross, and took them all to heaven in a huge victory parade.

The third assembly will occur at the Rapture.

The fourth assembly will occur at the Second Advent of Christ.

And the fifth and final assembly will be the greatest of them all, and that is in view here, and that will occur at the very end of all of human history at the end of the Millennium.

By then there will be perhaps trillions of saved believers from all of human history, together with all of the saved angels.

And, when all of the human events have finally taken place, when the Great White Throne has occurred and all who have rejected Christ have been sent away to the Lake of Fire, when the old universe has been destroyed and when the new universe has been created, then there will be a celebration such as history has never seen and probably will never see again.

That will be the party of parties.

Psalm 35:17

17 How long, O Lord, will you look on? Rescue me from their destruction, my precious life from the lions!   ESV

One of the first things in our thoughts when trouble is upon us is, how long will it last.  And so the question is posed to God.  How long?  How long will this last?  Do you not see it?  Will you not intervene?  Why the wait?

And of course those are the questions that people ask when under stress.

But God is in His heaven.  God sees all.  And, God knows the burdens that we face from time to time.

But, God has a plan.

That plan looks past us and into the future not only for us, but for everyone. 

God has a plan.

God saw all problems of today, in eternity past, and God made provision for them.

God has a plan.

And just because we do not want to wait out the pressures, and we want instant response.  That is not going to happen.

Most of our learning occurs when we face hopeless or helpless or pressure situations.

Look back on your life.

And if you have any years under your belt at all, then you should know that you are still here.  You did not die.  You did not starve.  You did not give way under the troubles that you faced.  But somehow all of those problems were taken care of, one way or another.

You are still here and that is proof of Gods grace in keeping you around.

If God did not know of your problem, if God did not care, if God did nothing, then you would have vanished into oblivion a long time ago.

But we do not get text messages or emails or phone calls or letters in the mail or angels delivering us telegrams from heaven.  We live by faith.

But faith is not a hope or an unknown.  Faith is supported by the confidence that is derived from a daily study of Bible doctrine.  By learning doctrine, by understanding doctrine, by growing up in our spiritual life, by coming to know just how life works.

When you look at a chair to sit in, you see the chair, you know its construction, you know that it will support you and you probably sit down with little or no thought. You have faith that the chair will hold you because you know the character and attributes of the chair.

That is what you need in your spiritual life.  To know God, by knowing doctrine, and therefore having your faith developed in such a manner that you do not have to doubt or wonder or question.

And even though we do not know the details of the tomorrows in our life, we should know that God has a plan specifically designed for each one of us.

Therefore, uncertainty and fear should fade as our faith overrides them because of the doctrine that we have come to know through our daily study.

The lions out in the world, represent the troubles in the world.  And the precious me, is the reference to you, yourself.  You are precious to God.  God has a plan.  God designed a plan specifically for you, and he did it in eternity past, long before you ever came into existence.

A precious person is a reference to a one and only child, and that is how God treats you, as though you were His one and only child.  That makes you important, extremely important. But that does not mean that He will spoil you and let you go your own way into a messed up life. 

We all have to learn in order to become better persons, and sometimes the learning process is tough on us.

But then, guess what?  We are still here.  Why is that?

Psalm 35:16

16 With hypocritical [chaneph] mockers [la`eg] in feasts [ma`owg], they gnashed [charaq] upon me with their teeth [shen].   KJV-Interlinear

16 like profane mockers at a feast, they gnash at me with their teeth.   ESV

Profane mockers, refers to those who have no respect for God, for Christ, for truth, ad so they mock everything that is real, and boast about all that is not real.

In feasts, designates those types of people who make a scene at parties, drunks, slurring, loud, obnoxious, people who stammer or speak a foreign language. They boast of themselves or of their things.  Boasting always leads to the loss of that which you are boasting.

This is not a reference to foreign people, but describes the behavior of those who, when they reject truth and reason, take on the actions of obnoxious people.

Drunks, describes the confusion of the mind.  Foreign, describes that they are not a functional part of Gods family, by either being unbelievers or out of fellowship believers.

Gnashing of the teeth, describes the hateful and rowdy and mouthy attitude.

But this is not just the overt activity of people who mocked Jesus, it describes all people who reject or disregard doctrine.

They are nothing more than dysfunctional and profane mockers, fools that favor lies instead of truth.

Psalm 35:15

15 But in mine adversity [tsela`] they rejoiced [samach], and gathered themselves together ['acaph]: yea, the abjects [nekeh] gathered themselves together ['acaph] against me, and I knew [yada`] it not; they did tear [qara`] me, and ceased [damam] not:   KJV-Interlinear

15 But at my stumbling they rejoiced and gathered; they gathered together against me; wretches whom I did not know tore at me without ceasing;   ESV

As Jesus was tried and tortured and led through the streets, the crowd against Him grew and grew, and the mocking and spitting and torments likewise grew.  The crowd became a mob.

The word for abjects, means mockers, antagonists, revilers, and such.

For three-and-a-half years, Jesus performed miracles galore. He did things that no one had ever seen in all of human history.  He taught truth and healed without bias.

And yet, when the powers that be, made charges against Him, the crowds that had been following Him, the crowds that celebrated Him as the Messiah as He entered Jerusalem, now mocked and ridiculed and challenged Him to destroy the Romans.

People were not interested in truth, they were only interested in having a knight in shining armor coming to their rescue, and then of course, establishing Gods kingdom and giving them high offices within that kingdom.

The crowds were selfish, fickle, and stubbornly arrogant, and definitely lacked a knowledge of the scriptures.

Those who loved Him initially, now hated Him.  No one seemed to know why He came in the first place.  Even the apostles were confused, as they too, abandoned Him.

There was a complete breakdown in knowledge of doctrine, within that generation, just as there is a complete breakdown in knowledge of doctrine even in our current day.

And the reason is because people do not study, and therefore do not learn, and therefore do not know.

And this lack of knowledge, prevents orientation and understanding of life, and that means people are confused, and weak, and subject to instabilities, both mentally and emotionally.

Psalm 35:14

14 I behaved [halak] myself as though he had been my friend [rea`] or brother ['ach]: I bowed down [shachach] heavily [qadar], as one that mourneth ['abel] for his mother ['em].   KJV-Interlinear

14 I went about as though I grieved for my friend or my brother; as one who laments his mother, I bowed down in mourning.   ESV

The speaker, who we already know as Jesus Christ, speaking through the written words of David, is under the heavy weight of grief and sorrow.

He treats those who are contemptuous against Him, as He would a close brother or family member or close relative, with courtesy, kindness and affection.

But His feelings run extremely deep, as one would behave when a mother is lost.

All around, people rejected Jesus.

All around, people ignored Jesus.

All around, people mocked and ridiculed Jesus.

That was true back then and it is true even today, even though people would argue against that notion.

But today, the world is indifferent. 

Today people do not abide by the mandates of the Bible.

Today, people are more in-tuned with their own pleasures or their own self-wisdom or their own self-defined relationship with God, while ignoring the one and only way of achieving a true relationship with God.

Back then, people mocked openly and spit on Him.  Today people ignore His mandates, and ignore or redefine their responsibilities before God.

In this world we all have responsibilities to God, to self, to spouses, to family, to work or business, to society in general.  But, these responsibilities are ignored and deemed as unimportant.  So is it a shock when life falls all around you?  Is there no recognition of repercussions that will occur?  Does pretended ignorance or excuse justify ones behavior or attitude or beliefs?

And yet, Christ did all for us and more, and how is He repaid?

Psalm 35:13

13 But as for me, when they were sick [chalah], my clothing [l@buwsh] was sackcloth [saq]: I humbled [`anah] my soul [nephesh] with fasting [tsowm]; and my prayer [t@phillah] returned [shuwb] into mine own bosom [cheyq].   KJV-Interlinear

13 But I, when they were sick— I wore sackcloth; I afflicted myself with fasting; I prayed with head bowed on my chest.   ESV

The speaker now contrasts his attitude and behavior, with that of the general public.  Jesus Christ is the speaker, speaking through the symbolic type, which is David, who wrote this psalm.

But the sentiments are those of Christ.  And of Christ not just when He was here in this world as a man.  But as Christ, since eternity past and throughout history.

Whereas, people have a negative attitude, and a, me first, attitude, God does not.  God has a caring attitude, and never abandons anyone.

While people have harbored bitterness and negative thoughts, selfishness, and arrogance to name just a few attitudes, God has demonstrated deep feelings of grief and compassion, and grace, for those who not only suffer, but for all who suffer because of their own short-comings.

Sackcloth is the dress of mourning and grief.  The bowed head is the posture of humility and courtesy.

And even when Jesus was being tormented and tortured and punished beyond reason, He still had the peoples best interests in mind and felt poorly for all, and never Himself.

Psalm 35:12

12 They repay me evil for good; my soul is bereft.   ESV

The Lord Jesus Christ brought only good into this world and He was repaid with evil, rejection, condemnation, punishment and execution.

The spoiling of His soul refers to the ultimate rejection and abandonment of Christ.

God is truth.  Humanity typically rejects truth, and not only rejects it but abandons it and replaces it with something else.

That something else is obviously not truth, and therefore lies.

Rejecting Christ means that everything used as a substitute, is a lie.

Whether it is a religious belief, a philosophical belief, a political belief, a social belief, an economic belief, or whatever, then when its basis is not found in truth, then it is a lie.  And most opinions out there in this world, are formed from the foundation of lies.

To abandon the Lords soul is to abandon Him in His entirety.

There is no being half a believer, no cafeteria from which you can pick and choose between truths and lies and mix them up in your life.

You are either in compliance with truth or you are not.  And when you vacillate back and forth between truth and lies then your spiritual life will be erratic at best.

However, humanity has been given everything good, and far more, and yet the vast majority of humanity remains indifferent.

Psalm 35:11

11 Malicious witnesses rise up; they ask me of things that I do not know.   ESV

This psalm speaks of wrongs that are directed toward believers in Christ, but the real target is Jesus Himself.

Anything spoken in violence, in negative connotations, in opposition toward truth and so forth, is against God. 

The Word of God is the written word of Christ, the mind of Christ, the living word in us, which is Christ in us. 

That is, when we learn it.

And throughout history since the time of Adam, to Noah, to the time of Jesus, to our time today, the world has produced a saturation of negative and evil directives against truth in many forms.

Whether by the idle gossip of some to the legislative arrogance of leaders, to criminals, to anything in society that you can think of, there is no shortage of false witnesses, which is to say false opinions, false religions, false philosophies, to even the poplar attempt to accept as truth, the many false ideas of life.

The false is just that, false.

To accept or to even promote the false, is to lead people away from Christ, to lead people away from heaven, to lead people right into the fires of damnation.  How honorable is that?

And while we have to tolerate the opinions of others, which simply means that we let them have their way without our coercion.  That does not mean that we promote their false ideas.  We simply stick to our guns and let the chips fall where they may.

In the end, people have to make up their own minds and then, of course, live with their decisions.

The ultimate events of history, is when Jesus, fulfilled so many prophecies, and yet society, did not recognize Him for who He was and is.  Instead society condemned Him, for no real reason other than an apostate society is unable to see truth even when it stands right in front.

And even now, Bible study is readily available to nearly everyone on the planet, and yet the vast majority of humanity ignores it, preferring to pursue life as though there is nothing beyond that which we can see or touch.

It is a sad statement for the inability to see the unseen, especially when there are so many examples of the unseen in this universe, proving that there is far, far more to life.

Things that I do not know, refers to evil.  Jesus does not participate in evil and therefore is not known for evil.

Jesus knows truth, lives by truth, and is truth.

To ask Him to compromise truth would be the epitome of arrogance and stupidity.

10 All my bones [`etsem] shall say ['amar], LORD [Y@hovah], who is like unto thee, which deliverest [natsal] the poor [`aniy] from him that is too strong [chazaq] for him, yea, the poor [`aniy] and the needy ['ebyown] from him that spoileth [gazal] him?   KJV-Interlinear

10 All my bones shall say, “O LORD, who is like you, delivering the poor from him who is too strong for him, the poor and needy from him who robs him?”   ESV

The bones often times portray the frame or the structure of the whole person.  Without the bones you would fall over, or flop and have no support. So you need bones in order to have some underlying support, foundation, structure, framework, in order to be able to function.

The whole of the person asks, who is like God?  Who is like the savior?  Who is like Christ?

The poor is symbolic and lets us use language of accommodation, in order to understand the intent of the verse.

The poor is often thought of as those being economically poor.  That gives us a frame of reference.

However, God does more than just looking after those who are money poor.  Here the Bible emphasizes the poor in the spiritual realm.

In this world, Satan would take everything from us all.  God places emphasis on His family, and tries to bring all people into His family.  But of course that always depends on the attitude and willingness of people to believe in Christ.

But once having believed in Christ, then you become, family of God. 

The universe was created for you.  However, not being able to inherit this universe, because Satan has undermined that possibility, then God has set aside a new universe, of which we will all inherit.

But for now, we are poor in that we will not obtain that which was originally created for us.  It was stolen, as it were, away for us.  That makes us poor.  That likewise, brings a huge burden of weight on our shoulders, under which we have to live our lives.

We will not realize the magnitude of that burden, or the removal of that burden until we leave this world, and it is lifted from us.  But we all have to live in this devils world, and we all have to endure various forms of burdens that exist in our lives.

The world is greater than us.  But Christ is greater than the world.  Therefore Christ, lifts the burdens in such a way that we can function with some semblance of normalcy in our lives.

Without Christ, the world would be too strong for us.  It would rob us continually.  And, without Christ we would be destitute forever, with no hope of any kind.

Therefore, reject Christ and you have nothing.  Ignore Christ and you have nothing.  Be indifferent to Christ and you have nothing.  And since Christ is the written word, then having those same attitudes toward Bible doctrine will result in your being and having nothing, as well.

Therefore, who is like the Lord?  No one, nothing.  To ignore Christ means that you throw away your only option or means of freeing yourself from this world.

Psalm 35:9

9 Then my soul will rejoice in the LORD, exulting in his salvation.   ESV

Given the last few verses and the judgments that will come to all that are evil and/or disobedient, there is a change in this verse, to thanksgiving, for not only the righteous judgments that will be applied to evil, but to the deliverance from evil and from judgments that are certain to come.

This is the devils world.  Problems are an integral part of this devils world. 

It is not what God created.  It is not what God intended.

When the universe was created, a very long time ago, it was created for the purpose of being inhabited, and as an inheritance for its inhabitants.

But of course that plan hit a few problems which began with Lucifer’s rebellion against God.

But despite the problems, the plan continues and will eventually result in an inheritance for those who will eventually live with God.  Although this universe will be discarded and a new and better one will take its place, it will all work out for the better when history is finally concluded.

During our life, we will all face problems and difficulties, and for those who comply with Gods mandates, namely of pursuing a daily study and listening and learning and growing up in ones spiritual life, then there will be deliverance after deliverance from problem after problem.

The problems will never go away in this world, and likewise the deliverances will never end.

Thus the appreciation and rejoicing of those who actually have a genuine, and not a phony, relationship with God, through doctrine.
