Psalm 33:22b

Copyright Ó 2014 J. Neely
Psalm 33:22b

22 Let thy mercy [checed], O LORD [Yahovah], be upon us, according as we hope [yachal] in thee.  KJV-Interlinear

22 Let your steadfast love, O LORD, be upon us, even as we hope in you.   ESV

Your expectations of blessing, should be a reflection of your inner desire and hunger for truth.  If your quest for doctrine is pretended or superficial or non-compliant with Gods rules, then that is the real reflection of your inner desire or lack of it, regardless of your outer performance in front of people.

If you are reluctant to comply with Gods mandates, then it would be unreasonable to expect much in the way of blessing and you certainly should not be surprised when trouble visits your life.

All of these things can be easily dealt with on the personal level, simply by correcting your attitude and changing your desire into a genuine one for learning and understanding exactly what God wants and expects of you, and then pursuing that process as God intends.

But when you don’t take the hints that life gives you, with all of the little or big warnings that are intended to get your attention, then that sort of stubbornness makes your change of heart, just that much more difficult.

The longer you are defiant or resistant or indifferent, the deeper the pit of trouble you are digging for yourself.

On the world scale, look at the many problems that exist or the threat of problems, that should be enough to bring changes in people.

Recently there was the ebola situation in Dallas, where one person arrived in Dallas, infected two others and caused hundreds of others to be placed on a watch list.  Was that enough to bring a change in your life?

Then there was another man in New York, just a day or so ago, a doctor who was treating ebola patients and then came home without going into any sort of quarantine.  He has been back and working for two weeks, and just what will be the repercussions of that incident still remains to be seen?  But yet another threat or warning for society, that the really bad threats are out there and it takes but a little irresponsibility, and simple mistakes to place huge numbers of people in danger of actually dying.

Are those significant enough to bring change in your life?

And going back just a few years, when there was a tsunami in Indonesia or the major earthquake in Haiti where in both instances many hundreds of thousands of people died.  Was that major enough to bring changes in anyone?

On the personal level we have people that take a rather indifferent or belligerent attitude toward authority.

Children disrespect parents, wives disrespect husbands, workers disrespect employers or their jobs, citizens disrespect their own country, politicians abuse the powers of their office, and on and on and on.

And yet it was God who placed authority into motion so as to provide order, not chaos, into the functions of society.  The issue is never whether or not a supervisor is smarter than you, the issue is always the respect required of the positions in view.  And when authority breaks down, then trouble is always very near.

The desired affect is never achieved, when Gods design is ignored, and you think you know better, or you simply do not like your role in life.

Likewise, the desired blessings that one wants, are never received.

These are but a few examples of how to fail and how to perpetuate your own misery, which by the way, is caused by your own decisions and attitudes.

Resisting Gods mandates overflows into all manner of life, wherein instead of complying with and supporting the spirit of truth, you are in effect a participant in the destruction of life itself, as well as yourself.  Then you have only yourself to blame, never someone else.

Who is destroying the world?  Who is destroying society?  Who is destroying themselves?  All who ignore the proper function and application of their spiritual lives.

Life is not a game, but a very serious thing.  How you approach life will determine what kind of quality of life you will or will not enjoy.

God placed you into this world in order to prepare you for life with Him for all of eternity, not for you to set up your own domain of sorts in spite of Him.

Psalm 33:22

Copyright Ó 2014 J. Neely
Psalm 33:22

22 Let thy mercy [checed], O LORD [Yahovah], be upon us, according as we hope [yachal] in thee.  KJV-Interlinear

22 Let your steadfast love, O LORD, be upon us, even as we hope in you.   ESV

According as we hope, is the key phrase, for if your expectations are little, then you will receive little.  If your expectations are great, then you will receive great.

But, your expectations, if they are reasonable, should be a reflection of your inner desire and hunger for truth.

If your quest for doctrine is pretended or superficial, then that is the real reflection of your expectations from God.

What you say or do is of no consequence if your desire for your spiritual life is inconsistent or is contrary with Gods design for the spiritual process.

If your inner desire is genuine, then there is nothing that can stop you from learning what it is that God wants you to learn, and how he wants you to learn.

And accordingly, your blessing is ultimately reflected in the genuineness of your spiritual pursuit, a pursuit that is in compliance with Gods plan for your life.

A right thing has to be done in the right way in order to be right.
A right thing if done in the wrong way, is wrong.
A wrong thing when done in the right way, is wrong.
A wrong thing done in the wrong way, is wrong.

There is only one God, one savior, one faith, one spiritual process, and any substitute for these, is wrong.

There are Gods expectations of you, for your spiritual life, and any substitute priorities on your part, is wrong.

The spiritual life is much more than simply believing in Christ.  That only begins the spiritual process which opens up infinite possibilities for your life.  You cannot grow by trying to repeat the same thing over and over again.  Once salvation is accomplished, then it is the same as being born.  You cannot birth yourself over and over and over. Your momma would throw you out with the wash in a heartbeat.

Once born, you must then begin the growing process, until you grow up to a state of maturity.

You cannot remain an infant all of your life.  You gain nothing from that.

You cannot remain a child all of your life.  You gain nothing from that.

You cannot remain a teenager all of your life.  You gain nothing from that.

Only as an adult, and especially as a mature adult, do you begin to fully realize and understand and appreciate what life is all about.  But of course you have to learn from studying in order to understand, in order to grow up and become wise.  Then your faith, your real faith, based on solid knowledge and understanding within your soul, begins to develop and solidify your spiritual essence.

From there, your application of doctrine to your daily routine, to your daily responsibilities, to your daily obligations, begin the process of spiritual production, making you a spiritually worthwhile and productive vessel, into which Gods pours blessings.

A leaky vessel or no vessel cannot hold onto the things poured into it.

Only a solid and well-built vessel, has the capacity to hold and possess that which is poured into it.

Psalm 33:21

Copyright Ó 2014 J. Neely
Psalm 33:21

21 For our heart [leb] shall rejoice [samach] in him, because we have trusted [batach] in his holy [qodesh] name [shem].   KJV-Interlinear

21 For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name.  ESV

The word for heart, ‘leb’ is symbolism for the thinking process of the soul.

In the physical body, the heart is the pump that circulates the blood throughout the body.  It describes the thought process the thinking process, and all of the functionality of the soul.

And when your thoughts are such that the spiritual truths that you have learned, predominate and/or occupy the lions share of your thinking process, then there is only one possible result.  And that result is inner happiness.

And happiness, the only legitimate happiness and legitimate happiness comes from God.  And we come into possession of those thoughts and that happiness through our learning of Bible doctrine.

You have only two possible sources for your thoughts, Bible doctrine, or everything else.

The things you focus on in your daily life, day after day after day becomes the basis for the pattern of your life.

The world offers nothing holy, only things that are temporary.

Holy means separate from, sanctuary, consecrated, hallowed.  And all of this comes from and is, God.

God is not a part of this world, not a part of the evils that the world represents.

Likewise Bible doctrine is not a part of this world or the evils that are in this world.

When you bring Bible doctrine into your soul through your daily learning, then your soul becomes, symbolically, separated from the content of the world, and a sanctuary or protected place into which the world cannot enter.

Excluding Bible doctrine from your life, means that you exclude legitimate happiness from your life, and when there is no happiness, no legitimate happiness, then there is only misery.

Psalm 33:20

Psalm 33:20

20 Our soul [nephesh] waiteth [chakah] for the LORD [Yahovah]: he is our help [`ezer] and our shield [magen].  KJV-Interlinear

20 Our soul waits for the LORD; he is our help and our shield.   ESV

Faith in Christ opens up an almost infinite list of possibilities and opportunities.  Because of the many things that we have just studied in the previous verses, we as believers in Christ are convinced that He is our help, our hope, our shield, our eternal destiny, and far more.

Christians, look to Christ and know that no matter what happens in life, whether prosperity or poverty, good health or bad, safety or danger, no matter what the situation may be in this world, for it is the devils world, He is always there to watch over us and protect us, and deliver us as is fitting in His plan for us.

The ultimate goal of the Christian life is in eternity. There is nothing in this world that can replace eternity or act as a substitute for it.

It is our mission to endure the hardships as they may be, and understand that it is the policy of evil that rules for the time being, but it is temporary and Christ will one day, put a permanent end to it.

Our soul is our life and our soul possesses phenomenal abilities and capacities.  This physical world places many limitations on us that restricts what our soul life can do or accomplish.

From the genetic restrictions that we have to interact through, ie., the soul interacts through the brain, the brain through the body, making our physical self, restricted in what our abilities are, to the physical surroundings of this world that limit us in virtually every aspect of life.

But one day, those restrictions will vanish when we are changed into our resurrection bodies, which will be free of constraints, allowing more things that we probably cannot even begin to imagine.

Unbelief has nothing to look forward to.  Disbelief has nothing to look forward to.

Faith in Christ opens up an almost infinite list of possibilities and opportunities.  There is no risk of loss or failure through faith in Christ.

Psalm 33:19

Copyright Ó 2014 J. Neely
Psalm 33:19

19 To deliver [natsal] their soul [nephesh] from death [maveth], and to keep them alive [chayah] in famine [ra`ab].   KJV-Interlinear

19 that he may deliver their soul from death and keep them alive in famine.   ESV

Death refers to physical death, not spiritual death.  And famine is one of the most cruel difficulties that can be experienced in life.

But the world is filled with adversaries.  Whether they be from the world or nature itself, or due to people, or due to governments, or due to organizations, there is no shortage of obstacles, any one of which can bring an end to your life.

Of all of the things that sit in opposition to you, there are four fundamental obstacles.

The first is from your own thoughts.  The quality of your thoughts depends on what you allow into your soul, or what you prevent for getting into your soul.  What you think is what you are.  And what you think depends on what you learn or experience in life.  If you learn Bible doctrine, then you are on a good path.  If you are indifferent toward Bile doctrine, then your path is not so good.

The second obstacle comes from other people.  People can be brutal, vindictive, criminal, self-righteous, gossips, and so forth. The tongue and actions of others can bring hardship into your life.

The third major obstacle comes from bureaucracy.  Whether government or business or clubs or social structures, bureaucracy affords a shield or veil behind which people can hide or melt into, avoiding responsibility and accountability, as they give you a difficult time.

The fourth major obstacle comes from natural events.  And this can include anything from poor genetics and handicaps, to major storms, to accidents, to disease, and so forth.  These things can take you down in a heartbeat and they can last for a long time, or all of your life.  They can come upon you from your own habits, like smoking and cancer, or from events that are beyond your control, like a lightning strike on your head.

But in all of it, God is there.  And He can protect you from the difficulties of life and sustain you when times are tough, as well as protect you from events that would normally bring death, like a military assault on a beach against horrendous odds.

And since most of us will not be charging against enemy fire on a beach landing, we all will face problems socially, economically, physically, and so forth.  God is always there to see us through.

More often than not, we will want more, but this is the devils world and God works His will through it all, despite the evils of this world.

One day life will be perfect.  That will be in eternity.

But for now, there is no perfection in this world and it should not be expected.  That would be unreasonable.

But God is always there, and we should look to Him, and not to our problems.

Psalm 33:18

Copyright Ó 2014 J. Neely
Psalm 33:18

18 Behold, the eye [`ayin] of the LORD [Yahovah] is upon them that fear [yare'] him, upon them that hope [yachal] in his mercy [checed];  KJV-Interlinear

18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love,   ESV

Where is Gods focus?  On those who fear or respect Him, not pretenders, not dead beats, but namely believers in Christ who are obedient to His mandates,  and on them that look to Him in His mercy, namely those who are advancing in their spiritual lives and know and understand His mercy.

Gods focus is on believers in Christ, not on unbelievers.

Gods focus is on Gods family, not on strangers.

Gods focus is on those who belong to His nation, not foreigners.

Gods focus in on those believers who are positive toward His word and advancing in their spiritual lives, not on those who are indifferent.

Unbelievers have the gospel and common grace by which they can function in this world and believe at anytime.

All believers receive common grace as well as the better grace after salvation by which they can grow up in their spiritual lives.

Believers that advance to spiritual maturity, receive greater grace.  A grace that is far and above greater than anything imaginable for this life as well as the next.

Psalm 33:17

Psalm 33:17

17 An horse [cuwc] is a vain thing [sheqer] for safety [tashuw`ah]: neither shall he deliver [malat] any by his great [rob] strength [chayil].   KJV-Interlinear

17 The war horse is a false hope for salvation, and by its great might it cannot rescue.  ESV

The word for vain, ‘sheqer,’ means an empty thing, a lie.  The war horse is used for speed, for mobility, for aggressiveness in battle, for advantage, for confidence.

But it is all a lie.

Things in life are all lies, when you place your trust in them, rather than God.

Whether your things are horses, or real-estate or talent, or ability, or rank, or position, or whatever it is that you have or rely on, to get you through life, they are all vain, empty, lies.

The details of life, which means all things in life, are nothing but temporary in this world. You should never place your trust in things, while ignoring God.

For, if God wants to promote you, then things are not necessary, and nothing can prevent your promotion.

If God wants to demote you, then things cannot prevent it.  If God demotes, then you will be demoted.

Regardless of who you are or what you are, you are not promoted unless God promotes you, meaning you will go nowhere, unless God allows it.  And God can allow something, or God can will it to be, and there is a huge difference between the two.

Sin is here and God allows it to run its course, so all can see that it will go nowhere.  But if God wills something, then that is the best of all worlds, because He proactively promotes something and it is done.

So, pursue your spiritual life first, and then everything else will take care of itself, because God directs it all.

Psalm 33:16

Copyright Ó 2014 J. Neely
Psalm 33:16

16 There is no king [melek] saved [yasha`] by the multitude [rob] of an host [chayil]: a mighty man [gibbowr] is not delivered [natsal] by much [rob] strength [koach].  KJV-Interlinear

16 The king is not saved by his great army; a warrior is not delivered by his great strength.  ESV

Man is not maintained by human means. Man is not sustained by human means.  Man does not continue in any way by human means.  Only the fool believes that he is somehow self-sufficient or self-directing or self-made.

Mighty kings and mighty armies and mighty warriors have come and gone.  Mighty people in business, in industry, in politics, in intellect, in talents and abilities, have come and gone.

None, no one, and certainly not you, whoever you are, can remain in life for even a second without Gods grace.

God maintains this universe, and life and all of creation.  And do not get uppity and start mocking about meteors and asteroids and crashing planets and galaxies and so forth.  The short answer to that kind of stupidity is, Isa. 45:18, ‘For thus says the Lord, who created the heavens (He is the God who formed the earth and made it, He established it and did not create it a waste place, But formed it to be inhabited), "I am the Lord, and there is none else.’

God created the universe perfect.  He did not make the universe a wasteland.  He did not make the earth null and void as stated in Genesis. It became that way, because Satan caused all of the problems of the universe.

The Garden was created perfect, but man and sin destroyed it.

Sin and evil are the causes and catalysts of destruction.

God alone is the protector of everything and everyone.

When the Allies landed on the beaches in 1944 that invasion could have ended in total disaster, but was completed by noon as our bullets and bombs found our targets and their bullets and bombs missed.  A simple failed radio in a Japanese scout plane turned the tide of the entire war in the Pacific, at Midway.

There are doubtless many things in your life that happened or did not happen, that you perhaps know nothing about, which formed the path of your life.

But regardless, Jesus Christ controls history. He controls when people are born into this world and when people are taken out of this world.  He knows who, what and when things will be discovered or invented, and provided for the people who would be involved in those things.

Jesus Christ controls and coordinates everything in history, because He knows beforehand, everything that will occur.

So, your life, your intellect, your discoveries, your environment, your friends and acquaintances, everything that you are and know and will or will not accomplish, is the result of Gods extremely fine tuning of all of the intricate details of life.  This also includes your thoughts and decisions.

So, do not go in the opposite direction and believe that you can do nothing because God has worked everything out, because He just might let you live on the street because you were being stupid.

If you have toast with jelly for breakfast tomorrow morning, God made provision for that food in their planting, in their growing, in their manufacturing and processing, in their packaging, in their delivery to a store, and finally they were there for your decision to buy them and bring them home.  A lot of things happened before you will take that first bite.  And God did not force you to buy or bite that toast.  But you did.

And Satan is out to destroy everything.  Man opposes God in most everything in life. And yet Gods plan and controls continue unhindered despite all of the opposition.

The world cannot counter or halt Gods plan.  Your life in under the controls of the world if you place them there, or under God, if you choose God.  Which do you suppose is the better plan.

Psalm 33:15

Copyright Ó 2014 J. Neely
Psalm 33:15

15 He fashioneth [yatsar] their hearts [leb] alike [yachad]; he considereth [biyn] all their works [ma`aseh].  KJV-Interlinear

15 he who fashions the hearts of them all and observes all their deeds.  ESV

The word for fashion, ‘yatsar,’ is one of the words for creation which we studied in Genesis.  It means to fashion something out of something, such as a pot out of clay.  And in Genesis, Adam’s body was fashioned out of the dust of the ground.

But here we have a fashioning of the heart, which is not the physical heart, because in the latter part of this verse, the works of the heart are referred to.

The heart in the physiological sense, is the pump that moves the blood throughout the body.  In the soul, the heart is used as the symbolic pump for the thought activity circulating throughout the soul.

And the thoughts in the soul are determined by what the content of the soul is, or where that content comes from.

In the real world, you can learn from the false things of life or from the truths of life, and of course from the combination of both.

In any case, people have information from which they can learn and think.  And this applies to all people, regardless of their intelligence level or lack of it.  Realize too, that not everyone needs the same quantity of information, in order to succeed.

And God gave us all information and sufficient resources to discern the real from the fake of life, regardless of our intelligence capabilities.

The spiritual life is on a level playing field.  It offers fair and equal opportunity to all.

Anyone can fail or succeed.  Everyone has the same access and spiritual resources with which to fail or succeed.

And, everyone can succeed if they really want to succeed, but they have to want to, and they have to comply with Gods spiritual process, which is a part of those spiritual resources that everyone has access to.

So, there is no excuse for anyone, ever.

If you have not yet figured out what this psalm is teaching, then you need to know this.  God is extremely smart.  God is extremely fair.  God is extremely patient.  God is extremely generous.  But God draws the line between that which is good and that which is not good.

And the attitude that disregards Gods spiritual process and tries to substitute ones own process, is one of those methods which God rejects.

The attitude that rejects spiritual responsibilities and obligations, is one of those attitudes that God rejects.

God sees and knows everything.  You cannot fool God.  To pretend otherwise makes you out to be the fool.

And, not only the fool, but a very stupid fool.

Psalm 33:14

Copyright Ó 2014 J. Neely
Psalm 33:14

14 From the place [makown] of his habitation [yashab] he looketh [shagach] upon all the inhabitants [yashab] of the earth ['erets].   KJV-Interlinear

14 from where he sits enthroned he looks out on all the inhabitants of the earth,  ESV

From the place of Gods habitation.  And where is that?  Heaven, of course.  And it seems simple enough to understand, but heaven is outside of creation.

Remember that Heaven has always existed.  This universe was created, while Heaven already existed.

Heaven is Gods home, and God has always had a home.  God is eternal and therefore Heaven is eternal.

That means that this universe does have a limit, and probably many limits.  What they are is beyond our ability to discover, to know, or even to understand.

If we could travel to the end of the universe, then we would be at the border of heaven, and that means taking just one more step in order to cross over into heaven.  But man is not able to travel that far, or even know where that boundary is, let alone enter into heaven on his own.

That Bible makes that clear.

The angels can travel back and forth between heaven and earth, and they seem to be able to do it relatively quickly, so they can travel really fast or heaven is not necessarily at a far distance, but possibly in another parallel place or plane.

And again, that is beyond our comprehension.

We might learn that aspect of truth when we get to heaven.  After all, those who have died, will be resurrected and will return to earth to be able to participate in that resurrection, and we all will return from heaven to the earth with Christ at His second advent.  So, we will actually experience the traveling aspect of that trip from heaven to earth, and probably back and forth many times during our next life, during the Millennium.

But, all of this is speculation for the imagination.

Remember, that one of the exciting aspects of our eternal reward, is that it will be beyond our imagination, above and beyond all we can think or ask.  And if you have a healthy imagination, then you should know that beyond imagination leaves a vast set of possibilities, possibilities that we cannot even begin to imagine.

God is in His heaven, and looks down and sees everything. There is nothing that God does not see.  Nothing escapes His eyes.  God is omnipresent, meaning that He is everywhere, and everywhere simultaneously. And that means that God is not contained or confined by time or space, as we are.

That means that God sees and knows everything and that you cannot hide, confuse, deceive, or otherwise escape God.

Do not play games.  Do not ruin or sacrifice your spiritual life, by thinking that you can get away with something, or that you can have life both ways.  God sets the rules.  Ignore the rules and what happens?

Psalm 33:13

Copyright Ó 2014 J. Neely
Psalm 33:13

13 The LORD [Yahovah] looketh [nabat] from heaven [shamayim]; he beholdeth [ra'ah] all the sons [ben] of men ['adam].  KJV-Interlinear

13 The LORD looks down from heaven; he sees all the children of man;   ESV

God looks down from heaven.  Heaven is not a part of this universe, but external to it.  Our universe was created.  Heaven has always existed.  It is the home or dwelling of God, who likewise has always existed.

There never was a time when heaven did not exist.

God can see all of humanity.

All of humanity is named here as the sons of ‘adam.’  This is the first name of the first man, but also indicates that all of humanity began with Adam, and was not from some concoction of mush that evolved prior to Adam.

History has a very long timeline.

Today, science divides history up into many categories of eons.  We typically divide up history into per-historic, or the history before man, and then there is human history beginning with Adam.

In the prehistoric times, there were dinosaurs and all kinds of animal and plant life. These came into existence when the universe was created.  How long they lasted, we can only guess.

But during that pre-historic era, there is evidence of life and then extinctions and then life and then extinctions and so forth, until the very last extinction which is typically called the great ice age.

However, during those pre-ice age times, there is evidence of a couple of man like creatures, that have been named Cro-Magnon and Neanderthal.   Again historical evidence and the discovery of DNA science reveals that the DNA of those creatures does not match our current human DNA.  Thus the missing link theories of evolution arose, trying to find some link that connected us with them.

But that is not to be.

Current humanity began with adam, not pre-historic animals, that may have been similar to man but not human.

Only we have souls.  They, as with all animals, did not have souls, nor even a relationship with God, as we have.

But it might be interesting to know if they were so hated by Satan, who destroyed them, that God created Adam from their pattern, as a curious humor, in that we are promoted to being above all the angels through Christ, something that the angels lost when they rebelled.  And perhaps the lowly form of a former creature is used as the pattern and instrument of that justice.  Just a curious speculation or something to wonder about.  After all, God does everything by plan, and nothing by accident.

In any case, all of creation is under Gods eye.  Nothing escapes His eye.  Nothing escapes His notice.  Nothing escapes His awareness.  And all of history, whether pre-historic or current, is a part of Gods overall plan.

When Gods people and man are ever referred to, the mention always begins with Adam, and never anything prior.

Psalm 33:12

Copyright Ó 2014 J. Neely
Psalm 33:12

12 Blessed ['esher] is the nation [gowy] whose God ['elohiym] is the LORD [Yahovah]; and the people [`am] whom he hath chosen [bachar] for his own inheritance [nachalah].  KJV-Interlinear

12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!   ESV

There are two things that make the connection between a people and God.   First, the people know Him as Jehovah.  This is the personal name of the unique person of the universe, both God and man in one person, namely Jesus Christ.  And second, God has chosen these same ones who, through His own name, have recognized Him.

We call this recognition, faith in Christ.

The nation consists of the collection of people who have one thing in common, and that is that they all belong to the same nation.  They all entered into citizenship in that nation, in the very same way.  They all believed in Christ.

The nation is Gods nation, not mans.  The nation is headquartered in heaven, not on this earth or anywhere in this universe.

The God that everyone recognizes, is Jehovah, which is the personal name of God, which means that He is deity, and being capable of sitting, then He is a man as well.

God is the Lord, means that God is a man, and also means that the man is God.

There is only one unique person who fits that description, namely Jesus Christ.

The name Jehovah means, self-existent one.  He is eternal, and the source and sustainer of all that is.  That means power and authority over all that is.

This is a relationship.

He chose those who chose Him.  He foreknew, since eternity past, those who would choose Him.  Gods choice is in the form of accepting those who would choose Him, of which He made that choice freely available to everyone.

Unfortunately many do not choose Him.

Such a nation is blessed and happy, because God is a real God.  He is eternal and omnipotent and not only an unselfish God, but a very generous and just, God.

We are His Heritage.

Heritage, ‘nachalah,’ which refers to that or those who possess value, are worth preserving, having passed down through many generations, an allotment.

And believers in Christ, possess all of those qualities, beginning with faith in Christ, and having received within themselves, from God, eternal life, and continuing with doctrine for those who advance toward completion due to their continued daily studies, of Hid word, not theirs.

There are many nations, representing many beliefs, but only one nation, which believes in the one truth, is Gods chosen.

God is truth, and truth chooses truth.  Truth never chooses lies or false things.  And, lies and false things can never be truth.

Which also means that anything you do, even as a believer, that is not in accordance with Gods principles, precepts, mandates, and such, then to the extent that you choose the false, you are outside of God will.  The false cannot mix with the truth.

Then the only reason that you have a relationship with God, and are a member of His family and nation, if in deed you are pursuing false things, is because of your faith in Christ, which is truth, and big component of truth at that, for obvious reasons.

Nothing of your efforts or works or false beliefs or attitudes, have anything to do with your relationship or value, which God has established for you.

Because we are chosen to be His, then we will be with Him forever.

An inheritance, when you receive it, belongs to you and to no one else.

When you seek your own plans or intentions or designs, you are depending on things that will not succeed.  What exactly is it that you have that justifies ignoring Gods mandates and counsel?  Because with learning through instruction, your plans and designs will be replaced with Gods plans, designs, intentions and so forth, and your success in life will be guaranteed.

Gods thoughts, which include the entirety of His divine plan, will never change.

His plan was made perfectly.  His plan will be carried out perfectly.

There is no superior counsel, nothing and no one to change His counsel.  Any and all inferior beings, which includes the entirety of creation, cannot change, modify, prevent, or alter Gods plan.

No opposition of any kind can defeat Gods plan.

What God planned, He intends.  What God intends, will be carried out in its entirety.

So, when you decide to ignore His command to study and learn, then what exactly do you think that you have that is better than Gods counsel?

If you are not smarter than God, if you are not wiser than God, if you do not have some exceptional insight from the past or into the future, then, again, what exactly is it that you have that justifies ignoring Gods mandates and counsel?

Psalm 33:10

Copyright Ó 2014 J. Neely
Psalm 33:10

10 The LORD [Yahovah] bringeth [puwr] the counsel [`etsah] of the heathen [gowy] to nought [puwr]: he maketh [nuw'] the devices [machashabah] of the people [`am] of none effect [nuw'].  KJV-Interlinear

10 The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; he frustrates the plans of the peoples.  ESV

There are only two opinions in existence, Gods and everything else.  God is truth, which you have to learn by the way, and then there is everything else, which is not truth. That means that anything and everything, that is not formed and based on truth, is false and therefore a lie.

And anything that is a lie has but one possible outcome, namely failure.

Truth is the precise matching of facts with reality.  Lies cannot match up facts with reality, but try as they may to force a matchup, and when something is false, then it is impossible for it to succeed.

Since God is truth, then His will, will always succeed.

Satan is the father of lies, therefore his will, will always fail.

When you try to force your beliefs into life and your beliefs are not based on Bible doctrine, then the only results that you can expect in life are failure.

To go your own way, means failure.  To define your own spiritual life, means failure.  To invent your own religion, means failure.

If you believe that the only real freedom is based on your independence from God, then you need to realize that separating yourself from truth means that you are attaching yourself to lies.  And that means failure.

You, and we all, are created things.  We do not have the ability or the capacity to invent the universe or maintain it.  We cannot even control our own little lives.

So, anything that is a pursuit of a lie, means failure, always failure.

Anything that you do that is not in accordance with Gods will, means failure.

Your plans, your designs, your inventions, your philosophies, your beliefs, will all fail.  That is your only outcome.  You can expect nothing better.

The only thing that will succeed, is Gods truth, Gods plan, Gods instructions, Gods mandates, Gods design, Gods method.

And the only way you can know His will is to learn it.

And the only way you can learn it is to be taught.

And the wanting to know, the wanting to learn, the willingness to listen and be taught, God leaves up to you.

If you succeed, then it is to Gods credit. If you fail, then it is your fault.

Psalm 33:9

Psalm 33:9

9 For he spake ['amar], and it was done; he commanded [tsavah], and it stood fast [`amad].  KJV-Interlinear

9 For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.  ESV

Speaking of all of the heavens, which is a reference to the entire universe, or all of creation, then God merely spoke and it was done.

Done means the entire process of creation was completed in an instant.

God did not speak to start the process, only to be completed at some later time, but the act of creation occurred in an instant.  Its beginning, middle, and end all occurred in an instant.

Done means finished, completed, as in when a job is finished, then you put your tools away and leave the job, as there is nothing more to do.  And so God spoke and the universe was completed in full.

Remember that the original creation of the universe occurred in an instant, unlike the later restoration of the earth, which took six days.

In chronological order, the angels were created first, then the universe was created, then the fall of Satan occurred, then the destruction of the earth occurred, it became null and void.  It was not created as a void world.  And then God restored the world in preparation for humanity, and the conclusion of the angelic conflict.

So, when creation originally occurred, it occurred instantly, and it was completed in its entirety.  That distinguishes it from the six day restoration of earth, which occurred later on, after the fall of Satan.

Psalm 33:8

Copyright Ó 2014 J. Neely
Psalm 33:8

8 Let all the earth ['erets] fear [yare'] the LORD [Yahovah]: let all the inhabitants [yashab] of the world [tebel] stand in awe [guwr] of him.  KJV-Interlinear

8 Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him!  ESV

If a person truly stood in awe of God, they would not be able to put the Bible down, would not be able to stop learning all there is to know about Him.  And yet, the world is desensitized through indifference, and indifference is driven by arrogance, the arrogance of one who is not impressed, of one who does not take God seriously.

The world is more obsessed with the outward appearance before man, than its appearance before God.

And yet God exists far beyond space and time.  Nothing can contain the essence of God.  Nothing can fathom or understand the vast magnitude of God.

Even in recent science, where we have discovered the vast details of this universe and have discovered that there is even far more to this universe than we can begin to ask questions about, does not seem to be enough to convince people that they need to learn more about God, and have a relationship with Him.

Just a few decades ago, most of the technology that we have today, did not exist.  And all of the technology that has been discovered and invented, was created out of the physical properties of this universe.  Physical properties that God designed a very long time ago.

So, respect God, and stand in awe.

To respect means to actually recognize that He exists, that He has a plan, that He has a plan for you, and that you desire to fulfil that plan for your life.  But most folks only give lip service to that whole concept, not desiring enough to pursue it, to seek it out, to capture it for themselves.

To stand in awe, means to actually stop and look at something that is so out of the ordinary that you cannot help but stop and look for yourself, and even fix your eyes on it because it is so overwhelming.

Most people are dedicated to the things of this world, to the support of the things of this world, to the pursuit of the things of this world.  All of which are temporary and false at best.

Truth is what should be desired, supported, pursued, for it is permanent and fulfilling and actually accomplishes a completeness that will last forever.

And yet ….
