Psalm 19:14

Copyright Ó 2012 J. Neely
Psalm 19:14

14 Let the words ['emer] of my mouth, [peh] and the meditation [higgayown] of my heart, [leb] be acceptable [ratsown] in thy sight, [paniym] O LORD, [Yahovah] my strength, [tsuwr] and my redeemer. [ga'al] KJV-Interlinear

14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer. NASB

The words of the mouth are those which are spoken and heard by all that are within listening range.

The meditation of the heart refers to the thoughts of ones soul.

And between the two, they need to be consistent in ones approach and attitude toward life.

Too many people think one thing and say another, or say one thing and think another.  They are the hypocrites, the forked tongue people of the world.  Their lives are full of lies and deceit.  Their lives are aimed at impressing or confusing people or themselves.

However, it is God who is the ultimate judge of us all, and when he evaluates us, as He will one day, then our thoughts and actions need to be consistent in that He is the one who needs to be impressed, not other people.

Our life in this world is for but a short time, perhaps a few decades.  Our life after this one, is eternal and will continue on forever.  Forever is a very, very, very long time.

Nothing and no one in this world will decide your eternal life.  God alone decides that.  So the one to impress is God and no one else.

Your eternal life will make up more than ninety-nine-point-nine-nine-nine-nine-etc. percent (99.9999… percent) of your life.

Your current life will occupy less than point-zero-zero-zero-zero-etc-one percent (.0000…1 percent) of your life, or virtually nothing of your whole life.

To spend most of your time concentrating on the least part of your life is foolish or down right stupid.

To spend most of your time in preparation of the greater portion of your life is wisdom.

And God and your spiritual life is that best time invested in your eternal life.

Inconsistency in thought and deed, are a fools attempt to manipulate their current environment and life into something that they think they want.

Learning doctrine and therefore bringing your thoughts and intents and actions into sync with each other and with your life and with God, accomplish far more than you can on your own, and are in accordance with Gods plan for your life.

God is our strength and our redeemer.

The Old Testament has much to say about salvation and the spiritual life.

God is the strength or the rock, the solid foundation of ones life.  That foundation is constructed by means of doctrine learned and metabolized into ones soul.

God is our redeemer.  This speaks to mans need of a redeemer because of the weaknesses and flaws that man has incorporated in the life.  Redemption, or salvation, comes from God alone and from no other source.

The God spoken of here is the second person of the trinity, the Lord, who is both God and man in the same person, namely the Messiah as promised back in the days prior to the Cross, all the way back to Adam and even back into eternity past when the divine plan was established.

Psalm 19:13

Copyright Ó 2012 J. Neely
Psalm 19:13

13 Keep back [chasak] thy servant [`ebed] also from presumptuous [zed] sins; let them not have dominion [mashal] over me: then shall I be upright, [tamam] and I shall be innocent [naqah] from the great [rab] transgression. [pesha`] KJV-Interlinear

13 Also keep back Thy servant from presumptuous sins; Let them not rule over me; Then I shall be blameless, And I shall be acquitted of great transgression. NASB

There are several passages in the Old Testament that make reference to the confession process.  Beginning in Leviticus with the first five chapters and the first five sacrifices, and here that process is described not in its mechanics, but in its purpose and results.

This verse and the next fully incorporate the spiritual process and function of spirituality.

Beginning with the prior verse, in the question that is asked, ‘How?’

And now in this verse, the restraint that is applied to ones life, but not by means of ones own effort, but by means by Gods effort, then restraint is placed on or provided for the continuation of the prevention of sin in the life, especially those sins that come naturally and easily to oneself simply because you have a habit or a comfort zone in them.

Thus, keep back, is a reference to the errors described in the previous verse.  Keep them back and out of my life.

But how is that possible when we are all sinners are susceptible to sin, simply because this world inundates us with burdens and temptations and pressures and enticements and so forth.

Presumptuous sins are not those which are open or obvious in ones life, but to those that are boiling, swelling, inflated, or in other words, those sins that drive your life, those sins that are a part of your habit or pattern of life.  They are the sins that you do over and over, again and again, simply because you have incorporated them into your life, perhaps without realizing it, but more so that you simply don’t want to change.

Let them not have dominion over me, is probably obvious, but is means to consume you, to control you, to take over your life such that you find it difficult to avoid them.

Self-righteousness, or perhaps sins of a lascivious nature, or sins of indifference toward truth, may be examples of ingrained patterns of beliefs or activities that encompass ones life.

The great transgression, is not a reference to any one single sin, but a reference to the whole pattern of sin or sins that you are susceptible to and seem to be dominated by in your life.

The great transgression is anything and everything that keeps you out of fellowship and out of Gods will and plan for your life.  This can even include your unteachable attitude in resisting Gods mandates.

To be innocent, means to be freed from the burdens that sins place on your life.

The true function of freedom in ones life exists when you are in fellowship. That is the only place wherein you can freely grow and learn and understand all that there is to know and understand and grow to spiritual maturity and beyond.

Fellowship is the place of clarity of thought, clarity of discernment, clarity in decisions.  It is the place of real opportunity.

Innocence is the freedom you have when sin does not burden your life.

Upright, is then the actual placement of oneself into fellowship. That is the position where the spiritual life functions.

Therefore, to cleanse, from the prior verse, is the function of washing away, with repetition, the sins that constantly burden or harass you within your life, as well as all sins of course.

This prevents them from controlling your life. When there is sin in your life, then that places the sin nature in control over your life.  You are never really in control over your own self when you live within the carnal world of sin, regardless of what that sin may be.

With confession you then become upright, or placed in fellowship.

You then become innocent or free from the burdens of sin and the sin nature.

And that in turn frees you to grow and prosper in your life since you are free, while in fellowship, to pursue that which God intends for you.

Therein is the real freedom and purpose and design that God gave you, both for now and forever.

Psalm 19:12

Copyright Ó 2012 J. Neely
Psalm 19:12

12 Who can understand [biyn] his errors [shagiy'ah]? cleanse [naqah] thou me from secret [cathar] faults. KJV-Interlinear

12 Who can discern his errors? Acquit me of hidden faults. NASB

The question is, ‘Who can identify his own errors?’  Who can cleanse himself from those errors?’

Without doctrine, no one can identify that they are full of errors.  Without doctrine, or the laws of God, no one can discern between that which is right from that which is wrong.

If the world went without Gods truth in any and every form, then no one would have any standard with which to even begin to decide what is right and that which is wrong.  What you would end up with would be beliefs of popular consent.  That means witches would burn, and anyone could be declared a witch, and evil would rule.

The jungle laws would reign, and no one would be safe, ever.

But doctrine and its revelation began in the Garden with Adam. And even after the fall of man, and when man was outside of the Garden, then their children, Cain and Abel for example, knew of the laws of God.  They just had different views of those laws.

Abel had the proper sacrifice and Cain did not.  But they learned of the sacrifices from God, or most likely they learned of them from their dad, Adam.

Even after leaving the Garden, Adam and Eve learned of Gods laws as the Bible tells us that they were clothed with animal skins.  Note here, that animal skins came from animals and more precisely, they came from dead animals.  And those animal skins were used to cover the nakedness of man, which is to say the sin of man, which means that they came from the sacrifices of the animals, which sacrifices portray not only salvation but also, confession and the restoration to fellowship with God.  They lost that fellowship when they first sinned and tried to use human efforts (leaves) to cover up their nakedness.

God had a better cover, Christs’ work on the cross.

And generation after generation, came to learn the difference between right and wrong, and those principles spread throughout the world with the underlying foundation of truth.  All knowledge came from and began with, doctrine.

The first few chapters of Genesis, tells us that there were builders, and farmers and shepherds, and hunters and so forth.  Adam and Eves first set of clothing came from the sacrifices that God taught.  Sacrifices that required the use of fire to burn the animals.

So, all initial knowledge for humanity, came initially from God in some form.  After that, man has used that knowledge to build even more knowledge and understanding, upon knowledge and understanding until we have the many things that we have today.

But without Gods word, no one would have any idea as to their ways in errors.  So, who can understand their own errors?  No one, unless they have Gods word as a standard to compare against.

Who can cleanse themselves?  No one.

Sin is uncleansable by mans own effort.

Man is soiled by sin and that filth permeates his entire essence, such that man cannot take a long enough shower or use enough soap, to clean the sin out of every genetic fiber of his own essence.

And the answer again is no one can clean themselves.

It takes the supernatural work of God and doctrine, to clean up the uncleanable.

Salvation provides the first and initial cleaning away of sin, but after salvation, then people commit sins again and again, and then it takes doctrine, or the understanding of doctrine, to keep the cleaning process going throughout ones life.

You cannot function properly in society if you are filthy of putrid, stench and decay.

Confession is the cleaning process for removing ones sins and restoring one back into fellowship.

Fellowship is the spiritual classroom and environment and position before God, wherein the person can learn and grow and interact with God and life.

When you are in fellowship, you are in effect standing before God, in His presence as it were, and functioning within the full operational scope of the spiritual life.

When you are out of fellowship, then you are out of the presence of God and out of the functioning spiritual life.  All switches are in the off position.

And therefore, the secret faults are those errors that even you cannot see unless you possess doctrine, with which to see them.

You cannot clean up your own self, by yourself, using your own opinions, philosophies, or beliefs.

Only doctrine that is known to you, can accomplish that end result of spiritual cleanliness.

Psalm 19:11

Copyright Ó 2012 J. Neely
Psalm 19:11

11 Moreover by them is thy servant [`ebed] warned: [zahar] and in keeping [shamar] of them there is great [rab] reward. [`eqeb] KJV-Interlinear

11 Moreover, by them Thy servant is warned; In keeping them there is great reward. NASB

By them, them being the content of the scriptures, the mandates, and principles, and process of the spiritual life and so forth, then by them you are warned.

Warned, ‘zahar,’ means enlightened, admonished, cautioned, to glean, to teach or to be taught, warned, placed on notice.

Keeping, ‘shamar,’ means to place a wall or hedge around, to guard, to protect, to attend to, to take heed, to be circumspect, to regard, to mark, to save, to keep or retain closely.

Great, ‘rab,’ abundant, exceeding, abound, increase, long as in length of time or great duration, multiply.

Therefore, the truths that you are taught, that are contained in the scriptures, regardless of whether you pay attention or not, serve as a warning to you.  And that warning is several-fold, however the ultimate warning and notice given to you and to every human being who has or will ever live, is that there is a phenomenal reward attached to the keeping of Gods will during your life in this world.

And if you have been following along in this study for any length of time then you know what Gods will is.  And that is simply that you grow up in your spiritual life and become complete in the design that God has intended for you.

You accomplish this by first being saved, obviously, then second by maintaining your life in fellowship with God by means of confession.  And that means confession on a regular basis.  Then third, by means of learning Gods will by learning Bible doctrine on a daily basis, through instruction.

And by this you are made aware of the phenomenal destiny that is a potential for you, along with your responsibilities and obligations as a believer in Christ.

And then you begin to apply what you know or have learned to your day to day life, and that application becomes the source of your spiritual production, which in turn becomes the finish work and muscle for your spiritual life.

Bible doctrine is the fundamental foundation and building material for the framework of your spiritual life.

Your production is the finishing work of that construction project.

This all in turn builds up your spiritual confidence, spiritual muscle, spiritual poise, and so forth and qualifies you for that ‘great’ reward for all of eternity.

So, doctrine is your beginning and your end, and is in fact the entirety of your spiritual existence which is your existence.

Even though you read the words, David did this, Adam did that, Mary and the baby and so forth, all of that serves as a form of focus for you as you spend your time in fellowship.  God does all of the work for correcting your thinking and building your discernment for life.

Anyone can read the words, but only those who comply with Gods mandates for how to read and learn and apply, will benefit spiritually from them.

The biggest barrier you have is in the recognition of that warning and reward, and making it real to yourself.

This, unfortunately, most folks give only lip service to, and never make it a part of their real life. The world around them and the priorities and beliefs that they arrange in their minds generally come first, with doctrine and Gods will and mandates, etc. getting placed on the sidelines of their life.

No one ever goes to their grave without knowing these things, and again, unfortunately, after one enters their grave, it is too late to change.

Many years ago a checklist was assembled for the spiritual life within a study, and that checklist was placed in the online Library under ‘Special Studies,’ with the study named Checklist.  You might want to revisit that study from time to time just to see where you stand.

Psalm 19:10

Copyright Ó 2012 J. Neely
Psalm 19:10

10 More to be desired [chamad] are they than gold, [zahab] yea, than much [rab] fine gold: [paz] sweeter [mathowq] also than honey [dabash] and the honeycomb [nopheth]. [tsuwph] KJV-Interlinear

10 They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb. NASB

Gold has been the symbol of wealth since time began.  Even gold found in the ground is valued highly, and certainly fine gold that has been refined and has had all impurities removed, is even more valuable and useful.

Gold represents great wealth, since one is presumed to have some resources in order to possess gold.  Ounce for ounce and size for size, gold has more value and applications and desirability among society, than anything else in this world.

Silver usually represents the prosperity and success of ones life as it is the spending method of exchange.  While precious jewels represent the results of ones success or wealth.

As a possession, gold is pursued probably more than any other single thing.

Discover gold, and there will be a rush of seekers and merchants and camp followers such as you have never seen.

Across all nations, cultures, languages and beyond, gold is highly prized as a mere possession, in the form of jewelry, in architecture and so forth.

Honey has been symbolically used as a luxury item, its sweetness is beyond compare, and it represents all that is desirable to the tastes in foods and luxurious foods.

Honey that drips off the honeycomb is said to be the most pure, whereas the honey that comes direct from the comb may have particles of the honeycomb within it, the drippings have no such particles, and here again refer to the ultimate pleasures of life.

It is said that there are three great pleasures in life, money, food, and sex.  And while sex is available in some form during some portion of ones life, it is not always available throughout the entirety of ones life as is food or wealth.  Wealth and food have more variety and applications in the life and are therefore the greatest of valued things in this world.

But there is one thing that is more valuable, and more applicable to ones life, than even gold or honey.  And that thing is truth, or the content of Gods word.

Summarized in the previous verses, Bible doctrine has more value, more power, more life, more results for ones life than anything else, or than all worldly things combined.

It has the power to save, to create growth, to make productive, and to makes ones whole essence in life, complete.

When measured in terms of eternity, Bible doctrine in the soul has infinite value that is beyond calculation.  The rewards made available to the spiritually mature individual, are incalculable and they will be possessed for all of eternity.  Gold and honey will fade away from ones life when you die, and will fade away when this universe is removed and replaced.

Unfortunately, the world will pursue gold and good foods more than they will pursue doctrine.

Psalm 19:9

Copyright Ó 2012 J. Neely
Psalm 19:9

9 The fear [yir'ah] of the LORD [Yahovah] is clean, [tahowr] enduring [`amad] for ever: [`ad] the judgments [mishpat] of the LORD [Yahovah] are true ['emeth] and righteous [tsadaq] altogether. [yachad] KJV-Interlinear

9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true; they are righteous altogether. NASB

Fear, ‘yirah,’ means fear, terror, awe, reverence.  It is the attitude that one demonstrates toward something that is far above and beyond oneself.

Clean, ‘tahowr,’ means pure, without defect, without flaw, morally and ceremonially purified.

Enduring, ‘amad,’ means established without need for re-establishment.

And so the fear or awesome respect that is proper and necessary from man toward God, is something that is based in truth, is absent of self-righteousness or sin or defect or corruption in any form.  And it endures or is established forever.

It is not something that needs to be set and re-set.  It is not something that will ever pass away.  Even as our current universe will one day pass away, but not of its own accord, but by means of the active will of God, that passing and re-creation of an entire universe will not impact truth, or our attitude toward God, or our knowledge or understanding within us.  Those components of our essence are established firmly and will never leave us, which simply means that we as believers will never be destroyed.

Judgments, ‘mishpat,’ means decisions or verdicts that are arrived at by means of judicial means.

True, ‘emeth,’ means right, correct, legitimately accurate, stable, certain.

Righteous, ‘tsadaq,’ to cleanse, just, clean, perfect.

Altogether, ‘yachad,’ means together as one unit, inseparable, not independent of each other.

And so the judgments of God are true and correct, not arbitrary, not frivolous, but are based on strong and accurate and overwhelming evidence.  His decisions are certain and not subject to question.  They are perfect and consistent since the beginning of time and prior, and forever into the future.

God does not have one policy for one period of history, and another policy or set of decisions for another period of history.  God treats every person throughout history, exactly the same.  God treats every event with the same consistency.

God is never biased, never random.  God does what God does based on that consistent and rational plan, which plan was established in eternity past, and God has never wavered from that plan.
God knows all that will happen, and when it will happen, and God deals with every event and person with complete fairness and objectivity and consistency.

Psalm 19:8

Copyright Ó 2012 J. Neely
Psalm 19:8

8 The statutes [piqquwd] of the LORD [Yahovah] are right, [yashar] rejoicing [samach] the heart: [leb] the commandment [mitsvah] of the LORD [Yahovah] is pure, [bar] enlightening ['owr] the eyes. [`ayin] KJV-Interlinear

8 The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. NASB

The word for statutes, ‘piqquwd,’ means statutes, but not in the form of orders or commands.  These statutes represent the body of rules, precepts, principles that have been appointed by God.  They were appointed based on Gods divine authority and sovereign authority over all that exists and beyond.

All principles are right, ‘yashar,’ which means that they are just and correct and fair and proper.  All of Gods statues are based on and result from, Gods infinite wisdom.  And this does not mean merely that God simply came up with them, but they are derived from within themselves.  They are all self-contained and are a result of their own existence.

All biblical principles, and that means all correct Biblical principles, not those that man creates through imaginative interpretation, but all legitimate principles are and form the basic foundation of truth.  They are irrefutable and immutable.

These are things that a person can look to and rely on for absolute fairness and security and safety in life.  And as such, given that this world produces not much that a person can rely on for a short time, let alone ones entire life, then Gods principles make the heart rejoice.

The heart is a reference to the circulatory activity of the soul.  The heart in the body pumps and the blood circulates throughout the body.  And as such the heart of the soul is here used symbolically to describe the circulation of doctrine throughout the soul.  The thinking process.  This doctrine is saturated with Gods principles.

When one has sound and steady thinking, then the life is relaxed, confident, certain and has a great outlook on the future.  Thus the person is joyful and contented with his or her prospects for life.

The commandments, ‘mitsvah,’ refers to the obligations, the responsibilities that are placed on the believer as a result of Gods mandates or charges or expectations from the believer as they function within their spiritual life.

To each one of us, God has given vast blessings.  With those blessings, likewise God has placed vast expectations on us.  Blessings or the freedom of the spiritual life, does not come without responsibility.  To whom God gives much, then much is expected.

God commands and this is what God expects.

His commands are pure, ‘bar,’ meaning that they are free from all defects, free from all corruption, free from all bias or unreasonable expectations.  Gods commands are not arbitrary or haphazard, but just, as His statutes are based on the fundamental principles of truth, so too, Gods commands are fair and just and based on the foundation principles of life itself.

You are never asked to do anything that is unreasonable, but only asked to do that which will promote and advance your life to the maximum. And in turn, when you understand this, your eyes are opened up to recognize the realities of life.

This in turn develops a deep and abiding appreciation for all that God has done for you.

Prior to your birth, you did not know anything.  After God created your life, you have been given the opportunity to come to know and understand that your entire existence is a phenomenal gift, and what awaits you out there in the great beyond is far more than you can even begin to imagine.

Psalm 19:7

Copyright Ó 2012 J. Neely
Psalm 19:7

7 The law [towrah] of the LORD [Yahovah] is perfect, [tamiym] converting [shuwb] the soul: [nephesh] the testimony [`eduwth] of the LORD [Yahovah] is sure, ['aman] making wise [chakam] the simple. [pathiy] KJV-Interlinear

7 The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. NASB

The law, ‘towrah,’ refers to the body of principles, or precepts.  This is a reference to the entirety of Gods truth as recorded and communicated in the scriptures.

Perfect, ‘tamiym,’ means full, complete, without blemish, sound, whole.  And the Word of God is just that.  It is the standard for completeness and soundness, without fault, without error.

Converting, ‘shuwb,’ means transformation, fulfilling, completion as in a structure that is built and brought to the point of total completion.

The soul is the real you.

When you were born in to this world, you were incomplete.

In order for you to become complete, all of the missing components must be added to your essence.

You need to grow up mentally, learn a language, how to read and write and to add.  You need to learn to communicate and be understood.  You need to learn to understand and then use what you know wisely.

As your life begins empty, you need to have a means of productivity, so as to fulfill your obligations to self, to people and to God especially.  You need to become useful and not useless.

Your incompleteness needs salvation added in order to obtain eternal life.  Your knowledge needs to be filled in order for you to gain understanding.  Your understanding needs to be applied in many different situations in order for you to become wise.  Your activity of life needs to be useful in order for your life to become productive.

All of this needs to be accomplished within the sphere of fellowship, such that your work and accomplishments are due to God, and not to your own efforts, lest you boast of your efforts apart from God.

Testimony, ‘eduwth,’ means that which is born to witness to.  That means that all truth comes from God. All that comes from God is true evidence of that which is real and correct and factual.  In truth there is no deception, nothing misleading, no lies, no inaccuracies.

Sure, ‘aman,’ refers to that which is firm, revealed, settled, verifiable.

The simple, ‘pathiy,’ means foolish, uninformed, naïve.

If you do not know doctrine then you are a fool.  If you have not learned doctrine, then you cannot know its content, its truth, its accuracies. If you have not learned doctrine, then you have nothing with which to orient yourself to life or to anything accurately.

Thus the law, or the content of the scriptures, is the source information, that converts the fool into the wise.  No doctrine, no conversion.

No study, no doctrine.

If you have not been taught something then you cannot know it, and if you do not know it, then you cannot use it.

There is but one way to be wise and that begins with your daily study, while in fellowship.

Psalm 19:6

Copyright Ó 2012 J. Neely
Psalm 19:6

6 His going forth [mowtsa'] is from the end [qatseh] of the heaven, [shamayim] and his circuit [taquwphah] unto the ends [qatsah] of it: and there is nothing hid [cathar] from the heat [chammah] thereof. KJV-Interlinear

6 Its rising is from one end of the heavens, And its circuit to the other end of them; And there is nothing hidden from its heat. NASB

Going forth, ‘mowtsa,’ means the circuit or path as in a race.

And so the sun goes forth about its business as designed.  It travels without tiring without letting up in its pace.

The sun travels from one end, the east, to the end of its total circuit.  Here that circuit is typically a year, covering all the four seasons, traveling throughout the year, and back to the point of when all things seemingly restart.

Circuit, ‘taquwphah,’ means revolution, path, course.  And here refers to the completion of that path.

Unto the ends, ‘qutsah,’ means termination, end point, point of restarting.

Nothing hid from the sun, is a reference to the life giving warmth and light.  For all living things, there is some benefit from the sun.  Even the things that live in the deepest portions of the ocean, benefit to some extent.  But here the surface of the earth where humanity lives, that life giving warmth and light are in view.  For it is humanity that receives life and it is humanity that benefits for the purpose of continuing on forever.

This whole set of symbolisms points to the fact that all of humanity in its entirety, since the time of Adam, to the four corners of the planet, has benefited from the sun, has seen the sun, has looked heavenward, for that is how you see the sun.  You have to look to the sun in order to see it, and all of humanity, no matter who they were or when they lived, has looked up and seen the sun at some point in their life.

And for the most part, most people see the sun every day, or at least its affects, all of their life.

It is impossible for anyone to have lived and not know of a higher being, or designer, or to even wonder about that question.

And Bible doctrine is so much more than the mere appearance of the sun during the day and the stars during the night.

The sun does its job ceaselessly and tirelessly and consistently throughout the ages.

When you combine the truth of doctrine, by means of your daily studies, with the patterns and design of nature, one cannot escape the questions about God and life, and what our individual obligations and purposes are.

Those who fight the truth and their place in life, fight only to defeat themselves.

Look up at the sun and the stars and try as you may, you cannot change their characteristics. You cannot change their course.  You cannot change their appearance or their appearing.

And so too, God has placed certain characteristics upon you and your life, and of those you cannot change but can only improve upon through compliance with Gods plan and purpose for your life.

To the degree that you comply with and subscribe to, Gods plan, will determine the degree of your blessings and the completion of your overall life.

To the degree that you fight it, will only result in loss of blessing and loss of happiness.  And why would you do that to yourself?

Psalm 19:5

Copyright Ó 2012 J. Neely
Psalm 19:5

5 Which is as a bridegroom [chathan] coming out [yatsa'] of his chamber, [chuppah] and rejoiceth [suws] as a strong man [gibbowr] to run [ruwts] a race. ['orach] KJV-Interlinear

5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber; It rejoices as a strong man to run his course. NASB

Chamber, ‘chuppah,’ is a reference to the bride chamber or canopy or closet, wherein the bride and groom consummate their marriage.

In the morning at first light, after the couple has had their nights activities, then the bridegroom arises, dresses in the spendor of victory and joy, and emerges out of the chamber with renewed vigor and youth.

That is the picture being used here of the sun rising each morning, in its bright splendor, looking forward to a full and invigorating day ahead.

In the second illustration, the sun is compared to an athlete, strong, prepared, well trained, eager and ready for the athletic event before him.

The sun has its daily journey before it, a race as it were, and puts forth its full and seemingly endless effort all day until the end of the day, only to rise again to race again, without hesitation, willing and eager to repeat this process, with seemingly endless effort.

Just as the sun has been set in its place by God, so too, doctrine has been set in its place.

The course and purpose and design of the sun cannot be changed by mans efforts or will.  Neither can doctrine be modified, ended, or changed by mans efforts, will or design.

Whatever your attitude, whatever your opinions, whatever your desire to have things your way, in opposition to Gods way, you will lose, while Gods will continues unhindered.

To oppose God and His design, His purpose and design and place for your life, regardless of your circumstances, is a fools choice.
